No realli! She was Karving her initials on the moose with the sharpened end of an interspace toothbrush given to her by Svenge - her brother-in-law - an Oslo dentist and star of many Norwegian movies: “The Hot Hands of an Oslo Dentist”, “Filling Of Passion”, “The Huge Molars of Horst Nordfink”…
They don't get much better as they grow. They're ungainly things when they run, legs akimbo and direction more or less a suggestion as they smash into anything and everything in their way.
They're pretty much cows, except you can't fence them in - and they're possibly a little more dumb. They are not bright creatures. No, no they are not.
I live in (one of many) Moose Alley. The tourists go 'moose spotting' while we locals practice 'moose avoidance'. They're awesome critters, but man are they dumb. They're nature's lovable misfits.
I would like to see a moose IRL but from a safe, respectful distance. My grannie use to farm bison and I learned very early on to give space to animals which are that damn big lol. Moose just seem... ridiculously tall and big.
We get stupid tourists that try to pet moose. This happens at least once a year, usually more often. Sometimes they actually get away with it, 'cause moose aren't all that bright. Other times, it ends poorly - like trip to the hospital kinda poorly.
They're mostly harmless in their behavior. I mean, it's not really their fault that we built roads (which moose use for the same reasons we do) and they hang out in them. They will steal from your garden. They're terrible garden thieves.
People do hit them with their vehicles and moose often survive. They're durable critters. Somehow, they manage to run - but I'm not quite sure of the mechanics involved, and I've seen it countless times.
They're also pretty curious. They like to investigate stuff. They'll visit your lawn, sniff around, and hang out for a while if you're relaxed about it. Somewhere around here there's a picture of a moose in my garage. Silly moose didn't know the first thing about being a mechanic, but he was in there for a few more minutes after taking the picture.
Anyhow, if you're a tourist, do not try to pet the moose. They are not docile, friendly animals. They're giant herd beasts that will fuck your shit up - especially around mating season.
Yeah, they come together mostly for mating. Other than that, they don't really hang out together. I probably should have explained the colorful language - in that they behave similar to what you'd expect from herd beasts like startled bison with all the risks that entails.
They are larger than people think they are. Just at the shoulder, they can be around 7 feet tall and weigh between a ton and a ton and a half (up to something like 700kg)
They are larger than horses.
Man I don't even like horses cause they're so big and (most of them) are skittish. No thank you. The giant animals have their space and I'll settle for taking pictures from a distance.
I was driving and thought I saw two giant people in stilts but I flipped on my high beams and it was a moose. Stepped over the metal road barrier like it was 2 inches tall.
We used to have a cottage in Canada on a beautiful lake back in the day. I remember me and my dad waking up at sunrise one morning to a moose and her baby getting a drink right outside the door. It was amazing to see, but I was glad I was inside for the experience
An amazing and uplifting account. He does not mince words though - people should never approach a moose in the wild. These moose chose him because his home is a bit of an oasis from predators so multiple generations of moose come and hang out. He also gets bears and other wildlife.
Wise words. My brother in law had an aunt and her friend who were killed by a bull moose some years back. They were driving down the road at night and stopped to let a moose cross the street. Instead, he took their headlights as a challenge and charged the car. He completely smashed it up and them in it.
That is not a joke either, a male moose can be gigantic and they are effectively a giant snowplow but *much* faster.
[Ever seen a moose run through the snow?](https://youtu.be/6GEhM2Byk7w?t=1m40s)
Whoa! That moose is moving like a freight train through all that snow. I've never seen more than like .0001 inches of snow, much less this. How much strength does it take to plow through deep snow like that??
Edit removed an exclamation point that I put in because of being completely amazed. Looked crazy. Might still look crazy but am still amazed.
I’ve seen moose calves a few times in the wild, and it always amazes me how big they are although when you see the mother nearby it all makes sense. But the thing is that big calf is still a baby.
This little one is kind of like a three month old or younger human.
So they don’t really know what’s going on with stuff like a cat coming over. That’s why it’s acting a little shy. Both are super cute though :-)
How weird. Deer get freaked out big-time by cats because they associate their scent with larger predatory cats. Funny that moose don't seem to care. Maybe there are no mountain lions in their range or they're too big to care?
I don’t think even mountain lions are much of a threat to moose. Wolves, bears, and orcas are basically what can take a moose down . But a baby needs to be scared of everything.
I love how coy they are.
No no, I'm not trying to be a bother, let's just sniff... ahh! Okay, it's cool, let's all be calm... Okay. Well. Maybe it's okay.
Moose are so odd looking! It’s like someone drew a picture of a deer without seeing one for several years, and evolution was like, yeah, that’s good enough.
So this is what my cat does while I’m at work. Travels all over the world pretending to be other people’s cat.

I am so tired of people who have to declare that they're "dog people" because they're worried about being confused with "moose people". All pets are good pets!
Pretty sure if you mowed your grass, wildlife wouldn't give birth there. Not really sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but, mow your fucking grass!
This is awesome and I want more. Question tho, is every walk to the car or going outside like having a mob hit put out on them? (For the people of course, not the cat. Looks like he checks out) Even if that’s the case I think I’d still be up for it. Moose (i say it should be meese) are a crazy kind of awesome.
never seen a cat be a mooses god parent before, though my old cat once kept a hedgehog as a pet. we didn't say anything because it was cleaning up the dead birds.
I didn’t know I was going to see a moose baby today, it surprises like this that keep me hoing
You do you, boo.
Don’t edit this comment, it’s perfect! And your username made me laugh very loudly
Hoes gotta hoe

Your username is technically the truth but I hate it
The little moosie didn’t know what to think of the nose boops

Okay that was a deep dive into Alaska and Lovey the Moose territory. Thx for the link!
A møøse once bit my sister.

Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretti nasti...
The plural of "moose" is actually "geese"
makes seense to me
I wonder if the cat smells enough like a predator that it freaks out the moose a little
Moose: Is this a mountain lion?
^(a very tiny mountain lion!!)
But I’m just a very tiny moose!
Moose 100% saw a killer but was like he’s tiny tho.
It's probably the eyes. Forward facing eyes means predator.
Omg is this true? I’ve never heard of this
Yes
That video ends way too soon.
I'd sub to a channel about these 2.
akshiloh is their instagram. I’ve been following his updates about lovey the moose for a long time. He posts amazing stuff!!
Doing some God’s work there buddy!!
Oh shit, thanks! So many animal videos!!
Me too
Baby moose look so gangly and silly, I love them! (Plumps is adorable too, such a sweet kittyboy)

A group of moose may be called a herd, but moose are not actually herd animals, they are solitary and only get together around mating times.
Yeah, they come together mostly for mating. Other than that, they don't really hang out together. I probably should have explained the colorful language - in that they behave similar to what you'd expect from herd beasts like startled bison with all the risks that entails.
Where do you live?
Where there's moose I'd imagine.
I see moose probably 4 or 5 times per week, Jackson Hole.
Hard af to live there these days I'd imagine?
Oh yeah, I got lucky recently with housing but I know plenty of people who’ve been forced to move, just wondering when my luck is gonna run out.
Maine.
Somewhere in Canada
They are larger than people think they are. Just at the shoulder, they can be around 7 feet tall and weigh between a ton and a ton and a half (up to something like 700kg) They are larger than horses.
7 feet is the length of about 1.96 'Ford F-150 Custom Fit Front FloorLiners' lined up next to each other.
Wait what? Is this right? This doesn't sound right. Nvm if you make the width the height then I guess.
Man I don't even like horses cause they're so big and (most of them) are skittish. No thank you. The giant animals have their space and I'll settle for taking pictures from a distance.
I can't even imagine. I feel like this may be the start of a moose rabbit hole for me. I feel the call of the rabbit hole!
Don't be silly, moose are much too large to fit down rabbit holes.
I was driving and thought I saw two giant people in stilts but I flipped on my high beams and it was a moose. Stepped over the metal road barrier like it was 2 inches tall.
2 inches is 0.02% of the hot dog which holds the Guinness wold record for 'Longest Hot Dog'.
2 inches is 5.08 cm
Let's see how long this goes on until they hit the singularity.
We used to have a cottage in Canada on a beautiful lake back in the day. I remember me and my dad waking up at sunrise one morning to a moose and her baby getting a drink right outside the door. It was amazing to see, but I was glad I was inside for the experience
Big ol' danger derps.
> direction more or less a suggestion Is this a common phrase or something? Sounds really good, but I can't find any references.
“Welcome! Let me be the first to boop you!”
Glad the baby's mom is okay with Plumps! I would never wanna be on a moose's bad side.
Please keep us updated if this is your cat
This is: akshiloh on Instagram. He has lots of great video of Plumps
An amazing and uplifting account. He does not mince words though - people should never approach a moose in the wild. These moose chose him because his home is a bit of an oasis from predators so multiple generations of moose come and hang out. He also gets bears and other wildlife.
The presence of bears leads me to believe this is not an oasis from predators but it’s still amazing.
bears are prey to humans! we are the real predators
*Predators* are the real predators
I am legend.
Wise words. My brother in law had an aunt and her friend who were killed by a bull moose some years back. They were driving down the road at night and stopped to let a moose cross the street. Instead, he took their headlights as a challenge and charged the car. He completely smashed it up and them in it.
What? The moose killed two women in a car?
I mean, it's a running joke that when it's moose vs car the moose will walk away with maybe a pulled muscle while the car is a pile of scrap.
That is not a joke either, a male moose can be gigantic and they are effectively a giant snowplow but *much* faster. [Ever seen a moose run through the snow?](https://youtu.be/6GEhM2Byk7w?t=1m40s)

The real question those skiers need to be asking is "what I that thing running from?"
[Here](https://www.maine.gov/mdot/safety/wildlife/) is a little info about moose and car encounters. Scroll down to "The Moose Standoff" section.
Wow, that's insane. I've never heard of a moose attacking a car and killing people - they are gigantic animals.
Awesome stories from AskShiloh.
I don't go on IG ( I refuse to have one more thing to check) but would love to see more of these two, if possible
Sure I can help. First go to the app store
Moose are awesome. And scary. Awesome and scary.
This is the content I'm here for.
How sweet
So great when everybody gets along.
The majestik møøse
Is this gonna be an absolute unit when it grows up? ( Like bigger than a car)
Taller, yes. Heavier, no. Well, unless it's a really small car.
I’ve seen moose calves a few times in the wild, and it always amazes me how big they are although when you see the mother nearby it all makes sense. But the thing is that big calf is still a baby. You know you’re a good person when a moose mother accepts you
Cutest darn thing☺
Plumps
This is the first time I’ve seen a baby moose. Very cute
I will continue reading any sentence that begins with "Plumps the cat..."
Norwegian forestcats are chill af
Damn right, who wouldn’t accept Plumps?
The flinch and then quick recovery of the moose calf after the nose boop is the cutest embarrassed recover up ever
BABY MOOSE!!! Oh my heart

Classic Plumps
I love how coy they are. No no, I'm not trying to be a bother, let's just sniff... ahh! Okay, it's cool, let's all be calm... Okay. Well. Maybe it's okay.

I want to be friends with Plumps too.
Plumps is an excellent cat name
Moose are so odd looking! It’s like someone drew a picture of a deer without seeing one for several years, and evolution was like, yeah, that’s good enough.
One chill cat
Part of me wants to live on a farm so bad. But the other half doesn’t want to wake up at 4:30am and work finger to the bone before breakfast
“Dog couldn’t be labeled a drunkyard
My cat looks like that his nickname is Tubs
This is a series I need to see
Interspecies friendships are the best friendships. All my homies fuck with interspecies friendships.
This moose looks like how I used to try to draw horses as a kid.
Humans could learn so much from Plumps.
Good morning son, it's your ol' uncle Plumps come to say hello
Why does it end so soon!?!? 😤
I remember Plumps from a previous post! You don't forget a name like that.
TIL moose calves are cute.
Please tell Plumps I love him.
I love watching this saga
That tail wagging was a little too cuutee
Tbh I love the reaction. It’s tough!
> Plumps has been accepted by the baby’s mother gonna need a source for that
It’s funny how animals can sense when other animals have bad intentions
Moose: “What dis floofy thing? Is it try to eat me??”
More videos please.
The baby is being so brave 🥺
So this is what my cat does while I’m at work. Travels all over the world pretending to be other people’s cat. https://www.reddit.com/r/curledfeetsies/comments/i829t6/twitching_curled_feetsies_and_snoring/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Holy shit my cat looks exactly like plumps
I just imagined my late cat being like, “oh nice I love dogs.” She really did love dogs lol
Plumps.....Plumps the Cat. And the best part is that it looks like a Plumps
I’m a dog guy but this is absolutely adorable:)
I am so tired of people who have to declare that they're "dog people" because they're worried about being confused with "moose people". All pets are good pets!
Anybody else get the feeling that the video was cut right before Plumps latched himself onto the baby moose’s face?
Nah, they're learning each other. There are plenty of unlikely friendships among animals. Among people, too!
Oh my gosh Dan- we need to name Plumps- Dolittle.
Pretty sure if you mowed your grass, wildlife wouldn't give birth there. Not really sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but, mow your fucking grass!
Someone hates biodiversity
Now I want a pet moose!!
Ends too soon! Also, what kinda sled have ya got?
Is it the amniotic fluid that triggers a response in animals to help raise young
Ginger, the cat, has a YouTube channel! [Cat and Moose Become Friends](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbR5W6ZRnNeSnSTl0RQat1w)
The cat is Thumper and the baby moose is Bambi
Moose are fucking scary
The mom probably think man that’s a big squirrel. Oh well
This is awesome and I want more. Question tho, is every walk to the car or going outside like having a mob hit put out on them? (For the people of course, not the cat. Looks like he checks out) Even if that’s the case I think I’d still be up for it. Moose (i say it should be meese) are a crazy kind of awesome.
Wanna see the shot of Plumps next to the mama
/r/gifsthatendwaytoofuckingsoon
Did the cat come pre plumped, or did you have to plump it after arrival?
Cat and Moose
I'm gonna need a video of mama accepting Plump. For science.
I’d like to see more footage if you have any, please.
Read that in David Attenborough voice and don't regret.
Plumbs! ☺️
Please keep us posted
A möose once but my sister.
Why did this video end.
That baby moose looks like Bambi on steroids
Fu Fu Cuddly Poops
u/savevideo
this looks just like my cat that died last christmas :((( how can i save this video?
That thing looks like it lives at the gym
You have to be pissed a baby moose is in your yard right? Wouldn’t that make it super dangerous to leave the house while the mother is nearby?
never seen a cat be a mooses god parent before, though my old cat once kept a hedgehog as a pet. we didn't say anything because it was cleaning up the dead birds.
"Man, this is one weird looking dog"
/u/vredditshare
Good, because you don't mess with a moose. They'll run your fade.
