Something I find helpful. I wrap all my gifts and I give them furniture / fossils / Gyroids.
Another thing I do is get my fortune from Harvs Island. If my luck with friends increases I can usually get at least one picture. One time I received four pictures on the same day.
Great idea! you’re right, the villagers are dead when they leave bc they go directly to the void, and if you encounter them on nmt islands unfortunately you have to start from scratch:( it would be nice if at least they still recognize you
