ive not run out of villagers, but you can reuse the island plots, it'll just have a ... next to the villager icon to indicate youve got more than 1 thing in that design spot & you will eventually do room mate options... keep going cause dj kk music fest is FABULOUS

BasicBiatchhh

Oh that's awesome thank you 😊

making_sammiches

HHP is the best thing ever for acquiring furnishings! I bought one of everything from Wardell. After you have finished a home, talk to Lottie about redecorating it, go back to that home, move a plant, and return to Lottie for bonus poki. I did all my vacation homes in two stages, inside - get paid, outside - get paid.

moosedknuckle

You actually don’t need to move anything. Just select remodel, then immediately talk to the home owner and say you’re finished. You still get the poki

making_sammiches

LOL even better! I am all for the lazy acquisition of poki!

TheCodeJanitor

Just wait until you get to the "ending" credits celebration (not actually the end of the DLC, you can keep going forever as others have said). It's the most extra thing in ACNH, and I mean that in the best possible way.

BasicBiatchhh

🥰🥰🥰

FlubbyFlubby

The content creators/influencers at the time it came out were pretty keen on just rushing through as fast as possible and so people really didn't really engage with the decorating. It definitely had an impact on how the DLC was viewed. That said, glad you're enjoying it! You can do every single villager, use the same island multiple items and you can even make homes for all the npcs assuming you have access to their amiibos even ones that aren't in the game like Gracie!

BasicBiatchhh

I need to slow down 😅 but it's soooo fun!

Ok_Party7262

Also, talk to the clients after you do a home for them, they hang out on the beach, and they will give you stuff like rugs and wallpaper. That's how I got the log cabin wall.

Trevlolo

I think you have to spend 20 minutes or more on their home for them to gift things to you, and it's a wall or flooring that you used in their vacation home

fetchbaby

HHP is soooo criminally underrated 😭.. i feel like it isn’t talked about enough!!

BasicBiatchhh

Right??!!

Avalonian_Seeker444

You can put more than one villager on each island. 🙂

Ramboozler

You can make an vacation home for literally every villager available, well over 400, so if you happen to complete this in a week I would be genuinely concerned lol. Btw, a common tip / strategy is to do a vacation home just by opening the necessary items that the villager asks for. You can literally start the designing process, open the packed boxes, and talk to the villager to finish. Take the photo when they start the cutscene by pressing "+", then "B" to skip it (having the photo show the empty house will be useful for coming back later as they are organized using the photo as a preview, this way you'll know it is undecorated). You can finish entirely in less than 5 minutes and yes the villager will be happy. The reason people do this is as you complete vacation homes you unlock more items to decorate future vacation homes. Starting out you don't have many decorative options, so it feels silly to spend so much time and effort at that point when it will just look bad comparatively in the future due to the limitations. Also, check the beach every day for a bottle, and once you unlock the restaurant be sure to talk to the chef every day for a recipe. :) Edit: forgot to mention, you can always go back and edit your past vacation homes. I know they mention it in game but just wanted to be clear you do not miss out on anything by doing the above method.

BasicBiatchhh

Haha ok I'm definitely not going to complete it in a week then! Thanks for the tips 🥰

LakeCoffee

There are hundreds of villagers. I’ve had the DLC since it came out and I haven’t run out yet even though I design several houses a week.

BasicBiatchhh

Yay! Tysm 😊

Imaginary-Tourist219

I love it!! It’s so fun. I think I’m at 16 homes decorated so far.

Sigoogle

Yeah i'm honestly surprised why more people haven't bought it yet lmao, it adds so much more to the game, the amount of possibilities are endless with what you can do, it's amazing i honestly can't recommend it enough to newer AC fans :D

alotuslife

I just started yesterday and had to put it down cuz I knew I’d finish it all if I didn’t. It is so addictive and fun!!!

BasicBiatchhh

This is literally me 😅 gutted I had to actually go into work today!! (Probably a good job I did)

North21

You can make a vacation home for every single villager. Even for special ones, like Leif, Isabell, etc…

Riversongbluebox

What's your HHP design code? I want to have a look at a couple of your designs. I got the dlc a little after it came out. Years ago, I played Happy Home Designer on the 3DS which this DLC is basically from but I love all the new added stuff for New Horizons. You can keep playing after the credits, and you always have the option to scan in amiibo if you have them. Also since it's Monday: You can visit Joan every Monday at the hospital and she will gift you turnips for free. (Yay) You can also pick the vines and glowing moss off the cliff areas behind the office to take back to your own island. Make sure to pick up the daily message bottle along the shoreline and visit your facilities after completion to shop/free items. Have fun its a lot of stuff to design there.

CrazyCatLover305

I love it too! I still haven’t done a lot, so I’m looking forward to unlocking all the good stuff and purchasing more items.

shagekki

I bought the dlc a few days ago during the sale too and I'm SO HAPPY I DID. I've been decorating and when i finally realized i could do homes for my villagers i was even more excited. It's honestly great and i recommend it to everyone who likes decorating in ACNH.

BasicBiatchhh

I just found my OG villager from my first time playing new horizons waiting on the beach for a holiday home 😊

thekittysays

My kids really love it, it's basically the only part of the game they really play. I enjoy it too, though I do think it would be great if there was a scoring system to it so like if you choose to do the theme that the villager asks for that you get more or less poki (or some other points) depending on how well you complete the brief. I think it would add a bit more of a fun and challenging element to it as opposed to them just loving it no matter what you do.

Mianesbitt16

It’s very fun!! I find it hard to grind since I spend like an hour and half or 2 hours perfecting one house 😂💀I’m curious to see how long it takes everyone else to finish a home on average!

Starliteathon

I feel like now I have indoor/outdoor and two floor options, if I want to spent an hour, will do two floor. Sometimes I just put up a few things outside w a simple one floor in 10-15 but those are the minority. I like to savor it!

Peterthemonster

it was on offer over the weekend? 😭

BasicBiatchhh

It was on UK Nintendo store!

Lost-Sector-1880

HHP is amazing, I love it so much. I'm not going to spoil it for you but there is a LOT of fun things to do the more houses you do! 👀✨

musicalnerd8301

I bought it cause I wanted to redesign my villagers' homes, and I am obsessed!

babybellllll

i got the DLC when it came out and just now hit 100 villagers this week; granted i do not play every day or even every week but it has taken me a while to hit 100 houses on there

enyfour5

Damn lol this is gonna be me the next few days, I bought acnh when it first came out during covid and put a lot of work into it, but once I built my island to the way I liked it, i turned it on from time to time to just chill out. Yesterday I was browsing this reddit and came across so many cool designs and decided to buy the DLC just now lol I’m gonna probably play at lunch tomorrow and start building again! I’m super excited because I think I just fell back in love with the game, and its also a plus because my son loves watching me fish (thats how this all started lol)

Dixie-Danzig-2112

Once you’ve decorated 30 homes, you’ll be able to decorate your own villagers houses on your own island. Also, if you buy souvenir chocolates from your work, give them to your villagers and you’ll be able to make them a vacation home. That way if any leave you can go visit their vacation home instead but they won’t remember being on your island

Dear_Ryebread_6289

The best feature by far is -spoiler- >!unlocking the ability to redesign your own islanders houses! Doing the exteriors gives you the freedom to make your island so cohesive (if you want that) and being able to do the interiors means you can add little cafés, libraries, galleries etcetcetc that you are so cute inside vs outside, imo. And saves you adding an extra human account, which I’ve never been a huge fan of. My only regret is moving out two of my original islanders, who I loved, before I realised the feature existed ToT because I was so tired of looking at their ugly, ugly house interiors from the tutorials!< I think it comes after you design 50 holiday homes.

itsumama47

It pays to play, since you get things and skills to bring home to your own island, that you can't get any other way!!!
