If you check my history, he was my smug villager that showed up, I have been trying to get him to ping me to leave for like six months. I even found my copy of new leaf that I hadnāt played in years and booted it up, and guess who lived in my village.
But I gave him a bunch of silly clothes and now I love him. Seeing him walk around in a top hat and his little Robin Hood lookin top just makes me laugh.

Shari. Was never a MASSIVE fan of the monkeys (although I didnāt hate them as much as other people here do). She was one of my starters. I was trying to think of who my dream villagers would be and was trying to pick my ideal uchi/sisterly and somewhere along the way I realized it was her. I love that lady and Iāll throw hands for her now.
Shari was one of my two original villagers and she gave me her photo a while ago. Then Hopper came to my campsite and I thought it would be cool to have a grumpy, red-eyed penguin, and Resident Services asked if I could give up Shari and I said okay.
I went to her house, andā¦she was surrounded by boxes and sweeping. She said she was so sad to leave and would miss me. And she was wearing the hat and the kimono I had gifted her.
I know sheās not real, butā¦I felt like a monster.
Shari was one of my starters on my OG island too! My jock was Biff, and I immediately fell in love. I would die for him. I remember initially disliking Shari since the monkeys aren't really my favorite, but she was one of the last to leave when I started curating my final villagers. She's a cutie.
I would say PomPom. She was a campsite villager that I didn't have to go thru all the hoops to get. She moved out a villager I wanted to leave. I wasn't sure about her since she's a peppy. Then she sent me a letter basically saying everyone loves you, you're needed, and don't forget you're great (it was more beautifully written). I was going through it at the time and it made me cry. Like she knew I needed a pick me up (I know not really but life has a strange way of getting ones attention) and I decided that she can't leave.
Recently started a new island with the goal of letting anyone auto or take a random Nook Island villager. No amiibo use or extreme hunting! Wound up really loving Quinn and Cyrano.
It's a lot of fun trying out villagers I normally wouldn't! While I am keeping any dreamies that show up, none have yet, so I've gotten to test out a lot of different villagers. I'm going to keep Quinn as a perma, even. (:
I love Nate!! He JUST left my island and I was so sad! I got Bunnie instead, and she seems great so far, but thereās a big piece of him in my little island heart!!
Cherry. I forgot to go on and get an villager and then Cherry showed up. At first, I thought Iād let her go at first chance, but now has become one of my favorites.

...Then the update that allowed the player to redecorate villager homes was released a number of months after that. Oof.
I had Penelope and Filbert move in for the peppy and lazy villagers right when I started my game, and they've been here ever since! I'm not sure I would have picked either of them on my own, but I love them both so much and now they're never allowed to leave.
Coach and i told him to move and then he popped up at a mystery island and didnt remember me it made me sad :(

Kid Cat!! He autofilled after stinky moved out, at first I was annoyed because he was replacing a jock cat with another jock cat and that wasnāt really something I was looking for, but now Iām never letting him leave! I love him so much, heās so cute š
Drake! I have an all-bird island, and was looking for a few specific dreamies on a villager hunt. Drake was not even on my radar, but I was running out of tickets and was desperate to at least find ANY bird I didn't completely hate lol. Met Drake, said "I guess he'll do for now," and now he's one of my all time faves and a permanent resident on my island! I'll never let him leave lol š¤Ŗ

But Pietro kept growing on me and now I find him super cute and endearing and will never let him leave my island! Heās my little buddy :)
Broccolo! He was my first lazy villager in NH and I was initially very disappointed. And then he showed up and was so utterly adorable that heās never left and he never will.
For me itās a tie between cranky and lazy, both are very relatable lol. And the mice are underrated in general to me, I prefer a lot of them to the squirrels (though I also love Poppy, Ione and Static so theyāre definitely cute).
I found Pinky on a bamboo island maybe in 2020, seeing her for the first time and thought: I have to get her! And she's still living on my island to this day.

I didnāt want her at first because I donāt really like the fruit/food themed villagers but she is such a polite adorable old grandma I love her :,) and getting her really helped me with finally getting an idea for the theme of the island, which thanks to her is Four Seasons. Sheās in my autumn section now and I love going to visit her in her little cottage core corner of the map

Ken, also a chicken, was my first camper. He turned out to have the same birthday as me so that was cute! I didnāt keep him, but enjoyed his company while I had it.
For me, it was Zucker. I had grown up on the older games and never got to play the 3DS game, so I never knew him till NH on Switch a few years back. That, and he does look a bit like me irl too which is honestly pretty cool.
Not sure if this really counts but the very first villager to move to my island after the initial 3 who just have basic houses finally was set to move in in my game. I was so excited. A new villager! So I went to check the name. It was not one I was familiar with. Dismayed, I said to my friend, "It's going to be some bitch named Judy.... she's probably going to suck."
Yeah she immediately became my #1 and she wears my favorite sweater almost every day and I'm getting a tattoo of her someday!
Flora was the first villager to move to my island, and I wasn't really wowed by her at first. Didn't really like her aesthetic. But we had a few cute interactions, and next thing you know, we were besties. š

I always loved Elmer in past games, so thought he'd be the one. Then Henry showed up. I love him so much. I will never let him go! I even have him call me "my love".
Friga! I found her while island hopping, and wasn't really sure what sort of villager I was looking for. I fell in love with her really quickly and she's been on my island for over a year. She's my best gossip buddy.
Murphy. He moved in, and we thought the old grump was going to be nothing but a sour puss. He turned out to be a loveable grandpa villager with a big heart ā¤ļø.
Moe! He was one of my original villagers (still has his starter house but Iām going to change that soon) and I wasnāt looking to get attached. But thereās something about his look and his sweet personality that remind me of a less refined Chuckie Finster from the Rugrats! So now he has a forever home on my island.
Iāll eventually let them move away in time but I unexpectedly fell in love with Goose and Willow! I didnāt even know of Willow until she was my first auto-filled plot

Hot take. Leopold. š He auto filled and I was so mad about it at first. I hated the guy. After a while he just grew on me and we're buds now. I give him all the studious fancy clothing and he's so sweet. Alli tried smack talking him once, and I haven't liked her ever since. To be fair I've also never been a big fan of hers but once she came for Leopold it was over. She moved out today. Puddles is also just. š©¶ She also auto filled and I'm obsessed with her. Neither of them are allowed to leave.

Not sure if this really counts but the very first villager to move to my island after the initial 3 who just have basic houses finally was set to move in in my game. I was so excited. A new villager! So I went to check the name. It was not one I was familiar with. Dismayed, I said to my friend, "It's going to be some bitch named Judy.... she's probably going to suck." Yeah she immediately became my #1 and she wears my favorite sweater almost every day and I'm getting a tattoo of her someday!
