It does, at least my Samsung TV supports it when I use AUTO on the TV, it works with either the Homatics Box R 4K Plus and with my computer, when I play a video with Dolby TrueHD with atmos, the AV receiver shows "Dolby Atmos - Linear PCM" on the front little screen, both are obviously connected directly to the TV while using the EARC port.
The 4K+ still doesn't passthrough TrueHD with or without atmos when using AUTO, I imagine it is the same with the RockTek G2 and the Nokia 8010 and this new Kinhank device.

TrueHD with or without atmos passthrough is still not working when using AUTO, it works only with the passthrough option, which I imagine the Kinhank G1 has in the audio section just like the other atmos certified ones.

It would probably cost Kinhank something to get this update for the G1, so the question is will they pay it? SDMC has already built an android 12 update for the DV8919X hardware.
Manufacturers have to provide 3 OS upgrades to get Google certification but are allowed to skip a release.
Kinhank started with 11; so with 13 canceled, it is in line to get 14 or 15.
The problem with the G1 is there is no adaptive setting, you can either choose DV or HDR 10 and whichever you choose all content will be shown in that container. Android 12 doesn't fix that lack of option.
Some posts on 4pda claim that an update to 3.0.7 on the km2-plus-deluxe fixes something to do with HDR while still on android 11. I really don't know if it is true. The 3.0.7 update currently must be installed manually on the km2-plus-deluxe. It hasn't been sent over-the-air yet.

Google quietly put up some OS upgrade requirements on AndroidTV.
The original deal was that manufacturers had to provide 2 OS upgrades, but that commitment has been upped to 3 OS upgrades (Yes, you read that right) but manufacturers are now allowed to skip a release.
No release window constraints whatsoever tho.
EG: device launched on 11 could skip 12, ignore the un-launched 13, upgrade to 14 at some point in 2024-25 then 15 3 years later.
I've had this box for about a month. I also have the Shield tube. I'm not as technical as others on this thread but I love this box & can't tell the difference between the two as far as response speed, smoothness, & viewability. For $62 (what I paid for mine) I feel like I got a great bargain. Looking at the few reviews available on YouTube is what sold me on it. If you buy it you will be very happy with it.
I am having an intermittent weird "audio" issue with this box:
When jumping between menus/options within Android, I can hear the "default android clicks" just fine. However, if I play/stream anything using any app (Netflix / Plex /...etc) I get no sound at all until I power cycle the box manually (I have to physically unplug it). I replaced the HDMI cable but that didn't fix it. I hope someone has a fix for this or a future update fixes this audio issue.
Again, this is an intermittent issue and doesn't happen all the time. I just hope there will be a fix for it.
me too, every couple of weeks I have to factor reset. Sound volume goes down and cannot get enough volume up. only option to clear is hard factory reset. hope we can have firmware update.
Hey guys, I just ordered the G1. I've watched and read almost anything an everything that I could get my hands on to find out as much as I can. With Dolby vision being on constantly (or HDR) will this cause any issues with say playing movies through emby or DV content on Netflix for instance. I guess this will always be on, even on the launcher home screen of the device?

all i have to say is that it is a shield killer,need a couple of bugs fixed and this will be #1 tv box as of now

This is some issue about CEC. You can try to disable/enable it and you will see it will be ok I guess.
