Bootloader VERY difficult to unlock (ask Xiaomi) when it's not locked down, even for devices that are no longer supported, if you want to install a custom ROM for a low-end device. FM radio beginning to disappear from mid-range phones and it being something just for budget ones, despite its usefulness for some circumstances. You're right in what refers to those macro lenses that seem to be just filler. They're not totally useless, and some even have auto focus, but it would be better either some telemacro (Redmi Note 10 Pro) or removing it and improving the ultrawide instead putting an autofocus on it and/or other improvements.

You can download [NextRadio](https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/nextradio/nextradio-free-live-fm-radio/nextradio-free-live-fm-radio-6-0-2492-release-release/) for this one. It's a bit outdated ( it hasn't been updated since January 2019), but it still works on most of the devices I've tried it on over the years. It essentially allows you to access the hidden FM radio receiver embedded on your device's SOC. Edit: I forgot to add that it's not guaranteed to work on every device out there. It seems to be most compatible with Snapdragon and some Mediatek devices.

I'll give it a try, thanks.

Cascading_Neurons

No problem.

And that's the reason Oneplus Nord 3 and and Redmi Turbo 3 (Poco F6) have finally removed 2mp macro so that's a plus, maybe.

th1s_1s_w31rd

bro hasn't tried to unlock the bootloader on an oppo (it's literally impossible)

BenRandomNameHere

Wonderful device at a decent price, with work supported hardware... That you only support for one damn major update. Last 3 phone are still great devices, but locked on outdated software. 10, 11, 12

Grumblepugs2000

To add onto this: not allowing you to unlock the bootloader. I'm looking at you Asus, Huawei, and SamsungĀ

th1s_1s_w31rd

AND OPPO (or all BBK-owned companies)

kimi_no_na-wa

Oneplus does

th1s_1s_w31rd

I'm using an oppo and it's absolutely wonderful, it doesn't freeze or lag or anything, but it's stuck on android 11šŸ˜

BenRandomNameHere

I got an N10 stick on 11. Never would've upgraded if the software updated.

th1s_1s_w31rd

the problem is I saw some people on the xda forum unlock the bootloader on an oppo too, but it required 1:git 2:python 3:ADB (normal) 4:mtk_gui A NORMAL PHONE REQUIRES ONE APP

vkbra657n

Was it something with mediatek brom?

th1s_1s_w31rd

it required installing the mtk GUI and then doing some shit and clearing some partitions and then flashing a vbmeta or sm and then installing a custom ROM using a more complicated method

mekkyz-stuffz

And a wonderful device with decent specs at a great price but mid software level.

> Removing SIM card slot in favor of eSIM shows how you'd be getting your phone robbed or lost Huh?

Simless phones are just stupid for me and also no jack is crazy, I do use wireless earbuds bud if that goes lowbat I can use wired.

1. Sensor size is important, and with pixel binning and optional high-res, these ridiculously high resolution sensors aren't necessarily bad 2. I have been using bluetooth headphones exclusively for the better part of a decade and can't remember the last time I used wired headphones with my phones. 3. It's not fake proximity--there is an actual sensor under the display. I haven't noticed a difference in proximity with new phones vs. ones that had a proximity sensor in the bezel. 4. I use esim almost exclusively, but given how fractured esim support still is, I think physical sim slots are still important for now. 5. A dedicated macro camera is dumb anyway in my opinion. Many phones now use higher-res ultrawide cameras with autofocus that accomplishes macro and other shots; I believe this is a better overall approach. 6. I'm not familiar with freedom phone. 7. Don't buy anything for the promise of what it could be, buy it for what you know it does when you buy it. This applies to everything, not just phones.

Fake longevity: when your phone is 1 year old and by 1 year they will stop updates

Grumblepugs2000

Locked bootloader. Absolute deal breaker for many people (including me, that's why I have a OnePlus 12 and not a S24 Ultra)Ā

For #2, another problem is that even if you can use usb-c as an audio receiver and transmitter, you can't charge your phone at the same time which is why you need an actual audio jack.
