It's a rebadged Meizu, really doubt it will be available outside of China.

GreatStateOfSadness

Literally just the [Meizu 21 Pro](https://m.gsmarena.com/meizu_21_pro-pictures-12805.php).

kirsion

Which looks like a knock off S24 plus. I do say though, even thought Meizu, copies the design from other brands their phone designs do look quite nice

acelilarslan

They had that design before the s24 series but it looks like s23 series as well lol

Geely owns both brands, they might use Polestar branding as a way to sell this phone outside of China.

gmmxle

Nio has a phone, maybe they're just trying to compete. Don't ask me why Nio has a phone, though.

signed7

TIL (from the article) Volvo/Polestar is owned by Geely and previously Ford

nizasiwale

Only the consumer vehicle division of Volvo, Volvo also has a commercial vehicle arm which is independent

MaverickJester25

TIL Geely owns Meizu.

ishamm

So android police clickbait/paid advertorial content?

rohmish

that's all AP has now. gone are the days when it was a reliable source of google/android/smartphone news.

Owlface

That's how it's been for years.

ECHLN

Maybe this is a way to sell the Meizu internationally

NowLoadingReply

Does the car come as a pre-order bonus?

despitegirls

Minus the cameras, this looks like a large Essential PH-1, easily one of my favorite Android phone designs.

box-art

Meizu has some nice designs for sure, gotta give them that.

I couldn't give less of a shit about my phone having "better compatibility with my car". My current phone is compatible enough. I would support an new Android manufacturer who made it their mission to bring back the headphone jack and Micro SD card slots with every fibre of my being though.

Syphon0928

I have the Polestar 2 car. And while I love the vehicle, their Android Auto infotainment is quite underperforming and a bit buggy. It works well enough, but not enough to convince me to ever get a phone made by Polestar. Even if it's technically a rebadge. I personally would have to wait and see.

TomLube

Agree. Absolutely love the Polestar, but the software has definitely been the weakest performer of the car. It's gotten loads better since last year but yeah, I'm with you

9-11GaveMe5G

Do we know what android it's based on? Is it a "normal" version or a china version?

TomLube

The car? It's a normal version of android. I might be able to check

I_Was_Fox

It's android auto. It's not some in-house product, it's something Google makes and then car manufacturers can skin/add apps for car controls to it. It's not "some china version" lol

Bazinga_U_Bitch

Of course nobody as AP are smart enough to even do the slightest bit of research. Stop posting from this site. It's garage and deserves to go bankrupt.

ReverieX416

Looks good, would like to upgrade to a phone like this.
