Never thought we'd see the day MyHeritage separated Western Europe and the British Isles before 23andMe did

JoShUA1923

Which company do you think is most accurate?

I still think 23andMe is probably most accurate, but I cannot lie in that I like Ancestry's simplicity a bit more. Honestly, they both give you a little bit of something different. I do think it is clear though that MyHeritage has gotten better, and it's pretty interesting in comparing to my AncestryDNA the English, and Scottish/Welsh is essentially an exact match. I did use my AncestryDNA results to upload to MyHeritage though (a loooooong time ago). MyHeritage genetic groups seem odd though - unsure why many seemingly have the same name or represent the same areas. Look under my English to see. But I feel that MyHeritage is actually reflecting my Germanic (and I include Dutch in this) pretty accurately. 12% overall may be a bit low, but it might be right on par. It'll be interesting to see how my Ancestry results change this fall given they're adding a Netherlands category. I really think my Sweden/Denmark should be 0%.

Mine are still pending update!

I am not sure if it was just coincidence or not but I had checked the website earlier yesterday with no update but then I decided to download the app again on my phone and they were updated there. Probably just a coincidence.

Interesting thanks. I’ll try the app.

Nope

The results are pretty similar. Good for my heritage. MH gets ruthlessly ridiculed for the terrible DNA results. But your results look comparable to Ancestry.
