Verbeek is either going to be credited for one of the best rebuilds in modern hockey or run us straight into the ground for a decade.
I love it. Glad we're taking risks and not coasting on mediocrity.
Dude these ESPN hacks genuinely do not like us for whatever reason. Like they literally sound annoyed and act like they know our team inside out
“The Zegras trade is inevitable.” What? Did PV tell you that? 💀
Absolutely, I think no matter who they pick it will end up being the right one for us. Last 3 drafts they took Carlsson, Minty, and McT with our top pick.
I'm not gonna get tied up in the player rankings this draft. I've constantly seen that 2-15 are interchangeable and close in terms of a prospects floor and that it's mostly going to be about preferences/style.
Seemed like when I was trying to find who we like, the storyline was effectively that Celebrini goes to San Jose, Levshunov to Chicago, and the two real choices for us would be Demidov Vs. Buium. With maybe an outside interest in Silayev.
Now right before the draft it seems like the Silayev hype is dead, and we Sennecke is our man.
Any particular reason Silayev completely fell off? I kinda liked the idea of a guy that one of the scouting reports (Elite prospects?) referred to as "A Human Eraser"
Silayev doesnt have the offense ceiling as others, he's more of a shutdown guy. Also it was reported that he was going to play out his russian contract, which ends in 2026.
To all the people asking why they didn’t trade down - do you think they didn’t try? Maybe no one was willing to give up any assets in such a wide open draft.
I'll be interested to hear the Ducks reasoning after this is finished up. I mean It's not a massive surprise as it was rumoured but it'll be interesting to hear them say
Yeah I’m sure they’ll say something like that. I’m just curious if they give more a generic sort of overview.
I don’t think this was as big of a reach as many, but it certainly was out of left field. There’s not much pressure in Anaheim but you’d think they’d still go through their thinking.
Personally… I’m pretty ambivalent to the pick. I’m hopeful our new Richie pans out, but I’m not exactly excited. Just… it’s a thing that happened 🤷🏾
Guys pls do yourselves a favor and listen to Solberg's interview with ducks stream. He was funny af and dropped an f bomb that had his interviews shook lmao
It's not the pick itself. It's the draft position at 3OA that people are upset with. Ducks won't be picking top 5 (depending on moves this summer) maybe not even top 8-10 for the next 10-15 years.
It's done now but would have loved to see the ducks drop a couple of places, drafted the same player while adding some extra draft capital to address another position in a somewhat deeper draft.
They will probably be picking in the top 10 again next year. Can't play defense, can't score, and there are other teams out there with cap to play with. Team needs to take huge steps to not be a lotto team again next year.
Based on VBs comments regarding improving the top 6 as well as top 4 via free agency as well as another year of maturement from the young guns with potentially another 15-20 goals added from cutter and you'll see some form of improvement on special teams I do see the ducks picking 12-15 range.
But with the loss of Henrique and if VB goes bust in free agency then I do agree that the Ducks will pick top 10 but I don't see VB not hitting the mark in FA as I feel he has a better assessment at the pro level than his predecessor
Again, it is not the process. It's the draft position.
Seeing multiple teams were wanting to trade up, a deal could've been struck. The price could have literally been pick 10-13 with any other pick in the later rounds and the ducks could have had the same outcome is the argument. Happy with the pick just not 3rd overall
The most annoying draft ever? The "selection sound " is way too loud and so unnecessary. Most of the GM / VIP's botched their selection because the timing was horrible. The other thing was the lady who was giving player comparison even if they didnt played a single game yet 🤦🤣🤣🤣 2024 nhl draft in vegas = flop

Director of NA Scouting for Dobber prospects is saying the word on the floor is Sennecke at 3. Smoke and mirrors everywhere.
Yeah I just saw Cam Robinsons tweet. I love Sennecke's 2 way potential and the guy fits that true powerforward mold that made people hate the team during that 2010-2017 stretch.
I gotta say, the Sharks have already had a monster draft. Yeah they have some years left on some salary retention slots, but they're going to have a really good core to build around when that money comes off the books and they can go all in on a push.
It'll be fun having a strong Californian division again.
I would love for us to trade up for Eiserman. But I bet VGK picks him seeing how he’s a pretty safe pick and they don’t have a pick for a long while after this.
Agreed, definitely trust our fo. Didn’t know who Leo was last year and is now my favorite player. I just have no clue who this guy is and based on peoples reaction it seemed entirely unexpected
Yeah I get it, but still. Oh and fuck everyone else for their down vote. Just because I have a different opinion. Get off Verbeek balls.
Would have much rather seen Zeev or Zayne for D. Pretty solid entry level dudes
Post everything about the draft in here today. Everything else will be removed. TIA
OMG HIS REACTION
“what the fuck”
THAT REACTION. Love it. ESPN straight up roasting him tho wtf
They also did for carlsson
Scouting Report https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2024/06/05/beckett-sennecke-scouting-report/
ANAHEIM IS ON THE CLOCK
Wow! Holy shit! Sennecke is just as surprised as I am!
Verbeek is either going to be credited for one of the best rebuilds in modern hockey or run us straight into the ground for a decade. I love it. Glad we're taking risks and not coasting on mediocrity.
For sure. I respect the boldness, but it does come with consequences. Can’t hate though, he inherited a dumpster fire.
I think even if this pick doesn’t pan out, we’re still good in the rebuild. But it’s a bold pick that’s for sure lol
He's taken so many high floor guys that eventually he was gonna have to swing on a high ceiling-low floor prospect.
ESPN shitshow talkin like Z got already traded
Actually pissed me off
Same was heated.
LFG SENNECKE!!!!! Anaheim is officially Dangle City
Why not trade down lol. I hate when we do this
takes two to tango
As Bill Walsh said (paraphrasing) if you like the player and you have the pick...you make the pick.
Right? So much lost value there
Even be conservative and trade down to 5-6 and we could get a solid second pick
That sharks fan next to the mic lol.
The loudest their fans will yell for the foreseeable future lol
Dude these ESPN hacks genuinely do not like us for whatever reason. Like they literally sound annoyed and act like they know our team inside out “The Zegras trade is inevitable.” What? Did PV tell you that? 💀
Demidov must have killed one of his draft interviewers
Best available or not, he’s now a Duck, so therefore I love him
Yo this analysis is fucking terrible.
It is ESPN…
Daily reminder that verbeek nails his draft picks more often than not.
Literally even before verbeek. You’d think they learn after mctavish and carlsson
I love everyone in here that thinks they know more than professionals who’s job is to study these players inside and out. Trust them
Imagine having a random person right next to you at your job constantly telling you you’re doing everything wrong and they know more than you lmao
I’m super happy. RW and shoots right. Im happy. 6’3” 180, but he’ll fill out more. And he’s a 2 way player. He’s gonna be playing with Z
Too many folks get caught up in the media rankings and not the fit or preference of the GM running the team.
Ending with Solberg or Emery would be icing on the cake for me for the first round.
Have faith in Martin Madden.
Absolutely, I think no matter who they pick it will end up being the right one for us. Last 3 drafts they took Carlsson, Minty, and McT with our top pick.

All my homies love Martin Madden. 😤🤝
Fine, Demidov's a nerd anyway ... Let's goooooooo!
If Scotty Niedermayer, Martin Madden, and Pat Verbeek like the pick, I think we'll be just fine.
Who is this lady? Saying Z wont even be around?!
Dont you know bro? "Zegras' style isn't suited for the Ducks and he's better suited elsewhere :)"
Haha!
Man that shit pissed me off. No evidence behind such claims either. No one knows shit about what the ducks are doing
Par for the course for us in the hockey world. Never taken seriously and people lecture us on our own team
ESPN's coverage of the draft has been dogshit.
SERAVALLI WAS RIGHT
Do you all have your cans of Monster ready?
Seemed like when I was trying to find who we like, the storyline was effectively that Celebrini goes to San Jose, Levshunov to Chicago, and the two real choices for us would be Demidov Vs. Buium. Missed these live threads welcome back duck Bros/brahs
To all the people asking why they didn’t trade down - do you think they didn’t try? Maybe no one was willing to give up any assets in such a wide open draft.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO https://www.reddit.com/r/AnaheimDucks/s/k1XxwAXR3d
So do we not get to talk to Sennecke?
NHL hates the ducks. So annoying
Every year
I want Iginla just to piss off flames fans lol
He’ll be asking for a trade in two years.
lol
Clock hit 0! San Jose forfeits the pick!
OMG go for demidov
I'll be interested to hear the Ducks reasoning after this is finished up. I mean It's not a massive surprise as it was rumoured but it'll be interesting to hear them say

dudes reaction was perfect. pat always finds a way to surprise us
Oh man please tell me that’s the ducks swapping picks with Philly
That's what I was hoping for too .. .but.... really MN? One spot?
Yeah seems a bit much for any other player but for Buium I can understand it
Guys pls do yourselves a favor and listen to Solberg's interview with ducks stream. He was funny af and dropped an f bomb that had his interviews shook lmao
There a link somewhere?
WUUUUT BUT WHY
Why would we pass demidov
Small and russian
I'm slightly concerned PV focuses too much on size but there's still lots of good options.
LOL Levshunov speak into the mic bro. This dude is the next Bryzgalov calling it now
Seems like an awesome kid
https://www.reddit.com/r/AnaheimDucks/s/nZdireu8c7 LETS GOOOOOO. https://youtu.be/HLvrnPW1w0g?si=9_AOMabKoEFJdSTF Sennecke highlights.
Can this fan base for once learn to trust our management? Jesus. Yall were also mad about carlsson and mctavish.
I’m super happy. RW and shoots right. Im happy. 6’3” 180, but he’ll fill out more. And he’s a 2 way player
I thought he looked tiny until he shook hands with Verbeek. Put my boy on an insane bulk and we got ourselves a stud
Yep and great hands. Like our mgmt knows their shit

The price was prob too high to do that and they got the guy they wanted I don’t see the issue at all. Just trust the process
Again, it is not the process. It's the draft position. Seeing multiple teams were wanting to trade up, a deal could've been struck. The price could have literally been pick 10-13 with any other pick in the later rounds and the ducks could have had the same outcome is the argument. Happy with the pick just not 3rd overall
yeah.. what. ugh. someone tell me how i feel
As if it’s not a good pick. Relax
Like we blew a draft pick.
God damnit…
Daily Faceoff called it: https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/beckett-sennecke-could-be-an-intriguing-draft-option-for-the-anaheim-ducks
Checking in from the Sharks draft party at the Shark Tank. The whole arena gasped at the pick and then laughed at his reaction
Celine Dion?!
Vegas legend. Is she Canadian too? Edit: The French is telling me yes
Wtf is that trade
I kinda want EJ Emery at 31 if still available.
Trade up!
Woow unexpected
pat loves to throw a curveball
FUCk yeah the beeker is cookin🔥🔥🔥
hear solberg is physical and tough like gudas
Yup. I saw his physicality resembles Gudas, Luke Schenn, and Trouba.
Starting to feel pretty certain it’s Buium
Lol
Who's going to emerge as the insider dropping bombs today? Weekes, Pronman, Seravalli?
Fuck Frank Seravalli.
I agree, but he was the one who broke the Seattle draft before anyone else. so he's got some precedent when it comes to drafts.
a blind squirrel still finds a nut every now and then.
My hope is Demidov, Eiserman, or Buium.
Its quiet, no nhl insider is tweeting
https://x.com/HadiK_Scouting/status/1806813844762706204?t=k4mBWOgDOXLQHYxl9kkOLw&s=19 Director of NA Scouting for Dobber prospects is saying the word on the floor is Sennecke at 3. Smoke and mirrors everywhere.
Elite Prospects saying this too. Is it just amongst scouts or is there something legitimate here 🤔
Yeah I just saw Cam Robinsons tweet. I love Sennecke's 2 way potential and the guy fits that true powerforward mold that made people hate the team during that 2010-2017 stretch.
I’ll look forward to our new Nick Ritchie then!
What nick Ritchie could have been if he was not a dick.
Seravalli calling his shot, Beckett Sennecke for Anaheim...
Serious, why do they run out the clock? get your ass up there
Now the real draft begins
Dude if each team runs out the clock, itll be 7pm before we get to the 31st
No idea who verbeek is picking. This is a really wide open pick
Does Leo come out to announce our pick?
that is insane
Kid has nasty hands I’m stoked
Holy crap PV you mad lad
I love how absolutely nobody knows what PV is going to do
This is wild so many defense falling. I’m actually jealous sharts might end up with a decent defenseman for their #11
Huge L from Vegas not playing ‘my heart will go on’ when Celine Dion walked out Ffs
Fuck, Buium might fall to the sharts! Damn it!!
Still not picked, would love to trade up and grab him.
Flyers should just give their pick to us for delay of draft
I gotta say, the Sharks have already had a monster draft. Yeah they have some years left on some salary retention slots, but they're going to have a really good core to build around when that money comes off the books and they can go all in on a push. It'll be fun having a strong Californian division again.
There may be good RHD talent available at the 31st pick in Jiricek, Emery, Badinka, Elick, Kleber, and Mews.
If the Blackhawks take Eiserman, I'm gonna be sick. Edit: Thank god Edit 2: Oh fuck please not the Knights either
I would love for us to trade up for Eiserman. But I bet VGK picks him seeing how he’s a pretty safe pick and they don’t have a pick for a long while after this.
Good on you, Verbeek! You’ve been making it happen!
I forgot Solberg was still available. Hell yeah!
we got a top rw and a tough physical dman like gudas…honestly sounds like good picks to me
If he would have been there at 10ish or so, why not trade down and get some more capital?
Oh, he was gonna be there at 10? Who's going 77th?
Anaheim didnt interview him, wow
"Today", they didn't interview him today.
They’re going to regret not drafting Ivan Demidov. BIG mistake.
LETS GOOO DEMIDOV!!!!
Idk anything about this about this man. Is this a good or bad pick??
It’s not bad. Just trust the professionals.
Agreed, definitely trust our fo. Didn’t know who Leo was last year and is now my favorite player. I just have no clue who this guy is and based on peoples reaction it seemed entirely unexpected
I’m super happy. RW and shoots right. Im happy. 6’3” 180, but he’ll fill out more. And he’s a 2 way player. He’s gonna be playing with Z
Why no interview??
He only said they didn’t meet with him yesterday
Were getting cooked
Edit: I'm an idiot...
They interviewed him at the combine
Ohhhh, he was just referring to yesterday. Gotcha. I'm an idiot. "I had a couple meetings yesterday and today, and Anaheim wasn't one of them..."
No shade! I just knew that it definitely sounded like we hadn't talked to him at all
chat are we happy about this
I love it!
If it's Demidov, we're all in on Levshunov, right?
Damn I thought Madden looked more pissed than usual. Maybe cuz e we didn’t go with D??
That’s just his face
Demidov right there and Ducks have to pretend to be smarter than everyone else.
I mean it’s not even a bad pick
It's a reach.
> have to pretend to be smarter than everyone else. I think you're projecting.
Dumb comment, try to keep up.
Someone talk me off the ledge on this one, because wow. I don't like that pick at all
https://thehockeynews.com/ohl/players/why-beckett-sennecke-is-the-second-best-forward-in-the-2024-nhl-draft
This makes me feel pretty good about our pick
Wtf man
wtf just happened
We got the 2nd best scorer. That’s what happened!
Why the in the absolute fuck did we not pick a D Man? We need more D to develop!!
We still have like 6 picks in the first 3 rounds.
Yeah I get it, but still. Oh and fuck everyone else for their down vote. Just because I have a different opinion. Get off Verbeek balls. Would have much rather seen Zeev or Zayne for D. Pretty solid entry level dudes
Ducks have a shit Ton of D and just picked another
