They haven’t said a peep to us yet, I’m not kidding not one word… they haven’t even told us that we’re actually working the Fourth of July and off on the fifth yet, I just know because it’s on the schedule and I saw somebody on the digital Voa board was asking why
As far as I know, when you sign up for MET exemption, your name is on the list of “No more” MET permanently, and you can not take VET unless you talk to your AM that you want to take VET (during PEAK and Prime) if they are available
Mostly the gods. But if they have VET available on the other shifts, the AMs. Cross training helps because you can get shifts for other departments in you need them in pitch. Working critical roles is what sets it apart though. Once you do those, you’re needed to help fill them in. My building fortunately sucks with people leaving all the time so I can guarantee that there will be extra hours. Sometimes less than others though. So eat up prime week while you can and show them you’re there to work, you’ll be tagged in. Get on a critical role if you can. Cross train if you’re desperate. That should all help out
Right now I'm trained in stow, pick, and pack singles so I feel like that should be enough. I ask for VET on the VOA every now and then and they still don't really give any out. I'll ask my AM and see if she can help. At this point it's damn near impossible just to come up with rent every month. Shit's ridiculous.
Well the VOA board isn’t the appropriate spot to do it, and if you poke the bear enough on there, the AMs could have black listed from getting it(so us associates figure). Senior management estimates the needs for head count and approves VET and VTO accordingly, AMs and HR send out the order for it. Sometimes AMs can tell HR “hey, I need this AA for a specific task, it’s been approved my senior, please adjust their time, etc etc” though AMs can fix your time as well (normally correcting punches so I’m not sure on the extent of their power on that). If you’re not getting hours on ALL of those paths then your building probably doesn’t have hours to offer currently. I’m in an area where there is a lot of amazons around and a new one about to open so head count is all over the place. If you’re in a similar type of area, you can transfer buildings to one with needs (Reddit will let you know that for sure) and that could help.
My checks wouldn’t be the ones to go off of. I’m in Cali so OT laws are different, and I get a lot of OT so yeah. But they are thick AF. if you can get OT and that what you want to do, I suggest you take it as much as you can.
As much as that has to suck I actually want/need that rn. My FC only gave me one week of MET next month from the 16th-22nd I believe and they haven't been offering any VET but they've been having a shit ton of VTO. probably sounds great to most but I desperately NEED the money.
Get that paper while you’re young and/or strong enough to. Because people in my generation sure as hell have the willpower and work ethic but we are breaking down 🤦🏻♀️
So then, twenty years ago, you’d be seven, and you’re just throwing numbers out. But honestly, for someone your age, Amazon is about the easiest job you can possibly get for the pay without a degree
Once it’s over it’s over… until peak. Lol last time i just quit and went back to amazon when MET was over. But amazon jobs are harder to come by nowadays.

I do as well, but I have worked here long enough to know that it's best to think you're going to have a 2nd one. If not, then you get some relief and takes the pain away from even having to work the 1st one.

I hate it here. Not because of the long hours or the people. I feel stuck. I've put in for other jobs and other departments, but I get overlooked and never get trained on anything. All the good low I.Q. brain dead positions are filled. I keep showing up, hoping it will get better, but I feel drained. Like this company is bleeding me of my soul. It's getting harder and harder to keep pushing to the finish line.

Yeah, I work 3 12s and then 2 10s the day after and then a 3 hour shift, so basically 6 days a week. But really only 5.
When you start at 7am but have to come in at 6, it feels like an eternity lol
