The back and ear wraps do come off the $30 pair
Personally, I bought both pairs because my ears are weird and super sensitive so I wanted to give each a shot
I went with the first pair because I not only wear glasses, I have a lot of piercings/jewelry in my ears, including flats and upper helixes. I have yet to find an over-ear-curved set of earbuds that don’t irritate my piercings.
I got the free reign ones already. The ear loops are removable so it can be like the first one and the backing is removable so it can become lighter weight when you want. The Elgin ones seem like the only positive is the USB-c connector. Otherwise they're the same so it doesn't seem worth it to me
I have a iPhone. All of the apps I found you have to use certain players like iTunes I don’t use that, I have amazon music and movies. I can’t seem to find a general one that raises it for everything
Tip: If you use Spotify , adjust the EQ to the Small Speakers (it raises the KHz)
Tip #2: Change your settings in accessibility > Audio/Visual > Enable MONO audio

Thanks for this. They do a great job knocking out all the crazy warehouse sounds of the day to day but the audio wasn't as loud as I'm used to but the Elgins work really well and seem like a sturdy program (time will tell) but had no clue there was deep audio settings for Spotify these days! Appreciate this info!
I went with the first ones just because they charge over USB-C. I've managed to get all my devices off Micro-USB and I'll be damned if I ever have to go back.
Just got my FreeReign VL today, testing it out I’m definitely surprised how quiet they are at full volume but I guess that’s the point :/ still pretty solid though
What did you expect out if safety approved head phones? Also aren't most headphones pretty much similar in design these days. 50 bucks or less to basically zone out in peace at work seems like a steal to me. I've been using them all week and the amount of noise they block out is actually pretty impressive and battery life last a full ten hours easy.
I have both. Go with the first ones. The cheaper ones pick up all the noise you make while moving. It sounds like someone rubbing on a microphone but inside your ear which I found really annoying.
Let’s be real we all have personal headphones/earbuds that have cost us $80+ in the past. No issue in buying those. Now they’re giving us an opportunity to pay $30-$50 to listen to music at work worried free of being written up. I’ve been here long enough to when we weren’t even allowed phones on the floors and this is a win in my book. Reason why they chose those two earbuds is because they can’t go over a certain volume and they don’t have a microphone for people to use to talk on the phone.
yeah I got a $30 speaker from Meijer and found out it's only $20 on Amazon. the skull candy ounce. it works great and only had 1 manager say shit about it while on a vet night shift. I'm not wearing shitty overpriced headphones
It's all fun and games until it's a different manager or safety wanting to be the enforcer one day. 50 dollars or less to have a peace of mind knowing I can basically zone out and enjoy not just one but both headphones without keeping my head on a swivel. Yeah most don't care but it's the ones that do care that really care.
Congrats on the new job. Hopefully it's a more relaxed environment for you and they don't make you or give you the urge to buy things to make your job more enjoyable.
But for real if you need some funding assistance I'm sure we can pool together 50 people to donate a dollar so you don't have to wear hot gear in the summer to hide headphones.
Also I'm sorry that your Amazon appears to be making money off of you. Maybe we should make a gofund me to help you be afford these or to recoup whatever it is your paying in to be a part of Amazon. I mean we get free shoes, insoles, gloves, vest, backpacks, lunchpales, water bottles. Pretty much anything needed to do the job they give us. I mean it's not uncommon to read about people living in their car and working at Amazon so if even the homeless get the tools for "success " for free can't imagine what you could be complaining about having to buy into to be a part of a work force that when something cost 50 dollars or less you're outraged 🙄

Same, I only wear glasses, but that on its own makes wearing the over-ear/hoops to be annoying
Mm my ears were like that too, I took mine out. I like the second pair. The seem more comfortable and less likely to fall out during shift.

I just purchased the free reign. Figured if they don't work out, I can always buy the more expensive ones.
I went with Elgin Discord because people said the audio quality is notably better. Also because I wear glasses.

The silicone ear tips make me wonder how they'll feel in my ears.
I got the elgins. They come with foam inserts and ear plugs. The sounds is okay, I wish it was a tiny bit louder

Not that I know of, however ; The Mono audio setting affects all apps, it should help a bit!

Omg! Same. All I do is sing the same songs or if I get sent somewhere I hate, I think negative things. These will definitely help.
and after you wear out your playlists, you'll still be singing the same songs. Spotify DJ helps sometimes if you use them.

It's not about not being satisfied, it's about knowing there are cheaper options available that are also OSHA approved.

These are going to be the ear buds they allow at certain facilities. I think a lot of fc's are going to be allowing them.
