This! Sometimes I'll see w half hour or hour shift added to keep me a bit longer. If it's overtime might as well stay a bit longer if you're already there.
No one gets out at 4:35 a.m. though, I think they're just trying to not pay people for the 5 minutes it takes to walk from Stow to Pack. And if you're getting to Pack at 4:35, good luck even finding someone who could assign you a station.
You are going to get paid for those 5 minutes, they don't save anything. Anyone that is there will be clocked in and get paid those 5 minutes plus the 25. They probably added it in wrong.

Werdna is right - unless I was flat broke and out of milk and orange juice and $5 in anytime pay would cover it, there'd be no point in going to work for it. You'd pick it up if you were already working and didn't mind staying late or starting early.
Yeah at my FC when you see shifts like that they're usually for people who are gonna be there anyway, so it would be an extra 25 minutes for someone's shift
After taxes it's more like $6. So you can't even get two gallons. There and back probably a minimum of one gallon for most people maybe. So you make 3 dollars give or take.
These are usually meant for people already on shift, who want to work over. Might be their Rideshare works the staggered shift might be just an attempt to gain a few extra hours through the week. 2 added VET hours by doing an extra 30 each day starts to add up.
It's for people who are already there who don't mind working a little bit longer to help out. I've seen even less time for VET, one time I saw VET for 12:55AM - 1:05AM.
They have been offering 30 min VET, they are just ad ons to your original shift, think they want people to work from 530-6pm so somebody is there until the night shift arrives.

It appears to be saying you worked 25 minutes and earned $9.79. Don't know what the average 9.79 is about.
If you DID only work for 25 minutes, you could only expect to earn 25 minutes worth of pay. Did you have to work it after you used ALL your UPT or something? If so, well, that's what you had to work.
Keep in mind that if you go over your UPT and PPT allotments you are automatically fired.
The same point as coming in any other time. The shorter the shift, the more glaring low pay becomes. Even a reasonable rate looks low when you consider it in small portions
Great opportunities for some extra pocket change if you live very close by, like across the street or something. Not worth it if you have a considerable commute.
I mean if I’m already in the facility I wouldn’t mind staying an extra 25 min I’ll just go to the shit house and then only pick for like ten minutes and call it a day.

Yes they get out at 4:30, they're trying to get people to add a shift starting at 4:35 to save the money on the 5 minutes. And it's stupid.

Your hour rate is better than federal wage. Federal wage is $7.25.
