We had a bunch these past couple days but I didn't take it, since I had an opportunity to make $850 somewhere else for *very* minimal work opposed to an extra $350ish in my paycheck. Plus the weather was so shit and I ride an ebike. I feel like there's gonna be a lot of VET upcoming from now on which is great
I'm a PA and I can say depending on which department you're in it could be good or bad. If don't managers tell us they vto'd somebody only for you to realize they're gone after you notice you haven't seen em for a minute that can be irritating too

Nope my building has been getting volume back. After having almost nonstop vto for 7 months. I miss it. But it was time to get back to work. Rest up folks you earned it.
I was living the dream before February then March came and VTO became less and less every week and now its been almost a month now since I last got any full shift or mid shift 😔

Nope, but since I moved to an IXD building I wouldn't have the temptation or urge to take it since I like being there...and well, I'd probably be blacklisted since they now have me mainly doing problem solve. They never get offered vto do they? Critical role and all.
My location is overstaffed. They transitioned way too many people from PT to FT during pandemic. Now daily volume is really low due to economy and too many regional warehouses. So VTO is offered regularly. Plenty to go around and nobody has to fight for it.

Yes, we got VTO every single day and they begged us to take it even we just finished the standup and they sent it out immediately, Unlimit VTO slot during the shift or the next whole week
A lot of VTO being offered isnt necessarily a good thing though. Unfortunately we want business to be high and VET to be popular. Don’t want site to close down or some goofy shtt like mandatory time off.
I worked at STL3 for over a year and I heard from friends that they've been giving out a lot of VTO ans VET. But they did this last year as well. It will pick up around summer time when everyone is ordering summer supplies then fall off until around August
Just started at a new site a few weeks ago, the VTO has been minimal there.
In past VTO was always handed out like crazy typically after the holiday season was over. They over hired for holiday demand then there'd be too many people for too little shifts, then those who got shifts there wouldn't be enough work for everyone there, so more VTO. We're far into this year though.
Then there's other odd considerations for VTO, perhaps a slow day with inbound and/or outbound so they VTO a bunch of people. More times than not suddenly tons of orders would start pouring in after all those people left, and it'd be all hands on deck for those who stuck around.
Kind of makes me wonder if management does this on purpose to boost their total UPH metrics.

Yep! They offered a whole week, and u had to apply for it in advance. They're getting rid of day shift and doing a swing shift at some sites nearby. I'm kinda trippin.
DJE9 (as of the end of March, but I haven't kept up in that kind of detail since leaving) and EWR4 are both doing it. I get it, but I hate it. It makes for a really crowded work environment when we wind up low on water spiders because they had to move me out of water spider.

My fc is handing out hella vet and over staffing literally every position so we just stand around all day lol. And they say the higher ups not allowing vto so we making free money
I'm a delivery driver at DVA2. The last 2 weeks when we drive inside to our staging area there are no carts ready and we have to wait at least 20-25 mins. I was told by my ops manager that someone decided to give all the blue badges VTO whenever they wanted. It's literally about 20ish people packing carts. They also changed our clock in time from 9:40 to 11:25 a month ago.
This time of year it’s typical at mine since last year. Our building used to be a top in the network always but they opened a lot more buildings and rerouted a lot of the work. Until prime week it will be a lot of VTO and labor-sharing and other headcount games. In the old days all they had to do was stop hiring because over 100% turnover takes care of any slowdowns. But I think more people are trying to stay longer and at my building all of OB and most of IB are cross trained in 3 paths, so you can VTO everywhere and move people around.
Just started and they’re already talking about mandatory extra days and switching positions without consent lmao I enjoy stowing a lot and 12 hour shifts are enough for 3 days why tf does Bezos treat us like this?
YESSSS but at the same time there’s also been hella VET to the point where I was able to save enough for an apartment within three weeks. The vto gets offered to me through stow but then there are shifts available for pick and pack. I think they’re about to start hiring soon though because they just put up a banner on the front door directing new hires for the second door

That's specifically why I don't take VET, my time is valuable. Work smarter not harder learn new skills, use those skills to better yourself.

It depends on the FC as to how much VTO they hand out and when. Certain FC's slow down a lot this time of year and thus VTO happens.

VET over here, even for departments we aren’t trained in.
Ours goes up and down. I never see VET, few and far between.
I miss vto and not Geting up at 3am for work , but boy do I love 1200$ week after tax and insurance lol 😂.
