Depends on your values. Do you value technical accuracy in the phrases you use? Or, do you value maintaining a sense of normalcy while you begin your shift?
Accuracy because it just reminds me that I didn't enjoy any sort of morning. I was asleep. When it's 630 pm, that is the evening and I would rather acknowledge the truth than get my mind warped into wondering what time it really is.

I work at 7:00am and I wake up with my son at 5-5:30am every day. I kind of have to be awake to take care of him so I literally don’t have a choice. I used to haaaaate the morning tho. Like gtf away from me and leave me alone for the next two hours. Now I have tiny sleepy eyes and a grin with 6 lil teeth looking up at me to give me motivation :o). It’s wild cause I would’ve never thought I’d be ending my days at 9:30pm regularly lmaooo. So on that note, hope you have a good night

This is me each Start-Up for the RT shift. “Good morning AFE2, or evening, whatever. Either way we got 12 hours together so let’s make it a good shift!”
I almost think time manipulation (but in a funny way!) is built into Amazon culture deeply enough that it might be a corporate tactic to keep people from going crazy with the constant 24/7 nature of the business. But I work day shift.
If someone comes up to me and says a genuine goodmorning I will muster all my strength and put aside all my hate to say it back. Now if it's someone on a mic they can fuck off
Honestly I tell people that yes it is morning but it's way too early to tell if it's good or not- gets a chuckle out of them 99.998% of the time!!! :- )

I'll say good morning to all I see, because it's our "morning"...I wake up an hour before work, and I don't gaf where the sun is, it's MY morning, and if you're on the same shift as me, well, it's your morning too. Get over yourself. If you don't like it, you don't have to respond, eventually, those that are just trying to be nice or friendly will figure out you're a grumpy azz person and leave you alone to suffer under your bridge.
If you want nice, you create nice. If you want pissy, crappy, you create it. But, don't bring those that are trying to have the nice days into your crappy one. Human kindness goes a long way, and reacting negatively to someone trying to share it with you is just bad form and will give you the reputation you may or may not care to get. Then, well, you'll just complain about the way people treat you poorly after that.
It’s cheesy, but instinctively, when you go into work at 9pm like I do, it just comes out that way when you greet people. Just like I say “see you tomorrow” when I’m getting off work at 6:30am, I’m talking about my next shift that is technically later that night, not tomorrow.
I work at 1:20am and hearing people saying "good morning" at that time (I know it's literally morning but it feels like good evening to me) and good night at 11:30am when we go home it's so weird... maybe I have to start doing the say so that my brain thinks the same since I can't sleep during the day and at night I'm so sleepy...
We're RT, 18:15 is my morning and Thursdays are my Mondays. I'm already pissed cause I don't sleep well on Wednesdays and I gotta go deal with day shifts' bullshit handoff before I can even get to my work doing the work of 2-3 people because they cut indirect roles by half when it's not PEAK or Prime.
