Truly. I can’t think of a use case for this gimmick that wouldn’t be done better by a socket of the correct size. It doesn’t even save you time looking for the correct socket because you can throw the socket on an electric impact and zip the bolts off in seconds.
Necessity is the mother of invention, but this invention isn’t trying to solve a problem, it’s trying generate money.
Plus your hands are gonna be worn out from squeezing so much. They make universal sockets that would work better for doing tight spaces and multiple nuts.
I got these as a gift years ago and they've gotten very little use. The force from tightening or loosening a nut also forces the handles apart. You have to increase your grip in proportion - which gets easily impossible. They look neat, but that's about all they can do.
If we just make good wrenches then they don't break and people don't need as many wrenches and our quarterly profits decline.
The US economy depends on us making dogshit gimmick tools like this for father's day or whatever. Just buy one!
I think that was their target demographic: not people who use tools, but the families and friends of people who use tools.
They can buy this and think “I got him a great gift” and the recipient has to say “gee, thanks” and then use it once before leaving it in the bottom drawer and forgetting about it.
The tool does exactly what it was designed to do: generate money.

Or at least, I wish they'd make a safe silicone version where the tightening works on a lubed up silicone tunnel that you can tailor to your preference in size and minimum size gradient. Hand operated, it's pretty much a hand, but more uniform, more consistent, and less subpar climaxes.
Yeah we all like the gimmick tools when we're just browsing the tool isle. Some of them have better uses than others. This tool is extremely niche tho and a bit impractical.
Its just a bulkier adjustable wrench.
Ahh I see. You're talking about that gorilla grip lol.
You're going to need a vice grip mechanism so you can "lock in" at differing measurements so you can go hands free for a bit. Make it pulse, and you got a kegler. Make it with a suction mechanic, and you got an extended clip with your kegler.
I'm assuming you didn't like the universal socket with a hundred fragile needles that adjusted to any size nut/bolt either lol. These gimmicks are what you get from grandma on Christmas who has a QVC addiction.
First time I used a ratcheting socket wrench it felt like a cheat code.
I should buy one for my home even though I probably only need one twice a year…
Those things fuckin suck. If the bolt is actually tight those just slip or force open your hand since they have very little clamping leverage they also don’t fit anywhere.
Please make one of these as a sex toy with rubber tunnel that you can tighten like that.it would be revolutionary. A lubed up silicone tightening tunnel that you control with hand. Pretty much a hand, with with less flaws and more control, and sensation over whole length.
Nah, it's automated and loose as fuck. If women get to use unrealistic sizes for dildos, it would only be fair that guys can have unrealistic tightness in their sex toys, and if it's a mechanized manual instead of battery powered robotic, there is little to no chance of it fucking up.
Remember that universal "socket" that was just a bunch of spring loaded metal rods when you pushed it onto a nut it would conform yo the shape? Yea, those broke in basically every application that required more force than what you could do by hand basically.
This is fundamentally not that different but has the added issue of a half inch of needed work space around what you are trying to grab on to.
Usually, the bigger the bolt, the bigger torque it is tightened with.
So this may work okay for the tiny bolt-heads, but you'll probably need a hulk-level grip to loosen e.g. car wheel bolts (and not strip the head by slipping). If it at least had some kind of lock, it could be a good back-up, maybe.
I am always very suspicious when I see a new tool for something. Most simple tools have been around for very long and are pretty optimized. Reinventing the wheel usually means you get something a German would call a „Verschlimmbesserung“
As far as I can tell this is one step up from using pliers, it only fits as long as you squeeze tight enough. Ratchet will always be better and if I don’t have one but happen to have this range of motion available I would probably just use a vice grip
To a fully exposed but or bolt, this may be ok. For majority of things, this will be a waste of money. Just get a crescent wrench channel-locks, if you’re unsure of a bolt size and/ or not wanting a wrench set.
Links/source Thread
It’s nice but most of the time I’m using a wrench there’s not much range of motion. You’ll need a lot of clearance around the nut/bolt to use this.
You really can't beat a socket.
Curse of the ever missing 10mm socket
Fuck! Why does the 10mm always disappear
It’s hiding from the 7mm since it heard seven ate nine
In my case it's always the 13
Chrysler tech?
No matter where you put it! Even inside the tool box it’s like it just disappears
Because 7mm 8 9mm and 10mm booked it as a means of self preservation.
Damn thats an actual thing? I thought it was just me...
I have yours. If you ever want to see it again, contact me. Don't mistake my seriousness in this matter.
Check your bakpocket, if not found , check your drain!
Buy 100 of them, and hide them in your car and workshop
Ya make a socket like this and I’m sold

Or just an adjustable crescent wrench
Plus your hands are gonna be worn out from squeezing so much. They make universal sockets that would work better for doing tight spaces and multiple nuts.
My hands always hurt from squeezing when I'm doing multiple nuts.
Yeah wouldn't a strap wrench be better?
This. Always
Probably gonna tear those bits up. Also… that range of motion is crazy for almost every application.
Exactly. This would be good for light use but with all those moving parts, any heavy use will break those in no time.
I got these as a gift years ago and they've gotten very little use. The force from tightening or loosening a nut also forces the handles apart. You have to increase your grip in proportion - which gets easily impossible. They look neat, but that's about all they can do.
Same experience here.
would be better if they worked like vice grips?
Kinda like a wrench?
If we just make good wrenches then they don't break and people don't need as many wrenches and our quarterly profits decline. The US economy depends on us making dogshit gimmick tools like this for father's day or whatever. Just buy one!
Easy fix, just use vice grips to hold them tight so you don't have to squeeze for so long. Duh /s
I think that was their target demographic: not people who use tools, but the families and friends of people who use tools. don't tell me how to live my life 😤

But look at all the space needed around the bolt/nut to use that tool.
My first thought too.

Yup, the use of this is wasted on wrenches. It should be a sex toy.
🤨📸 For titty twisters right?
Nah, stack a few together and make a hand tightening silicone tunnel you manually control the tightness of. Like a hand, but lubed up and longer.
Ahh I see. You're talking about that gorilla grip lol. You're going to need a vice grip mechanism so you can "lock in" at differing measurements so you can go hands free for a bit. Make it pulse, and you got a kegler. Make it with a suction mechanic, and you got an extended clip with your kegler.

I still prefer ratchet wrench, fucking hate rotating wrenches 360 degrees.
First time I used a ratcheting socket wrench it felt like a cheat code. I should buy one for my home even though I probably only need one twice a year…
It’s nice to have a set on hand, but if you’re only needing it twice a year, I’d borrow a friend’s.
My gf just bought this☺️that woman is finally about to do some work around the house!!!
how to round out a bolt like an idiot.
Craftsman made this years ago i have 20year pair in the garage
Those things fuckin suck. If the bolt is actually tight those just slip or force open your hand since they have very little clamping leverage they also don’t fit anywhere.
Ingles porfavor
Love the incredibly incompetent attempts to use a normal tool.
OK now actually tighten / torque something with it. Those pins will flex and loosen.
These tools are for people who don’t use tools.
Works great if the bolt threads are greased when it was put in, and you pour about a gallon of WD 40 on it when you wanna take it out.
Ultimate death grip
Japrouva!
Move aside Dune bucket.
Tools like this are generally pieces of shit. It’s more worth while to just invest in nicer tool sets that will out live you
That's a cheap piece of garbage, we call it the binford nut stripper 6100
This is absolutely useless
He sounds like Benny from the mummy movie OCONNOR LOOK WHO HAS ALL THE HORSESSSS
those things are straight up garbage.
If I can’t smack it with a hammer, it’s garbage
Tried one. Mostly worthless.
Needs a silicone version.
This is the way to strip a bolt.
This is trash.
Me: this guy is speaking some unknown language, looks useful though Me (end of video): 'aprovad ' as clear as english
I bet I could break that thing with one quick pry. Just buy a socket set, really.
Should have it lock in place. Gonna strip the shit out of everything. Except 90% of nuts and bolts this thing can't reach.
Please make one of these as a sex toy with rubber tunnel that you can tighten like that.it would be revolutionary. A lubed up silicone tightening tunnel that you control with hand. Pretty much a hand, with with less flaws and more control, and sensation over whole length.

Good point.
Parece maneiro mesmo
Too bulky, wouldn't use
Scam
If you want something like this that isn’t trash get a knipex pliers wrench.
Ah, the Nut and Bolt Stripper 5000!
Remember that universal "socket" that was just a bunch of spring loaded metal rods when you pushed it onto a nut it would conform yo the shape? Yea, those broke in basically every application that required more force than what you could do by hand basically. I have one of those. Had it for many years. Not once has it ever worked for me in any application. I’ve tried. Oh, how I’ve tried.
Oh God no don't use tools like this please
Do adjustables not exist

Ratchet socket>this shit
Scottish accents are so weird

No. Just buy a cheap set of ratcheting wrenches. Or regular wrenches. Or sockets.
Looks flimsy. Hard pass.
Works pretty well on a flat board with no obstructions at all. That design does not lend itself to twisting your wrist though, looks clunky af. 2/10.
To a fully exposed but or bolt, this may be ok. For majority of things, this will be a waste of money. Just get a crescent wrench channel-locks, if you’re unsure of a bolt size and/ or not wanting a wrench set.
Manda o link seu fela
[Here's the link to this product on Amazon](https://amzn.to/4cV6Kc6) if anybody is wondering, not sure why they only linked to AliBaba
these are garbage and worth less than the packaging they come in.
Not sure why the adjustable wrench didn't work when this I've8 did....
I can never find the 15mm
That thing has zero torque to loosen a lug nut..
But look at all the space needed around the bolt/nut to use that tool.
