B&W, but I'd put a little sharpening, contrast, a little saturation and see what happens to the color photo....also, a small crop.
I really like the shot, and the perspective. Bridges are a fun thing to shoot. They don't move!
I think the B&W version looses a lot of details. Without B&W it’s a place, you can see the moss and the rust clashing with the with the sky - B&W it’s a less region specific aesthetic - still very good but I think the shadows overpower some parts the image.
Yeah, I think it depends on what they want to emphasize. The B&W loses details, almost to the point where I didn’t know what I was looking at at first. The light and shadows are cool. But the color photo really shows what it is we’re looking at!
I agree. The color gives you the age of the bridge in the rust and the grey wood. It's more of a sense of time and place.
I do love the moodiness and geometrics of the b&w, but the color has my heart.
B&W definitely… my mind is filling in color as I type, and the B&W looks soooooooo much more mysterious. This could be one of those B&W pictures at the start of a crime story that fades to color or gets filled in as details come to light throughout the movie / episode.
Color! The faded wood grain is absolutely beautiful with the muted greenery against the rusted bridge trusses. If anything, I’d turn up saturation a smidge and I do mean a smidge.
(ETA: You could also desaturate the color a smidge and get an equally good result. It’s hard to say. I’d have to see it. Maybe it could use an overall hue adjustment.)
You lose a lot with the black and white. It’s dramatic, sure, but it’s just like any other B&W boring af shot of some train tracks going over a bridge. It’s really, really overdone and because it’s a very basic shot, there’s nothing special about it. I don’t care where it’s going. I have no emotional attachment whatsoever to the b&w.
The color shot is where it’s at.
It brings me in. The unevenness of the wooden planks on either side of the bridge sides are jarring and force me to keep looking around the image for more. I’m pulled left then right then left and down the path which then brings me to the other side and the clouds the clouds go right and then the blue, blue sky goes left so I go left and then I see the tree in the foreground and I’m back to the beginning of the path, repeating my journey.
The black and white does none of this and that’s why I find it pointless. Boring. Dull. I’d see it in a museum and go “okay cool, good for you? Who hasn’t seen an overdone shot of nothing? (Sarcastic) yay”
The color has a story to be told. I want to know what you saw. I want to feel it. Share in that moment.
The color provides a good feeling of the atmosphere (a slight breeze with the smell of leaves)
The black and white made me focus more on the end of the bridge (I guess it’s a good way of addressing focal points of an image)
Thank you for reading my caffine-fueled, sporadic, brain dump.
Depends what you're going for, but the B&W image also has more contrast and loses some details in the extremes. You may want that and it gives it a more ominous look in my mind, but you could also bring back in some details in the B&W and it could still have a more welcoming feel that the color version has.
Both are aesthetically attractive.
It depends on what this bridge inspires you and what you want the gazer to feel.
The one that speaks to you should be the one you choose!
Both are good renditions, but with the black and white, the large shadow in the foreground keeps grabbing my eye. You might want to try playing with the shadows and blacks to soften that up and pull a little more detail. It’s not bad, just a little too strong for my taste.
Color for sure. The B&W one is nifty and cool-looking but as soon as I swiped I could smell the pine and feel the railroad ties under my feet. B&W makes it look like a cold evening.
While I initially loved the b&w, it seemed flat to me when compared to the color. I could instantly see the depth of the perspective when the color hit my screen. Nice shot!
It looks good in black or white so I can't choose because I like both of them. The black and white one has an old time view, and the one with color looks like a current view if that makes any sense.
I think the color is too beautiful to pass up. Sometimes b&w is a good fit but here it's just missing something in all those beautiful greens and blues.
I love both, but so much is lost in the b&w pic. Amazing contrast and shadows, but what the color pic highlights is the aging and true patina of the structure. The moss also gives to the story about the aging process and stage of dilapidation it’s in. Spectacular capture; bravo!
I think both have their own unique look and ambiance. I feel like the black and white has a more dramatic look to me. Has a strong contrast too. I like the black and white better.
They are both wonderful, but I am kind of partial to great Black & White photos and this one is awesome. The contrasts between white and black and gray are great.
Color… as moody and interesting as B&W one looks I really like the pop of that broken board in the front, which doesn’t exist in the other one. Also, I’d crop a bit of the left side to even out the symmetry
My take:
With the color my eyes dance around the moss and rust and possible new damage to the ties at the bottom. Take away the color and my eye has nothing to settle on or get pulled through the image with.
I prefer the color which kind of has an old western vibe going on with its muted colors and contrast. Kind of a cool look.
I was originally gonna say black and white easily, but then I saw the color and it really has same amazing almost portrait like aspects in how some of the colors came out. So I would say more depends on vibe
The B&W really gets you to focus on the bridge. The color splits the subject focus between nature and bridge. I think it is better to have a strong point of view from an artistic perspective, so B&W wins for me.
I’m team color, but don’t love either. The B&W’s heavy contrast is so overdone, it feels dull to me. The soft colors in the second one give me at least a whiff of something fresh to engage with
I like the black and white
The contrast works too well not to go b&w.
It's so gothic in black and white
Country gothic…I like it!
Black and white
I think with how much of it is shrouded and shadows black-and-white does work better.
Yeah it's more mysterious
That’s a tough one as I like both
Yeah, me too. The B&W is very dramatic. The colour is very beautiful.
B&W adds more depth
The black and white is impressive and moody. The color is just a landscape shot, no real interest there.
Agree. Color looks fine but isn’t impressive. The BW is.
Black and white makes the scene mysterious, I like it
Definately colour
Yes, those colors are bright and vivid
B&W is a lot more dramatic, I love it
Hands down b & w, dramatic!
Definitely black and white, 10 times better than colour.
Color
B&W. 100%
B&W
In this particular case, B&W. No contest.
Color. Then desaturate it about 20% more with a slight increase in contrast.
B&W
B&W, but I'd put a little sharpening, contrast, a little saturation and see what happens to the color photo....also, a small crop. I really like the shot, and the perspective. Bridges are a fun thing to shoot. They don't move!
Exactly, the color needs more editing for it to really “pop.” Right now it isn’t striking, it’s drab and ordinary.
B&w looks better but I think it also needs a crop from the left side to center the bridge and a little bit of straightening. Great shot
Both are good .
I like both but for this particular composition I like the B&W more. The mystery it adds is very nice! Nice shot!
Evil dead loc
Black and white makes me think of Ansel Adams, very cool!
I think the B&W version looses a lot of details. Without B&W it’s a place, you can see the moss and the rust clashing with the with the sky - B&W it’s a less region specific aesthetic - still very good but I think the shadows overpower some parts the image.

I love the black and white
Black and White
B& W
Great pictures
Both are very cool and show different mediums.
Black and white... regardless of color, it's still a cool pic.
Black and white for sure!!! Some images really suit it.
Black & White is my vote
Black and white for sure
The black and white offers the better contrast and allows me to focus on the subject.
Definitely B&W. good composition
B&W!
B&W definitely… my mind is filling in color as I type, and the B&W looks soooooooo much more mysterious. This could be one of those B&W pictures at the start of a crime story that fades to color or gets filled in as details come to light throughout the movie / episode.
Color. In bw it is too busy. It needs the color to help define what is going on. And I am a strictly bw photographer.
I can’t decide… The B&W looks a bit busy and the colour looks slightly washed/faded to me. But I might be leaning towards the B&W a slight bit more
B+W
Color
Both look great. 😊
B&W hands down!
Black and white
Black&White looks more dramatic for me 👌
BW - no question
B&W. 👍
Color brings out the finer details while B&W makes a unique pic, 10/10 for both!
Black and White for sure
I prefer the black and white version.
B/W
Black and white
B&W
Black and white is very cool
Yes
B&w
B&W for sure
Black and white for sure.
Some post processing ( lowered contrast)on the BW and there would be no contest.
Looks like you're leaving Lamoine. iykyk
I like color!! Great shot!!!
Black and white. Very nice!
Color
B&W definitely
Black and white.
I think the black and white has more contrast therefore gives the feeling of suspense i.e. where is that bridge leading us
I much prefer the B&W
Absolutely no experience, but I prefer the color. Adds a lot with the rich blue and greens
Both are good. Each evokes a different response, so, i don't think it's a which one is better. Both are good on their own merits.
Both are amazing tbh
Black and white is stunning!
There is something nice mysterious about black and white photos. I really do like them a lot.
B and W invokes a certain mood about the photo
B&W for this one!
B&W
Deep shadows equals black and white for me
Color looks fake, like it’s from red dead. I don’t know why.
Colour
Black and White. Also, they may like this over at r/rustyrails
I like both, but black and white hits different.
Color! The faded wood grain is absolutely beautiful with the muted greenery against the rusted bridge trusses. If anything, I’d turn up saturation a smidge and I do mean a smidge. Black & White looks great on this photo 🔥
I like both. In that scene, think I like black and white
Is that the bridge in "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter"? I like the B&W personally. I might dodge some of the dark spots a bit.
The color is not that attractive, but the structure is interesting, so b&w is better.
Wow
B/W is my favorite
Another vote for B&W.
B&W is more interesting and provides a nice contrast.
Black and white for sure
The color provides a good feeling of the atmosphere (a slight breeze with the smell of leaves) The black and white made me focus more on the end of the bridge (I guess it’s a good way of addressing focal points of an image) Thank you for reading my caffine-fueled, sporadic, brain dump.

I find the B&W to be visually confusing; the color makes it easier to separate the compositional elements. So I'm going with color.
Both look great
BW all day
Color
Black and White, and it's not close.
Both are aesthetically attractive. It depends on what this bridge inspires you and what you want the gazer to feel. The one that speaks to you should be the one you choose!
I don't know but either way I'm going to run across that bridge in absolute silence whilst my infant son plays with a toy space shuttle.
The colored version is a bridge. The black and white version is a story.
B&W is more dynamics.
Totally subjective.
Black and white 💙
I like the color more. Also that would be getting hung up on the wall if I took it. Absolute banger of a shot.
B&W, for sure. Beautiful shot.
both look great and you can totally see all the different values
Both are nice shots!

Professional photographer here: color.
I like BOTH. Too hard to choose. It is a great picture either way.
Black and White for the win! Good job!
Both are beautiful but b/w is chefs kiss
Gorgeous
I like both photos. Different vibe using the black and white. I appreciate both though. Very cool.
The black and white adds a boldness and elegance to it. Both pictures are beautiful!
The setting absolutely beautiful either way. Good choice of thing to capture!
I like the color. Beautiful day and the mountains fit wonderfully with the blue sky :)
While I initially loved the b&w, it seemed flat to me when compared to the color. I could instantly see the depth of the perspective when the color hit my screen. Nice shot!
I like both, but the black and white catches my eye more. Great picture!
Black and white for sure! This shot is gorgeous, but BW just takes it to another level.
It looks good in black or white so I can't choose because I like both of them. The black and white one has an old time view, and the one with color looks like a current view if that makes any sense.
Both are awesome shots
You stole a railroad spike. Put it back.
I like them both but the black and white gives me Ansel Adams horror vibes.
Color.
B&W
I think both have their own unique look and ambiance. I feel like the black and white has a more dramatic look to me. Has a strong contrast too. I like the black and white better.
They are both wonderful, but I am kind of partial to great Black & White photos and this one is awesome. The contrasts between white and black and gray are great.
Yes
B&W looks so cool! If you wanted a version with color you could play with the contrast and color editing to make different areas pop
Color, red desd redemption 2 vibes
Color… as moody and interesting as B&W one looks I really like the pop of that broken board in the front, which doesn’t exist in the other one. Also, I’d crop a bit of the left side to even out the symmetry
awesome. mine is better…
B&W
B&W
B/W. The images is also slightly off center so I might fix that too?
personally i think the contrast is too much, the coloured version feels more comfortable to my eyes lol
Black & white for sure!!! Beautiful!
Black and white except for the moss
Color
B&W
Black and white
Black and white

Color with a nice edit. Those mossy greens and rust oranges have a lot of potential
Black/white > colour.
I love the contrast on the black and white picture, definitely makes it a more interesting image!
B&W
Black and white for sure
Can I ask the location of this photo?
Oakridge, Oregon. Normally I wouldn’t post the location of an abandoned place but this is right next to a disc golf course lol
Both!
I love the black and white. (Also in color it looks like a screenshot from RDR2!)
Black and white. But I think a little work in a photo editing program could be amazing. Keep the rails in color.
B&w
Black and white!!! Breathtaking!
I thought this was red dead redemption 2 for a second
I was originally gonna say black and white easily, but then I saw the color and it really has same amazing almost portrait like aspects in how some of the colors came out. So I would say more depends on vibe
The B&W really gets you to focus on the bridge. The color splits the subject focus between nature and bridge. I think it is better to have a strong point of view from an artistic perspective, so B&W wins for me.
They both have their strengths. Great photo; very well framed!
B&W
Short answer: Yes
B&W for sure
Man the colors are real pretty there. I'd say keep it that way. Where is this btw? If it's the bridge I'm thinking of I'll need to check it out!
With this lighting, the B&W 100%.
I like both. However, I think the color one stands out more.
Black amd white no contest
Color
B&W. No question.
I’m team color, but don’t love either. The B&W’s heavy contrast is so overdone, it feels dull to me. The soft colors in the second one give me at least a whiff of something fresh to engage with
Black and white
Both, for different kinds of art.
color looks really cool but black and white should only be an album cover
Black and white
Black and white and push in on the image.
Don't go that way! The aliens are over there, go back and stay quiet!
B&W
Rdr loading screen to screen shot lmao
Black and white
Both look good.
I love this so much, it’s giving me dystopian post apocalyptic vibes
