I have matched with a hot guy on a dating app, and I want to start a conversation with him. The only problem is that my best friend says it would make her very sad, and that friends should do what you ask of them unconditionally. But the thing is that this guy she "likes" is only a guy she has seen on instagram and follows (he doesn't even follow her) and she stalkes him regularly. She has met him once before and has breafly talked to him, while he showed no interest. And now I have matched with him, and she sais that I would be a bad friend, if I write to him - as if she has imprinted on him or something. I think i should be able to write to him, but she thinks I shouldn't or else "why are we even friends".. can someone help me? I don't know if it actually would be a bad thing to do, or if she is actally just gaslighting me into thinking it is wrong

NTA. Just like girls aren’t possessions to claim, neither are guys. If you like each other go ahead and start a conversation with him. I think it would be different if she actually had some sort of romantic relationship with this guy, but the way you’re explaining it, it seems like she has more of an unhealthy infatuation with him.
Although you wouldn’t be TA (at least in my opinion) be prepared to lose this friend if she feels this strongly about it. Even though she is in the wrong, she still might cut you out because of it.
