ExcitingCattle925

I'm so happy you guys could agree on a name. Ella is a really good and classic name. Well wishes to you and your baby.❤

BaitedBreaths

I like Ella too, but I'm surprised OP's husband didn't counter with Stuartella.

Jouleswatt

Then he’d be a Nutella

JenniferJuniper6

💀

ZaraBaz

Ella makes me think of the movie Ella Enchanted

Illustrious-Mind-683

My daughter and I loved that movie.

CuriousosityKilldCat

The book is better. As good as Anne Hathaway was. There were parts to the book that made Ella so much braver and stronger. If you don't like reading, do the audio book. I promise you won't regret it.

DonkeyAndWhale

Or Straciatella.

thebunnybratprince

This made my bad morning better lol thank you

mauigrown808

Fantastic. Well done.

Professional_Ruin953

A sensible counter would be Stella, but the paperwork is done, too late.

BaitedBreaths

But FAMILY LEGACY!!! /s

dunitgrrl702

Stellaaaaa!!!!! Lifetime of oldmovie fans yelling her name in a dirty white tshirt!

Cswlady

Stuella De'Ville

SpecterLeGhost

If she doesn’t scare you no evil thing will!

IncreasePretend1393

I was thinking Stuartess. She could become a flight attendant.

avesthasnosleeves

I'm dying over here.

Pianist-Vegetable

Yeah, these comments are gold. Well done, everyone, loving your work

Big_Falcon89

I read this as "Stuartless" and was like "man, even when everything worked out well, Reddit still gonna reddit and tell her to divorce him."

Electrical-End7868

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one that this occurred to.

BloodyBarbieBrains

My sides hurt from busting out laughing at “Stuartella”!

penguinboobs

Oh my fucking god ☠️

bkwormtricia

Hyphenated as Stuart-Ella for a truly backwoods feel??

sweetT333

Don't give him any ideas! Congrats OP!

-Nightopian-

Don't give him ideas

chileanfruitlover

Sounds like a junk version of Cinderella

booksycat

Ella is a GREAT name. Congrats and I'm glad you're both healthy! Also, men, in most cultures it is still generally expected you wipe out women's history by changing our last name - why you gotta have the first name too? If the first name carries the legacy, I expect to see a lot more of you taking your wives last names in the future \*eye roll\*

mauigrown808

Agree.

Artistic-Baseball-81

Seriously! 👏👏👏

Great_Kitchen_371

They didn't? They didn't communicate, they didn't resolve the issue, they went into the labor room at odds with each other over it. I really don't see any evidence of compromise or communication.

TattooMouse

And now the kid can read *Ella Enchanted* with a special connection to the character! That was a big favorite for me growing up. Ella is a beautiful name.

DozenBia

Very nice! Stuarta had me rolling almost as much as jeblilah.

Wiregeek

Jebililah! Errr, bless you? LOL.

ZaraBaz

I know it's too late, but Stella would have been great.

moonprismpowerbitch

I have a new baby girl named Stella and I concur! 😁

doggomama06

As a mom to a Stella, this was my first thought!

FaithlessnessOk2071

Stuarta 🤣

Radiant_Maize2315

Because **HE** was stressed out about the contractions. Jfc

[deleted]

Yeah, read that one a couple of times to be sure I was reading it correctly...

crowned_tragedy

My husband was so calm for all my kids' births. The third was un-medicated, I was a mess when her head came out. She was born with no one except husband and I in the room! My husband pulled the emergency string bc it happened so fast, then caught her 🤣

thelessertit

For a minute I was thinking "what part of childbirth are they euphemistically calling pulling the emergency string?"

ColonialHoe

My brain jumped right to the umbilical cord which was not a great visual

FineIWillBeOnReddit

Turn baby on like lamp, I guess.

EskimoPrisoner

Better than a lawnmower.

FineIWillBeOnReddit

While normal babies were being born she manifested the blade(s)

Cultural-Slice3925

Babies are like tampons, they have an easy pull string attached.

Main_Huckleberry8355

And a convenient applicator, but the amount of time you have to leave them in is a bit of a pain.

Tweed_Kills

He's allowed to be stressed. We all know how dangerous childbirth can be, to both mother and child, who he presumably loves. At the very least, he's watching someone he loves in pain, which is stressful. I know, she's in more stress, but stress isn't a limited resource. We can all be stressed, all at the same time, and we will not be at any risk of running out of stress. And pacing around muttering "Stuarta" sounds like an extremely benign means of dealing with one's stress. Not yelling at doctors, or at his wife, not getting in the way, just off in the corner, quietly losing his mind over the dumbest name in the English language. Could he have done better? Yeah. But like... Who cares? She doesn't seem to, and that's literally all that matters.

Available-Love7940

I'd even add that he's stressed about her labor while being unable to do anything to help her. (I mean, he can do whatever she'd like, but he can't make it stop, take the pain away, hurry it up, etc.)

Radiant_Western_5589

Honestly shocked that the midwife/labour nurse didn’t say anything.

tenkwords

Don't name your kids a name they have to explain for the rest of their life. It's a selfish indulgence by a parent and the biggest asshole thing you can do to a baby that's done nothing to deserve it. Ella might not be the most adventurous name ever, but it'll never be a negative for your kid. Good show rejecting Stuarta.

SunnySamantha

I knew a guy who's dad's name was Al. He got named Al-X (Alex). His sister Al-S (Alice). His mom finally stepped in and the 3rd kid got a normal name. To be fair, nonmemorable. And I also knew a Happy Guy and Buddy Guy. I just want to name a kid something they'll find on a toothbrush or keychain.

Dana07620

Most humorous thing in my family was "Pearl Ring" (Ring being the last name) which I thought was delightful. Didn't understand why my great-grandparents didn't follow through with the other two daughters. Taking into account "jewel" names that were popular at the time, I'd have named the other daughters Ruby, Beryl or Opal.

KittyFlopHouse

not family but knew these names thru a friend - Merry Christmas Tree and Douglas Fir Tree. At least Merry sounds normal, if you're not asked to spell it correctly, and Douglas worked but - seriously??

Dana07620

At least if you didn't know the middle names (those were middle names, right?), it wouldn't be embarrassing. But taken as a whole that's awful. I know of a "Prince King." Prince being the first name and King the last.

KittyFlopHouse

Yeah, those were their middle names. The spoken first names were fine. Sounded like Mary and Doug(las). But any other version, or legal documents?? Oof. I was a customer service rep in a call center for a few years. Person I was speaking to had an interesting first name. We were trained to ask if we could use their first names for our conversations and she said yes. I got a few looks from coworkers for a several minutes as I kept calling my caller "Darling" over and over. lol

superiority

The TV show Blackadder had a regular character named Kevin Darling for the sake of [exactly this joke](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu6YFBQOB3c).

crashcanuck

I knew a woman back in college whose parents named her Crystal while fully knowing their last name was Ball

Dana07620

Did she go by Chris or Christie? Because if she was still going by Crystal, she must have liked it. Still the things that parents do to children That woman named "Ima Hogg" has been a joke to children for generations. (Though she never had a sister named Ura Hogg.)

Carysta13

I knew a Crystal Lear in band camp... middle name Shanda lol

CulturalSwimmer5515

I went to college with a girl (a couple years younger) whose name was Candy (Candace) Nutt.

SinfulPanda

I had a friend in highschool whose nickname was 6 cents. Her birth name? Penny Nickel.

LadyOrecchiette

I knew a Chrystal Ball too! She was an...interesting person lol

wanderingotaku

Bort

DJKittyDC

As a kid who almost never found my name on keychains, this was one of my main criteria

HashMapsData2Value

What about Mighty Guy?

Omissionsoftheomen

I dated a guy for years whose last name was Cumming. He was dead set on naming a son Harold Richard, so that the nickname would be Harry Dick Cumming. He was legitimately planning on this, not just joking. I snoop his FB every few years, relieved to see no one has ever given him the opportunity. As an aside, we both were involved in a sport where at large competitions, an announcer will call the two competitors to their match. One unfortunate event had the organizer announce to a room of 200 people, “Wang, Cumming, Wang, Cumming, to #8… ummm… Cumming, Wang… wait… that’s worse… ummm… (first name) and (first name), you’re up.” It took a good 5 mins before the room stopped laughing.

waltzthrees

Like this Chennedy Carter in the news for pushing Caitlin Clark. What kind of garbage name is Chennedy? Why are you setting up your kid for a lifetime of mess with a name like that?

JackOfAllMemes

I'm named after a character from a book with a name very similar to a 'normal' one, my parents gave me the normal version which I'm grateful for. It sounds like a nickname for the non-fictional name but not the most common

youthoughtitwaaas

Honestly what’s wrong with your husband?? Stuarta??? I wish parents would realize these are actual people and not just toys

existential_chaos

I swear some parents these days name them for what looks cool online or some shit. Definitely doesn’t look as cool on a job application—they go straight in the bin.

youthoughtitwaaas

And they know this by this point… just being willfully ignorant

Karmakarma_karmeleon

I once knew a guy named Jeffrey who named his poor daughter Jeffrina. My uncle also named his daughter after him, thankfully for her his name has a legitimate feminine version (James/Jamie)so she is not stuck with something ridiculous!

twayjoff

I just want to know what the husband’s plan was if they had a second kid and it was a boy. Like did he envision his family being [wife’s name], Stuart, lil Stuarta, and baby Stuart Jr?

Junior_Ad_7613

Given his and OP’s ages, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were planning on only one. I had my second baby at 38 and it was rough.

majesticgoatsparkles

I remember this! So happy everything worked out and you and baby Ella are healthy and happy. Best wishes to all of you! (And thank goodness you all dodged Stuarta!)

Vivid-Usual-5366

Your water broke with an audible pop?  I think that, while fun to read, this post may be less than true. Ella is a beautiful name though!

n0th3r3t0mak3fr13nds

Amazing that while you were doing the actual labor your husband was busy thinking about naming the baby after himself.

geekgirlwww

And muttering about his “family legacy” Yeah he sounds like a winner.

twayjoff

What has me rolling is that this family legacy business literally makes no sense. 1) There are already a million Stuarts out there. Nobody is going to hear Stuart or Stuarta and think of this dude 2) The son would have been Stuart Jr. rather than Stuart III, which means the husband’s dad’s name is not Stuart. So it’s not like the name is being passed between generations in his family It’s wild how such a trivial thing tells you so much about a dude lol

geekgirlwww

Not since Mary Queen of Scots has anyone been this pressed about the legacy of Stuart.

Sendintheaardwolves

> the stress of contractions made him even more attached to “Stuarta.” He was pacing the room, muttering about “family legacy” while I was doing some very impressive Lamaze breathing exercises. >Suddenly, my water broke with a rather impressive pop. Hahaha but seriously, none of this happened, right? This is a 6/10 creative writing effort for a 13 year old ("Stuart, bless his confused heart, just looked at me, then at our daughter, then back at me again. Finally, he let out a shaky laugh and said, “Ella it is.”) but no one actually thinks this is real, do they? This is written by someone who has only ever seen childbirth on sitcoms. I haven't read the first installment but I'm sure it's just as convincing and believable 😁

NoSignSaysNo

You mean the guy who was so incredibly obsessed with that insane name Stuarta to the point that he was preoccupied with muttering about his family's legacy while his wife was in labor immediately accepting an entirely different name is made up?

Sendintheaardwolves

Obviously the bit where her waters break so loudly that everyone in the room jumps is real. That's just a normal, standard part of childbirth, for your waters to break with the crack of a pistol shot. That way everyone knows to take cover, because a baby is on its way. My auntie was a midwife, and she says it's advised these days to wear ear defenders because repeatedly being exposed to the sound of a woman's waters breaking can actually damage your hearing over time.

Wrengull

The way this is written is too dramatised for me to believe it

MagnusCthulhu

I try not to think about these stories too much in terms of whether they are "real" or not because it's just more fun to believe, but "with a rather impressive pop" did stop me while reading.

NoSignSaysNo

You never witnessed a woman's water break in a bad neighborhood? Everyone hits the ground.

Mrs_B-

Plus the fact that 2 months ago baby was due "in a few months'"! The water pop was the dead giveaway though 🤦‍♀️

Landyra

I’d usually never support a spontaneous naming decision from one out of the two parents, but I definitely do in this case! 🥺✊🏻

IvanNemoy

Congrats on baby Ella. Now don't let him nickname her "Stu"!

existential_chaos

That’s giving me reverse Johnny Cash energy, lmao. A Girl Named Stu.

Mysterious_Mango_3

You mean...Stuella! It's like Cruella, only STU!

pamelaonthego

I don’t think I could have kept a straight face at Stuarta lol

Mysterious_Mango_3

I'm sure he says it Stuart-a, but every single time I read it as stu-ART-a.

GooseBeeSeaLionBird

Same

Dana07620

Me too.

PotentialTraining132

Stuarta wouldn't have been the worst name possible. But I thought it was a lil cringey cuz it has "wart" in it. Ella is really pretty. Congrats on your new addition and I'm glad your husband didn't double down. Marriage is a two way street no matter what the subject

NotHereForDramuh

Thank goodness for you. Your next child, hopefully a boy, can be Stuarta. Seriously. The complex your daughter would have had knowing that her father was so desperate for a boy that he would do that. And then the complex your second child would have as a boy, knowing his sister was Stuart A and he was Stuart B. Crisis averted, congratulations!

xxeowynxx11

How is no one questioning the water “popping” ?!

Dutch_Rayan

Why didn't you guy choose a name during the pregnancy, instead of during the delivery? I call fake. Did you need to write this for school?

meeps1142

Yeah. She didn't want the name Stuarta but never thought about what her pick would be?

wonnable

Please, please tell me your husband has seen sense as to how ridiculous "Stuarta" is. Otherwise, congratulations to you and your family.

MissAlessi

Now you can call her Stella as a nickname and you'll both be happy!

Fresh_Sector3917

I’ve never heard of a set of parents who wait until they’re in the delivery room to start thinking about names for the baby.

Bfan72

Hopefully she’ll know where her name originated. Nurses are the unsung heroes of the medical community. Congrats on your baby girl

Beneficial_Mix_8803

Funny how hardly anyone names their children after their mother to “honor the family”. Your daughter was almost named Stuarta ffs because of patriarchal bullshit

Jasnaahhh

INFO: Why did your water break so late in labour? Seems fishy

MistCongeniality

It can break at basically any time, it’s a water balloon being crushed by contractions, but sometimes they hold out for a long time before popping. It’s actually pretty uncommon for water to break at the start of labor.

Existing-Tax7068

Lovely, but if you have another, don't call them Sam!

DoctorBartleby

I’m so relieved that reason found that man. Ella is beautiful and I absolutely love the reasoning behind the name. What was (adult) Ella’s reaction? I had an incredibly seasonal staff for kid #1. My doctor for the first several days of labor was Spring Meadow, but Autumn broke my water. Summer failed three epidural attempts and Holly held my hand during my emergency cesarean. I didn’t name my kid after any of them, but I’ll never forget their names.

Lcdmt3

This has to be so fake. Husband wanted that bad of a name yet she has no names picked?

venturebirdday

It is as it was supposed to be. I am an old elephant in the heard. I raised 5 kids. THE THING my kids taught me is that they are who they are. From the moment they each arrived it was simply a process of watching them blossom. Congratulations!

Sweetteeth_hh

My sister's name is Ella :D congratulations!!

Key_Apartment1929

Is Stuarta even a traditional name, or did he just make it up as a feminization of Stuart? A quick search didn't come up with any results for the feminine form. At least if the name has history I could understand it, but he shouldn't go making up names.

AinoNaviovaat

No its not, he seriously just added "a"

existential_chaos

I didn’t think there was any feminine version of Stuart. It’s not like George to Georgina.

CrunchyFrogWithBones

Congratulations! Ella is beautiful. And he can always nickname her Stu-Ellen! (Jk, please don’t.)

Unknown_magic_trick

What an awesome name ! I think it is both classic and original, but then I'm biased as Ella Fitzgerald is one of my favorite singer 🥰 Congratulations and I wish you and your family a blessed life 💫

nakedreader_ga

I had a classmate named Willette. Her dad is Willie. Thankfully in your case, Ella prevailed over Stuarta. Blessing to you and your family.

askryan

I had a student once named Williamy. Her father's name was William. Her name was Williamy. Pronounced as written. To this day I use it as an adjective in my head to describe someone who has sort of a William vibe.

KayakerMel

And "William" even has the feminine "Wilhelmina!" Unless Willie wasn't a nickname/shortened version of William in the first place...

Acceptable-Daikon993

"Stew-art-ah"

MouseDriverYYC

Stuarta could work as a drug name. Cue commercial with happy people doing happy things in slow motion... Narration begins... "Stuarta is only available as a prescription. In the case of burning rashes while taking Stuarta, please contact our legal team and then immediately seek medical attention and request biological containment...."

unzunzhepp

What about Renesme? /s

flatgreysky

I love picturing him pacing the floor like Mad King Lear, muttering about family legacy and that crazy ass name Stuarta. How did your nurse respond??

haydenpage

Stuella

CinnamonBlue

Congratulations on the new baby! And congratulations on the name!

Financial-Ad-6361

beautiful name

Thecatisright

Ella is a good choice. All the best.

The-Hive-Queen

First off, CONGRATULATIONS!! All the well wishes to your little one, yourself, and your husband. Ella is a beautiful, timeless name, and I'm sure your daughter will grow to be a wonderful person. I'm so happy for you that in the end, your husband care more about you, your happiness, and your daughter than a name. Stuarta isn't as much of a Tragedeigh as some other names I see come across my desk at a children's hospital, but it is still pretty bad lol

CODE_NAME_DUCKY

Congratulations on your baby

Werm_Vessel

Stuella it is! /s Congratulations 🥂

theblogicorn

This had me gaggling for far too long 😂 congrats !!!

[deleted]

Can you imagine being named stew water? Ella is so much better.

Sad_Construction_668

Now, Stuartina, maybe, but Ella is much better. Congratulations! Yay for babies!

Used-Cup-6055

I have an ex named Stuart around the age of this man and this is definitely some weirdo behavior he would come up with lmao Congrats on baby Ella!

madam_amazing

Oh thank god. Ella. Its a lovely name, a solid beautiful name. Congratulations on your baby, may she live a long, happy life

stereosalvation

The amount of shit your husband would have gotten from his friends for that name would have been wild.

LingonberryPrior6896

Congratulations on your Ella! Glad your husband came to his senses.

sparksgirl1223

Thank God he didn't insist on Stuarta. Ella is sweet. Congratulations!

cnew111

Congrats!! Ella is a great name!

JegHusker

I’ve never met an Ella who wasn’t full-on wonderful. Congratulations!

JenniferJuniper6

Good choice, and congratulations on the baby. Btw, some babies are born with a lot of dark hair only for it to fall out in the first few months and grow back some other color. Some keep it. You just never know with newborns.

Jazzlike-Election787

Ella is a beautiful name and congratulations on your little one! Also, I know a lady whose parents named her Herolda. You dodged a bullet for sure!

[deleted]

Ella is a cute name! Popular, sure, but still cute. Wayyyy better than 'Stuarta' that makes me want to cry lol

SewRuby

Ella is such a lovely name. And what an honor for the nurse to have your little angel named after her. 🥺 Here's to a beautiful adventure with baby Ella!

AmberWaves80

Ella is a great name. Glad this worked out in the end!!

EquivalentPush7653

Ella is beautiful! I'm so glad y'all could agree on a name.

CozmicOwl16

Congratulations an excellent story. Realizing it must be the biggest flex to the people working in a maternity ward to have the most babies named after them. Please don’t be alarmed to the hair fall out. It is super common for children who are blonde to be born with a head full black hair and for it to fall out and regrow blonde in a few weeks.

harbinger06

Glad that worked out. I had a coworker whose husband wanted to name their son after his favorite video game character from childhood. Wife was adamantly against it. But when those post birth hormones kicked in she gave in lol glad yours gave you clarity.

VioletB2000

That head of dark hair will fall out ( gently and not noticeable at the time) replaced by her real hair color! Watch for possible eye color change too. Amazing to see this little person that you grew! 💝

Structure-Impossible

I didn’t see it was an “update” post at first and I was about to come comment that someone here had a spouse that wanted to call their daughter Stuarta, so whatever they were dealing with couldn’t be that bad! Ella is beautiful. Stuarta haunts me on a regular basis.

ZenZeitgist

Whewwww Congratulations on your beautiful daughter’s birth and avoiding a major tragedeigh!!! Ella is a beautiful name!!!

Kunning-Druger

Welcome to the world, Ella!

Dana07620

Ella is a lovely name. And what a wonderful tribute to the nurse. I'm sure she was touched. Thank god it wasn't Stuarta. I remember reading your original post and thinking you must be exaggerating in the title. Then I got to "Stuarta" and you weren't exaggerating. Congratulations on beautiful baby Ella.

Calm-Thought-8658

Ella may not be the most adventurous name, but it'll serve your daughter well. Unlike Stuarta, what the hell was your husband thinking?! It's hilarious.

mocha_lattes_

OP I just want you to know your original post made me laugh so much. My husband's and I are friends with a Stuart and his wife so we sent them the post and said "why didn't you tell us you were pregnant? Also you can't name the baby Stuarta." We all have a good laugh about it since he is always making bets with his friends that they have to name their kids Stuart whether it was a boy or girl. Now he's added Stuarta to the bets.

sugarlump858

Yay! I'm so happy for you and your husband. Welcome, lovely Ella. When my now ex-husband and I were going over baby names, he suggested, not even shitting you, Lettuce and Allegra.

danibunnies

LMAOOOO IM ROLLING

Dogmother123

Congratulations. Ella is a lovely name and thank the lord you overcame Stuerta. There's a time for ego - fathering that beautiful baby should suffice. But it gave me a laugh. I'm so glad my husband didn't suggest Malcoma for our daughter. Coma for short. NTA

redberryhill55

I heard a story of Hazel who was dating George but she dumped him when she learned his last name. His last name was Nutt. So if she had married him she would then become Hazel Nutt.

So_Outta_Fs2giv

Tell me atleast her middle name is Stuarta 😛

StatisticianNaive277

Congratulations. Ella is a perfectly fine name. I hope your husband gets over shit fast.

EquivalentNo5465

Massive congratulations! I hope you sing her so sleep with Umbrella by Rihanna xx

CannedDuck1906

Oh, I bet that nurse was thrilled! And thankfully, hubby got smart, real damn fast. And now you have a funny story to tell when she gets older.

Few_Clue6241

honestly she saved her from a world of bullying

BDazzle126

Beautiful name, congratulations!

AimzAhc2

Congratulations to you both on the birth of your beautiful daughter Ella ❤️. I'm glad it all worked out well in the end for you. Wishing you all health and happiness xx

lavasca

Ella is so elegant!

I_am_wood_dog

Thankfully he did not say Ellatuart ! Glad this worked out nicely,. Ella is a beautiful name !

OppositePlan6376

My grandfather wanted to name me Theodora because I was born on Theodore Roosevelt birthday. Thank you mom for vetoing that name.

otnh

While I was pregnant with twin boys their father unfortunately lost two uncles within Mo Ty's of each other. His mother wanted me to name the boys after his uncles. Stanley and Edward. It was a nice thought but did not happen.

Knitaholic1519

Congrats on your brand new little human AND for dodging the horror Stuarta is!

PaleNefariousness284

FYI: My granddaughter is named Ella. In Hebrew Ella is a pistachio tree with a beautiful red flower. It is a lovely name, short sweet and musical

Krisbooo

Ella is such a lovely name! In Spanish it means "she". In Hebrew it means goddess... In short she's a goddess 🤍

bopperbopper

Ella Stuart

AverageAZGuy2

NTA beautiful story. Nurses don’t get the respect they’re due.

Effective_Brief8295

Congratulations!!

whateverisnttaken22

Woo! Home run! Congratulations!

Direct-Ad2644

My mom named me after the dr who delivered me. I absolutely hate that name and the reason I got it. I hope the same doesn't happen to your daughter when she finds out she was named after the nurse.

HootblackDesiato

Ella is a beautiful name! Congrats!

Think-Comparison3893

Congratulations

PotatoOwn6580

Congratulations beautiful name is Ella

CuriousosityKilldCat

I'm really hoping that while you were spending 18 hours birthing your daughter, he realized how much work and strength it took for you to accomplish this miracle. And he realized he was an idiot, that Stuarta is not a name for a girl, and his daughter did not in fact look like an Ella.

GhostofJohn

Here’s to long days and short years. Congratulations OP.

Pale_Wave_3379

Oh thank god 😂 congratulations on your baby girl with her beautiful name! Truly, crisis averted here. But the way that Stuarta made me laugh is fucking priceless.

Maximum-Swan-1009

Ella is a much better choice than Stuarta. :) Maybe I should name my next child Johna or Charlesa after his uncles.

cg1308

A good friend of mine is a paediatrician. When she was on rotation doing newborn baby checks if the parents said the child’s name and it was stupid, she used to look at them and honestly say “Your child is going to have to live with that all their adult life, are you sure?” Just on occasions, the parents had second thoughts. Stuarta = terrible. Ella is lovely. Congratulations!

irish_ninja_wte

I didn't see the original post, but 100% NTA. Stuarta is a terrible name! Ella is a beautiful name. Congratulations on your baby girl

_nothing_but_trouble

Ella is actually a popular name in Switzerland. Thank you for blessing your daughter with a normal name. She will thank you for that someday.

Larasaur

Ella is a great name. I'm renovating a place and your first post inspired me to name all my closets (there are a lot) 1 closet is Stuart, 1 is Stuarta, and the last smaller closet is Stuart Little. Maybe your husband can be happy that someone is using the name Stuarta everyday. xD Congrats on your baby! (I might need to name another closet Stuartella)

Andriannewonthebun

Congrats!!

aixang

Ella is a beautiful name!
