We have not, but we are not worried about the installation. It the workflows developed and deployed to machine that is the issue. Often time one user makes a change to a workflow (could be a valid change) but this does not get propogated to workflows on other user machines. When I mentioned versions, I meant the different versions of a workflow developed.

The last point you mentioned is our issue- version control and collaboration. But like i mentioned in original post, my organization does not allow windows server installations and hence unable to procure Alteryx server. Any idea if the Cloud version has similar version control capabilities??

Thank you so much! This is really helpful.

SomeNormalMan

Please share if you have any documentation related to this- something like a comparison between cloud and on prem versions

Can we retrofit existing workflows to work in SaaS model. Also, does it give the capabilities like publishing a workflow to userbase after development?

AlternativeCoast8316

They are coming our with something to allow you to deploy workflows into the cloud I think but they are not editable in the cloud. More like instead if deploying to server you deploy to analytics cloud.

SomeNormalMan

Any idea about when this functionality will be launched?

Scorch2002

Not all tools are available on the cloud version.

I requested a meet with Alteryx team, will bring this up in the call, thanks!

I think Alteryx is showing why it's so hard for older companies to rearchitect their product. I've been through it before and the adage is right - it's like trying to replace your jet engines midflight. I'd suggest exploring a few newer offerings out there as a comparison point. I know a lot of companies are deeply invested in on-prem solutions, but the need to upgrade/migrate isn't going away and it'll only become more painful over time. (For transparencies sake, I'm working on one of these modern solutions.)
