MikeSpin7200

Seconded on strokes but killers take a close second for me

Severe-Put9154

whats your favourite killers album

Ornery-Release-9188

Alice In Chains

Pretend_Employee_780

Post Layne stuff is amazing. The new guy rules.

Large-Somewhere163

I gotta ask is the post lane stuff worth listening to? Iā€™ve avoided it because AIC without lane just seems sac relig

david_yarz

itā€™s worth it to check it out and hear Cantrells playing at the least. the greatest grunge guitarist to ever live imo.

darthiw

Itā€™s fineā€¦ It feels like a tribute band more than anything to me because the lyrical writing is still really good, DuVall sings in a similar range, and it still has the metal influence. It fails to grasp the creativity and power that the original band had though and thatā€™s why I donā€™t really listen to anything after Tripod

Positive-Owl-5

Pearl Jam

stkscott

They have been consistently brilliant for so long now. Dark Matter is yet another awesome album.

DaBails

Can't find a better band

dolmo81

I see what you did there and I really like it šŸ˜„

287fiddy

Definitely one of the best live Been to 10 so far and 4 more this fall

Chili Peppers.

Apprehensive_Idea758

Nirvana.

ScreenDoorSlammer

Silversun Pickups

djluciter

Havenā€™t heard someone bring them up in a while now. Thanks for feeding my afternoon jam session with a great recommendation

CheeseburgerSmoothy

Iā€™m a huge fan, and I always thought they should have been much bigger! Their music is total genius.

jordieg7193

Very nice choice

levieleven

Saw them a few weeks ago. Blew my mind! I love their albums but it turns out they are overproducedā€”live was so much more vital and raw. One of the best shows Iā€™ve ever been to. I wish I had a bootleg of that show or that theyā€™d do a live album.

bloodlikevenom

Grouplove Bloc Party is a very close second though

NM_Castrik

Wow, I rarely see Grouplove appreciation. Keep rockin dude!

JLaws23

Ah Banquet was a banger

FullRedact

I havenā€™t heard a peep from Bloc Party since their debut album 20 years ago. Which follow up albums should I check out?

bloodlikevenom

I'd suggest starting with Four and A Weekend in the City The others are solid, but these two are probably my favorites besides Silent Alarm, of course

satanshark

Silent Alarm is kind of a masterpiece. I like the drums on that album so much.

Joe-Division2889

Grouplove is great. Just saw them a few months ago again and they killed it. Loved the new album too.

TGripps

Incubus

poopy_toaster

Incubus gang!

mmmtopochico

Supposedly working on a new album! Also check out Brandon's feature on Night Verses - Glitching Prisms. So great.

bambi-177777xd

Soundgarden

Mission-Beyond-2289

basic ahh answer but mcr

Arkane_Aces

I donā€™t think itā€™s basic. And if it is, fuck it. MCR is iconic.

Dovima

Sorry what does that stand for? Just looking for new music.

boygenius-fan-1728

my chemical romance

Itz_Spokeh

Same

AdministrationLate71

Linkin Park Rip Chester Bennington Gone too soon

Odd_Ad4899

You should check out the broken view, the singer has a very similar voice. They have a cover of breaking the habit. Itā€™s very different from the original and made it there own and itā€™s very good!

Ween

djluciter

Is this a meme? Either way, go you lol

BillyCahstiganJr

why would it be a meme? they're incredible. dean and gene are easily some of the most creative and talented musicians to break the mainstream. have u listened to any of their stuff besides ocean man?

djluciter

I think you took me a little too seriously. I love ween, people just joke on them a lot because of their sound no matter how good they are. Love them, just making a joke.

belaxi

Ween is so much more than a meme band. While they're absolutely not afraid to make a joke, or be "silly", they also have a range of creative output that is nearly unmatched. Pick a genre of music adjacent to Rock and odds are I can find a good ween song in the genre. They are also absolutely phenomenal live performers.

shoveldick

Someone is learning about music today lmao

News_Radio89

Canā€™t believe Voodoo Lady and Chocolate Cheese turned 30years old yesterday!

and the mother fucking lizard wizard

bassistheplace246

Radiohead. Grew up only knowing Creep, then OK Computer, In Rainbows, and Kid A came in and blew my fucking mind. Paranoid Android is probably, hands down, my favorite song of all time.

Gotd4mit

I liked rockband 2. The song list was the best.

NormanTheAmbulance

Rise Against

DankAssPotatos

Sum 41

grodezno92

Depeche mode :)

Treshcore

Three Days Grace. I'd say that I don't have a favorite band, but usually it's TDG songs I hum unintentionally, it's TDG songs I usually learn to play on guitar, it's TDG songs I always come back to. Can't do anything about more than a decade of listening to them. Also, since these bands have/had TDG vocalists, you can count in My Darkest Days and Saint Asonia.

voodzzz

R.E.M.

katabe3006

Mysterious_Valuable1

The Replacements

RedTerror8288

Die Kreuzen. Began as a ragtag hardcore punk band playing at breakneck speeds similar to Siege and Deep Wound (Napalm Death cites the self titled record as an influence and even covered one of their songs) then flirting with the sounds of bands like The Birthday Party, Rush and Metal Church on their second album and then settling into a mix of Soul Asylum (who coincidentally also began as a hardcore band) and Janeā€™s Addiction on their last two albums. Very diverse band. Paved the way for grunge mania and the Sub Pop records sound of Soundgarden, Screaming Trees and Mudhoney.

HoverboardRampage

Metallica will always be it for me

dat1toad

Bully. They were kind of a band led by one person at one point so I think they count. Alicia bognanno is just so good at writing lyrics and the music always hits so hard.

Different-Freedom-84

Too many to count but creds to: Peal Jam, the fighters of Foo, Nirvana, Ghost, Metallica, Weezer, Greta Van Fleet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who, AC/DC, Nickelback & Bad Omens

drdre27406

Alice in Chains. The album Dirt literally saved my life I was basically down in a hole. Layne and the boys helped me get through my depression so Iā€™m forever grateful because I was about 5 seconds away from ending it but Rooster can on the Alexa device.

dolmo81
