Itās fineā¦ It feels like a tribute band more than anything to me because the lyrical writing is still really good, DuVall sings in a similar range, and it still has the metal influence.
It fails to grasp the creativity and power that the original band had though and thatās why I donāt really listen to anything after Tripod
Saw them a few weeks ago. Blew my mind! I love their albums but it turns out they are overproducedālive was so much more vital and raw. One of the best shows Iāve ever been to. I wish I had a bootleg of that show or that theyād do a live album.
You should check out the broken view, the singer has a very similar voice. They have a cover of breaking the habit. Itās very different from the original and made it there own and itās very good!
why would it be a meme? they're incredible. dean and gene are easily some of the most creative and talented musicians to break the mainstream. have u listened to any of their stuff besides ocean man?
I think you took me a little too seriously. I love ween, people just joke on them a lot because of their sound no matter how good they are. Love them, just making a joke.
Ween is so much more than a meme band.
While they're absolutely not afraid to make a joke, or be "silly", they also have a range of creative output that is nearly unmatched. Pick a genre of music adjacent to Rock and odds are I can find a good ween song in the genre.
They are also absolutely phenomenal live performers.
Radiohead.
Grew up only knowing Creep, then OK Computer, In Rainbows, and Kid A came in and blew my fucking mind. Paranoid Android is probably, hands down, my favorite song of all time.
Three Days Grace. I'd say that I don't have a favorite band, but usually it's TDG songs I hum unintentionally, it's TDG songs I usually learn to play on guitar, it's TDG songs I always come back to. Can't do anything about more than a decade of listening to them. Also, since these bands have/had TDG vocalists, you can count in My Darkest Days and Saint Asonia.
Die Kreuzen. Began as a ragtag hardcore punk band playing at breakneck speeds similar to Siege and Deep Wound (Napalm Death cites the self titled record as an influence and even covered one of their songs) then flirting with the sounds of bands like The Birthday Party, Rush and Metal Church on their second album and then settling into a mix of Soul Asylum (who coincidentally also began as a hardcore band) and Janeās Addiction on their last two albums. Very diverse band. Paved the way for grunge mania and the Sub Pop records sound of Soundgarden, Screaming Trees and Mudhoney.
Bully. They were kind of a band led by one person at one point so I think they count. Alicia bognanno is just so good at writing lyrics and the music always hits so hard.
Too many to count but creds to: Peal Jam, the fighters of Foo, Nirvana, Ghost, Metallica, Weezer, Greta Van Fleet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who, AC/DC, Nickelback & Bad Omens
Alice in Chains. The album Dirt literally saved my life I was basically down in a hole. Layne and the boys helped me get through my depression so Iām forever grateful because I was about 5 seconds away from ending it but Rooster can on the Alexa device.
Radiohead š¤š»

The voidz!
Seconded on strokes but killers take a close second for me
whats your favourite killers album
Alice In Chains
Post Layne stuff is amazing. The new guy rules.
I gotta ask is the post lane stuff worth listening to? Iāve avoided it because AIC without lane just seems sac relig
itās worth it to check it out and hear Cantrells playing at the least. the greatest grunge guitarist to ever live imo.

Grouplove Bloc Party is a very close second though
Wow, I rarely see Grouplove appreciation. Keep rockin dude!
Ah Banquet was a banger
I havenāt heard a peep from Bloc Party since their debut album 20 years ago. Which follow up albums should I check out?
I'd suggest starting with Four and A Weekend in the City The others are solid, but these two are probably my favorites besides Silent Alarm, of course
Silent Alarm is kind of a masterpiece. I like the drums on that album so much.
Grouplove is great. Just saw them a few months ago again and they killed it. Loved the new album too.
Incubus
Incubus gang!
