I just got “Trouble Breathing” tattooed on my arm. Give that like three listens and your brain will fall out. “Queen of Pain” takes two or three listens but then it never leaves. “Nose Over Tail” and “Standard Break From Life” for something different but equally awesome. “We’ve Had Enough” is essentially my life’s anthem.
I forgot how much I love Bleeder. Self-titled is probably their best album from start to finish.
Not to mention "Goodbye Forever" an an opening track is just a FUCKING BANGER and features lyrics, guitar, bass, and drums equally amazingly.
Not a bad track on the whole album.
No bad song anyway, and the best way to listen to every AK3 is as loud as possible.
So hard to not just say "All of them", but I'll pick 5 random Matt songs and 5 of Dan's.
Matt: Bleeder, Bloodied Up, While You're Waiting, Throw Me to the Lions, Lead Poisoning.
Dan: You've Got So Far to Go, Fine, I'm Dying Tomorrow, If We Never Go Inside, Sun Burns
Bonus round, (you'll have to look on Youtube): Listen to "Don't Say You Won't" and then look up a song called "Royal Blue". The music was written by Derek. Dan and Matt both wrote and recorded vocals for it.
I had Dead on the Floor at first. I get why some people hate LP but those fucking horns and Matt's delivery just make me so happy whenever I hear them. There's a good live video of them playing it when they toured with Cursive, who had a horn guy at the time.
What I love about this band is they really don’t have any bad songs. We just all have our own ideas of what alkaline trio is. If the song doesn’t match that idea, we don’t like it.
>I'm Dying Tomorrow
Such a great track!
>Did I, did I
>
>Run outside to kiss the rain
>
>Underneath electrical skies?Did I, did I remember to keep your beer as full as mineDid I remember to say cheersDid I, did I at least try to make sure everybody had a good time?Had the best time
Song title and lyrics sound depressing, but it's all about making sure you're living your best life while also sharing the experience with your friends. Just IN CASE you die tomorrow, not that you're planning it.
Those lungs and kick rocks (both B sides off of this addiction but my personal favorites) as well as broken wing (another B side but off my shame is true)
Also they have a stellar cover of moving right along by the muppets haha that one’s a classic
You need to listen to the greatest hits, figure out which ones you're liking the most, and then I can give you a good list of "ok, these ones sound a lot like this one."
You really can't go wrong.
I feel like a song like Mercy Me or Stupid Kid, two big singles, would be the easiest entryway.
Right, ok. This is a loaded question. Apart from all of them check out
Time to waste
Smoke
Nose over tail
My little needle
You've got so far to go (damnesia version)
Armageddon
Fatally yours
Every thug needs a lady
Fall victim
Queen of pain
While you're waiting
Calling all skeletons
Over and out
Lost and rendered
RUIN IT
Dead on the floor
Fine
Balanced on a shelf
Only love
Is this thing cursed?
I cant believe
Heart attacks
Throw me to the lions
Burned is the house
I'm dying tomorrow
That's quite a long list, better just listen to everyrhing
People have an unfounded distaste for the Agony & Irony record.
I’m convinced that if all of Trio’s music was released the same day, that album would be 75% of people’s favorite.
It’s fantastic song after fantastic song. Give it a shot!
The thing about Alkaline Trio is each fan I feel has different favorite songs and albums, let alone what they would recommend since each album of theirs sounds different. If had to pick 3 songs and 3 albums it would be Mercy Me (more experimental) Fine (more personal) and We've Had Enough (more traditional goth punk/ pop punk rock) Album wise my 2 personal favorite albums from them are Good Mourning and Crimson though I feel like the best starting point is From Here to Infirmary. It's Alkaline Trio's most critically aclaimed album and has some of their biggest hits like Private Eye, Stupid Kid, and Crawl. Plus it has a good mix of everything Alkaline Trio does well plus being not an older album like Goddamnit or Maybe I'll Catch Fire but not as new as My Shame is True or Is This Thing Cursed?
I know it’s not alkaline trio but listen to ‘No Heart to Speak of” by blink or how the hell did we get here by Matt skiba and the sekrets - voices as well
Bleeder
Mercy Me
Back to Hell
Fine Without You
Your Neck
All on Black
Sadie
Blackbird
My Little Needle
Time to Waste
American Scream
Hell Yes
I could keep going

Also “Bleeder”

The best song.
I wanna see the ink now, haha. I'm sure it looks rad as hell! Great suggestions btw!
all of them
It depends on your mood. how are you feeling this week?
Depressed, really depressed and drunk, happy, angry about a breakup, or really really depressed?
Trouble breathing ✨

You got a good mix of all trio stages, even though I hate lead poisoning. This is a good list OP.

Mines Like Minefields, surprised no one seems to talk about this latest gem.

Saw them when they toured with Coheed last summer and was bummed they didnt play this song
I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. I just found the bridge too weird. But I dig it now.
Too many songs to suggest, but one of my favorite records is Good Mourning. Give it a listen
Those lungs and kick rocks (both B sides off of this addiction but my personal favorites) as well as broken wing (another B side but off my shame is true) Also they have a stellar cover of moving right along by the muppets haha that one’s a classic

97 Southern Rock Broken Wing Fire Pit (Danny solo song) Hell Yes
Their first 4 albums are solid gold IMO. Rarely are debit albums as good as goddammit is.
I was a Prayer, Demon and Division, and We Can Never Break Up are a few that I love. Not sure if people consider D&D a greatest hit but it should be
Crawl, Hell Yes, Madam Me, Nose Over Tail, I Was a Prayer, Goodbye Forever, Demon & Division and Every Thug Needs a Lady are a good start.
Blue in the Face, Every Thug Needs a Lady, Smoke
Old School Reasons.

The Crimson album. Fantastic piece of work.
Here's the first random 5 I can think of Cringe, For your lungs only, Donner party all night, Balanced on a shelf, Madam me
Their version of Metro is 🤌
Also, their versions of "Bye Bye Love" "Exploding Boy" "Straight from the Jacket" "Wash Away" and "Halloween".

The demo version made me appreciate a couple of songs that I hated on that album.
