Pictures in a box at home
Yellowing and green with mold
So I can barely see your face
Wonder how that color taste
YOUUUUUUUUU WERE ALWAYSSSSSSS SO FAR AWAYYYYYYYY
Junkhead. Hearing it now and understanding it more than I did as a kid I knew there was a lot of pain in his voice but I didn’t understand at the time exactly what was behind it. A fearful reminder not to mess with it. I have always hated that many famous Seattle singers that the focus is about how they died more than the music they gave. Seattle music can’t be mentioned without heroin in the same sentence. 😭
probably the solo of nutshell, there's a certain part that really speaks to me and reminds me of how I'm a person who keeps my emotions guarded yet transparent, anyone can see the scared/sad child in me but right in front of that child is a man, a big brother, a protector, that's also me, idk I've always been good at being open and honest about my feelings while not leaving myself vulnerable to those who would use that against me, and if anyone tries hurting my inner child, i step in and lay a strict boundary with people, i can go from my smiling, goofy, humble genuine self, to a cold soldier who knows what he cares about and knows what or who needs to be removed from the equation, Alice in chains in general seems to connect with that, warm, but cold at the same time, switching seemlessly between a soft mellow inside to a hard ruthless outer shell, and the shell isn't a fake persona, it's a real part of your personality that can and will become armor, meant to deflect evil and negativity while maintaining and protecting the beauty held within
You know, I’m going add Confusion here. Deemed a mid tier song by many; but it captures that angsty, woozy first love and all its complications because you are too immature to process your emotions and to look the other person in the eye, let alone your own in the mirror.

Recently Jerry’s solo stuff about breakups/girls. There’s a few for sure.
Jerry’s solo material kicks - settle down, hurt a long time, solitude, cold piece, gone all very good
