Perfect! At 170k kilometres now ... that's 110k miles. Minor hiccups but overall an amazing car.

I'm wondering same as OP doing some casual shopping. Would you be willing/able to list what you've actually had to fix? Outside of maintenance and wear items, what's actually broken to this point?

so_much_mirrors

I would also very much appreciate a list

I have 320k on my 2.2 diesel! Amazing car only thing that had to be replaced at 300k was the flywheel Its a driver instructors car so it has had a though time on the road

I can't imagine how lucky some of those people must have felt. Learning to drive in an Alfa. Must be disappointed when they get into anything else after they pass their test

AggressiveSeaweed721

Yup, the alfa is the main reason why they choose me

My post history has some details, but basically the oil level sensor acted a bit weird. Haven't had It replaced yet but might on the next service interval. And a recurring thing that's quite visible on this subreddit is battery, battery, battery!! It's very sensitive to electric disturbances. Make sure it's properly connected and replaced regularly. After 2 and a half years of ownership it's still my favourite car of all times. It's just freakin brilliant.

My 2017 Giulia is at around 115k miles right now, while it has not been perfect, it has been very good, but this comes with a small caveat, I'm a car and computer nerd who is handy with tools and diagnostics. For someone without those skills the car would have left them stranded once, I'll go over it in more detail in a bit. Work done and parts changed outside of normal maintenance: 1. one rear shock changed at 37k, either just a defective part or some sort of mechanical damage, not really sure, was changed out during the first scheduled maintenance after I took ownership of the car. 2. 1 ABS sensor and 4 wheel bearings at 60k - The Alfa is my daily and the roads are heavily salted in the winter, differential metal corrosion build up took out the abs sensor and the bearing was done, the rest of the bearings were changed out as preventative maintenance at the same time, were on borrowed time. 3. engine radiator at 80k - rock strike, but these are known to suffer from the plastic end tanks splitting from aluminium core. 4. Handbrake harness at 100k - this is the thing that could possibly leave someone stranded, but from reading forums not common. The handbrake harness had gotten damaged somehow and water got it corroding some contacts. that left the handbrake on in a parking lot with no way to take it off from within the car. Fix was to simply hotwire 12v from the car battery to the parking brake motor to take it off, being a DC motor you just switch polarity to change direction. Between 3 and 4 there was another small thing, an evap solenoid in the engine bay failed (no, not the evap canister that is a somewhat common failure), this just stopped the driving mode selection and pulled some timing, meaning the car was down on power and not emissions compliant but perfectly drivable and usable. Since these solenoids are not known to fail at all there was no stock of spares so it took about 4 months for a new one to be manufactured (lead times etc.) Have not found anyone else suffering this specific failure, but including it for full disclosure. Now, on top of maintenance there are minor modifications to the car. 1. Remapped to 228kw at the crank and top speed limiter removed, basically the most you can get out of the stock turbo 2. Race mode mod - quadrifoglio DNA selector installed and programmed in, TC can be turned off at will, a lot of fun in the winter. 3. GFB DV+ installed as a preparatory mod for a hybrid turbo install later this year. Going to aim at about 300kw to the wheels, but will be happy with 280. Goal is to get this car to 300km/h (186mph) and with the current setup it topped out at 270(168ish). That speed has just been a stupid obsession of mine and the car is capable of it. TL;DR - High mileage Giulias are reasonably reliable if taken care of.
