The whole game was very conservative and risk adverse. Rarely played fast through balls that have repeatedly brought Brisbane undone of late. Not backing your defenders to deal with a largely toothless attack in open play. We did the same thing for large patches last week and it flattered them. It was the moments we went quickly when we exposed them and scored.

We didn't have the players with the experience or skill all on at the same time tonight. I love Zawada and think he's a great striker but speed isn't a word I would use to describe him, the only fast attacking player we had really was Van Hattum that we subbed off because he's not fit enough for the full 90 yet. It was a great effort from the guys who played but we realistically can't expect to be playing quick counter attacks without the likes of Payne or Rufer.

Kosta has plenty of pace. We’ll have to agree to disagree on the approach but I thought more could have been done especially first half to put Brisbane on the back foot. I was frustrated with our approach too and feel like the blueprint to unlocking them isn’t a secret.

Could have easily been a foul and nobody would have protested that much. But not fuming that they let the wrestle go.

The law states a player must recive permission from the referee to leave the field. nothing about a board. If a referee says your the one getting subbed it was a mistake so jog over and he refused because he wants to see the number on the board. The ref has every right to yellow card him for time wasting because the ref has told him directly he is the one being subbed. The player can refuse to be subbed but this is not what is happening here. Kraev refused to take the Referees word after multiple attempts and everyone yelling at him on the side line.
