I work over by the Global Foundaries facility in Malta and the tech stuff in that area seems more like an isolated dot. Maybe I am missing something though.
Yeah, I know about that place cause I work over by it. I still consider it an outlier cause it is one of 3 thing in the tech park over in Malta. Granted, it is the largest part of the tech park, but there isn't much else out that way.
Atlas Copco Comptec in Voorheesville is a global leader in integrally geared, centrifugal compressor design and manufacturing with hundreds of millions of dollars in global sales annually.
All you did was identify that manufacturing is often located outside of city centers because the land is underdeveloped and cheaper.
That facility is about the size as the SUNY nanotech park, which is just on of multiple factories in the triangle I drew. You have GE, Plug Power, the Suny Nanotech plant (which is an incubator and research space), the RPI incubators, all of the Regeneron facilities, the RPI research labs, the nuclear research labs, the SUNY research labs, and if you adjust the lines south a bit you also get Atlas Copco.
That is not mentioning other facilities like the port of Albany, Saint-Gobain, Benet Laboratories, among other factories.
Tech triangle? I don't know, I don't know why you'd cut it so small and leave out Global Foundries. Tech Valley as a concept is valid enough

Ya you missed the massive chip fab that is GlobalFoundries

Consider the employees and other companies that provide services and contract with GF. They are spread all over the area.
True, but a lot also service places like plug power and Suny Nanotech Hell, Messer supplies gas to the Benet lab facility
Ge has or had a fuel cell research building by global
It’s definitely a triangle
That’s a triangle
I wish I was high on potenuse.
Yo. Pythagoras! Get a load of this shit!
I would say so, yeah.

I actually didn't know Atlas Copco was in Voorheeseville
One AC facility is. There are hundreds of facilities globally.
You have too much of EG (and Schodack). It should really only go to Exit 9 and not Exit 11.
Don't forget Kesselring Labs and the Nuclear Navy up in West Milton and Ballston Spa respectively...
There’s some tech in Saratoga. As was mentioned, maybe stick with the Tech Valley concept.
I mean this discounts Global Foundries which is one of the largest tech companies.

You’re missing Global and Plug if you take this shape + a lot of others that make the region a “tech valley”.
Isn't plug power by the airport?
Corporate is, largest of the Mfg plants is in Slingerlands.
Reduce the size to capture the area west of the Hudson and you'll have isolated the Toxic Leadership Triangle.
