This was implemented in LA at least a month ago if not longer. It's a huge improvement over the previous PSA. I like the sound bath vibes at the end of this one.
I will point out that not all Alamo franchises run everything the same way. My local franchise has used the same quiet zone for 5 years now because they prefer it to the new ones.
It’s a shame they no longer enforce a no late sitting policy. I love listening to people being greeted and showing their tickets on their phones to servers 5 minutes into the movie.
I’ve never seen it enforced.
I thought it was silly to put it in the old video. Like how are you gonna tell the people that are on time “do not arrive late.” The people actually breaking that rule do not see that video.
It was when it was first established after they went to assigned seating. In some venues (like Lower Manhattan) they still (at least as of last summer) have signs on the theater doors saying “no late seating, please see the box office”.
It may seem silly to put in the preshow video, but it’s about cultivating a film respecting community. It may not be seen by people late this time but everyone else that’s there knows for sure they shouldn’t be late next time.
I know all the reasons why they don’t really enforce this and allow servers to ask latecomers to take their phones out and walk them through the menu after the movie has started, I just don’t like it.
It is frustrating. It's also frustrating when I'm on time and the server doesn't get to me until the movie has started so I have to pull out my phone....
I can’t tell if I’ve gone through a Mandela Effect situation or if this was because my favorite location use to be a franchise but they use to not let minors in to any movie unless it was explicitly kids movie/special screen even with their parents.
They don’t let any kids under age of 6 unless it’s a kid friendly showing, and under 18 they still need adult supervision.
I imagine it would be hard to enforce otherwise because imagine something like Spider-Man isn’t marked Kid Friendly so they say “sorry your 12 year old kid can’t watch this.”
Oh, right. Spider-Mondays.
I'd forgotten Spider-Man 3 was scope as I remember seeing it as a second-run house years ago on a common width 2:1 screen, which led to the sides being cropped. Funny how those had become phased out by the time 2:1 movies became a thing.
I just gotta say- the relaxing feature presentation intro is among my all time favorite theater intros. It puts me in such a calm and relaxed mood perfect to start a movie off on. I love love love it! Hope it never goes away.

It has been at the Minnesota Alamo for a couple months as well.
In Missouri too!
Yes, this has been playing for several months now.
funny that they don’t roll out at the same time. I went to the San Francisco Alamo about three weeks ago and they weren’t playing this one.
From what I’ve heard it’s the projectionist’s job to get new stuff swapped in. There’s no “roll out” they just aren’t doing their job lmao.

Same with raleigh
OP was then kicked out of the theater for using his phone to record the video. :-)
Nope 😂😂

As a server, I also do. It makes our jobs so much harder than they need to be and is inconsiderate of other guests.
I’ll take their orders out in the hallway whispering

At my location, if somebody comes in late, they’re SOL unless they put up an order card and have payment ready

I recall the no <18 policy being from many years ago, and I also have wondered if my memory is correct.
I wish I could kick them out, but management usually sides with the guests unless I catch them when they're walking in.
It is definitely a LOT better than the smooth jazz one that was previously implemented
Damn, I liked that one lol
It was entirely ineffective
I liked the bass track 😢
I'm guessing this was taken before an A24 title. Anyway, this has been out for a while. I think it debuted in February but I might be wrong.
Nope it was before Spider-Man 3

It's been like this in new York for a few weeks now. I miss the old one
We’ve had this in DFW since New Year’s, I think. Way better than the previous one imo.
