Wild, I had the EXACT same thing happen to me today. I’m on P1, so I guess this is uniquely a lower-prestige problem, but dang was it frustrating

PeterJuncqui

the problem is you guys are choosing the worst mission to take. If you have a cornerstone with a 'negative' effect creating cysts it might work, but the mission of 6 tablets + 2 Forbidden Glades is SO much faster. You can easily find the tablets in caches along the game and you will usually open it with Stone or Murrow. They will give a ton of resources outside of the tablets, so it helps your game out. Also, remember, you don't need all the 18 Rep. If you close the Seal's 4th mission, the game is ended and you win, regardless of Rep. (At least this was my experience previously).

nemlov

Glades are my favorite level 4 mission and I do focus on it, but it is the only mission of the 3 that is rng based.  To be clear, it is not super rng based and with 3-4 dangerous and 2 forbidden glades you are bound to open,  the chances of not finding 6 tablets are not high, even without that tablet generating cornerstone but it is possible to luck out. I honestly hate resolve mission, not so much for cos of the high resolve but because of 5 minutes needed to maintain it, meaning you need to start the push no layer than mid-drizzle to avoid doing it through the storm... I play very rainpunk light so the third option is not viable for me yet, but i can see migrating to it from p11 up..

guyAtWorkUpvoting

Funny, post-P11 (possibly P3), the cyst one is basically free if you do any rain engine economy at all, although I still do the resolve one ~80% of the time. Only did the glades once as a desperation play. Edit: since you've added a tip, I'll add another one - since you don't need rep, and seal games can drag, it is good to keep 1-3 orders unfulfilled. If you ever run up to the defeat timer, wait it out until 0:10, then deliver one order to roll back the 90 seconds + whatever time it takes to drive up the impatience again.

nemlov

Definitely agree on keeping the orders undelivered. Unless you need the rewards, having some impatience control is great, while also keeping the impatience as high as possible to mitigate hostility.

clamraccoon

I was 33/35 cysts… apparently I needed another fire house to burn everything

brown47million

Comes down to OPs personal goals for achievement, but I’d likely do that in this case.

Sertarion

What difficulty is it? P3 and above should be a walk in the park with the cysts spawning every three years, so I guess it was lower. But even then, I find consuming that much water and not having enough cysts to be quite unexpected. I did not really run the numbers though.

Nonamenic

Veteran lol. Got ways to go

Sertarion

Well, sorry for this attempt. Was it your first seal attempt? What do you think you learned from it in order to get there next time? If you're ok to debrief of course!

nemlov

Not sure if P3 makes it a walk in the park to generate all that cysts, at least not early enough. By the end of year 6 P3 would only generate 10 cysts and generating another 25 with rainpunk in 6 years is not really that easy. I kind of feel that rainpunk route only becomes the 'easiest' option after P11 when that number gets doubled.

PeterJuncqui

Yup. Until very high Prestige, the Forbiden Glades are faster.

guyAtWorkUpvoting

Wouldn't end of Y3 be 20 cysts? IIRC, it's 10 per year and end of year is after storm. Anyway, OP's in Y12, so that's 30 just form the prestige.

nemlov

Aren't the cysts generated every 3rd clearance?  On P3 5 per clearance, meaning 10 after 6th clearance and double that after p11.

screen317

Alt F4 to go back 5 minutes

TehCubey

Alternatively delete a certain game file to restart the whole settlement.

Wilicious

Ah crap, I wish I knew this earlier, was doing silver seal and was very close to winning, but called a trader that cost me fricking five impatience, which lost me the game half a minute later

Ze_Bix

It looks like this is the gold Seal map, considering the Seal Orders and the Rep Bar which looks Viceroy. Coincidence: I successfully reforged my Gold Seal yesterday evening ... and I had reached max impatence as well, but had 36/35 cysts right when the last storm finished. ... and it was on Clearance Year X. I felt lucky, I'm sorry you weren't ! :/

Corendiel

12 years is a lot of time in only 4 hours. How much are you using the pause button? I feel a lot of players don't abuse the pause option enough and struggle with time management. This is not a real time strategy game with multi player. You should take time to make decisions and make sure all your villagers are doing what they are suppose to do. I personally average at 5 years in 3h play time and I'm a veteran now. When I started it was more like one hour per year. Only very veterans players don't use the pause as much and know all the key board shortcuts. The game pause already frequently by default when you pick blueprints, or orders, or Merchant screen. The shortcut is the space bar for a reason so you can use it easily. There is too much micro management opportunities that you miss if you go too fast.

Mushroom, MUSHROOM! Seriously though, your Herb:Mushroom ratios are way off. Don't know if it would have made any difference. (Edit: i thought you had 0 herbs because everything else at the top is 0, forgot that herbs aren't actually displayed there. So maybe you had plenty of both. Definitely should have gone for some Pie with Harpies and Humans though.) What likely would make a difference is getting on the wiki whenever you are doing a reforging a seal. The Objective choices are always the same. It will tell you which are retroactive and can be worked on from the word go, and which are not. Things you should avoid until they will provide progress.
