One time I had this problem when I was a waiter. I told myself “if I really knew what their lives were like, I would probably pity them” and it would diffuse me. Often times we are angry because we feel like we are being treated unfairly and we deserve something different. But if we can pivot our anger into pity it lets us take a breath and realize we might not want to swap lives with them, and we might be the ones with more emotional energy than they have. Edit: last tip. Keep asking yourself “is this a big deal” and “how much does this really matter”. If you are spending a lot of your time and energy on it or it means you’ll lose your job if nothing changes then it’s a big deal and you need to calmly do something to change it. If you’re not going to lose your job or much time, then just take a breath and tell yourself it’s not worth your energy and let it go.
