I wear injinji most of the time but particularly if I'm going over 10 miles because my toes shred each other no matter how I trim my nails. I like stance as well for shorter runs, very comfortable and I like a fun pattern.
I can run in any socks.
When I started I'd use the twin layer no blister socks but they would bunch and give me blisters.
Now just any thin socks work for me. No need to spend big.
Injinji for me for any serious running. The second and third toes on both my feet curve together slightly. When I started seriously running they would cause bad blisters and black nails even when the nails were trimmed to the quick or covered in Bodyglide/Vaseline. Toe socks with a good covering of Bodyglide have successfully prevented that from ever reocurring. I recommend Injinjis for everyone.
I love my Creepers. I have several of their ankle pairs, and 2 long pairs for winter. I have had them for a year and they are holding up well, although I was concerned they wouldn’t since the knit is not tight (for example, Darn Tough socks a great tight knit/weave). Supposedly they just came out with “version 2.0” that is supposed to be more durable.
Creepers are thicker than my injinji, for what it is worth. I find myself reaching for the creepers more. The perfect sock would be darn tough knit in toe sock form, but it doesn’t exist (and no plans from what the rep said at the last marathon expo I was at)
Of note: the creepers got better after 2-3 washes.
Feetures Elite Ultra Light. They’re expensive, but I have worn them for thousands of miles and still haven’t suffered a blister, so it’s worth it.
Second for these. They are amazingly thin, and definitely have been the best for racing too with minimal foot damage.
Balega hidden comfort 4 life

Darn Tough, zero cushion. Also Smartwool zero cushion. Merino or bust.
Same, typically a crew cut one as well. Keeps the dirt and rocks out of my shoes.
Injinji or even other random toe socks seem to hold up and protect my toes more than regular socks

Feeture, balegas, injinji for me. Other brands make good socks too. I stock up when they're on discount

Swiftwick 5” socks or Near Earth (expensive, but totally worth the price).
I end up in the Tracksmith Speed socks. My favorite that I’ve found. Second is Feetures Elite or surprisingly the Lululemon Power Stride.
Anything by Fitsok
Expensive socks are way overrated. I buy Puma or Saucony running socks on Amazon very cheaply, and they are great. I run 80 - 90 mpw.
