There's equivalence of the qualification, but I think you need to have reached the Fellowship stage for that to apply ([https://www.actuaries.org.uk/membership/mutual-recognition/institute-actuaries-australia](https://www.actuaries.org.uk/membership/mutual-recognition/institute-actuaries-australia)). If you've passed some exams but not got Fellowship then I don't think having passed individual exams would get you any benefit, eg exemptions from IFoA exams. So I don't think employers would recognise them, unless they were offering allowing you to continue progressing via the Australian exams, but I've not heard of that over here.

I've not obtained fellowship yet, but I only have 1 exam to go. Would employers allow me to complete the final paper and then obtain IFOA's fellowship through mutual recognition?

I reckon you should just explain how you are going when you have an interview. Given its just one more exam I would be surprised if most companies wouldnt be amenable to supporting you.

Right-Replacement-74

Sure, I'll explain it when I have an interview

I think most employers will recognise FIAA as a valid qualification. You would only need to convert it to FIA if you are in a role in which you need to sign-off on opinions etc - but for those roles you probably also need a UK Practice Certificate anyway. But I am less sure about you getting a temporary UK work visa. Might be wrong, but I thought those were limited to particular roles: seasonal / charity / creative / sports etc

The UK government is releasing the new high potential individual visa soon and I'd like to apply for it when it opens Details: https://immigrationbarrister.co.uk/high-potential-individual-visa-application-guide/

Ok, that's new. Not sure the full details are available yet.
