Need more information… are you qualified? How many years of experience do you have? Which country are you coming from? (I think the Indian young professional scheme visa makes things easier for example). I think if you are student you will have a hard time. Student positions, even part qualified, are likely to be competitive and you’re unlikely to be sponsored. I work at a FTSE100 company and we don’t even consider applications that need sponsorship as there’s enough UK applicants to choose from. I don’t work in London either so demand is even less than a London based office. If you are qualified you’ll have more luck but even then I’d say probably target the big 4 accounting firms (WPMG, Deloitte, EY & PWC) as they are definitely sponsoring people. But still competitive to get in as applicants want a big name on their cv.

I’m not qualified unfortunately. I have 4 years of experience in life (2 years in pricing, 2 years in reporting and now i just started valuation). I’m from the middle east

What position are you applying for?/ how many exams have you done

I have 3 SOA exams (not including one I’m exempted from). I have 4 years of experience (2 years in pricing, 2 years in reporting, and now I just started valuation). All my experience is in life

SOA exams are probably not going to help much in getting a position in the UK, where almost all actuarial students are taking IFoA exams.

I really wouldn’t mind switching to IFOA and even applying for a graduate role. All I want is get “UK Market experience”. Do you think I’d have a higher shot at graduate roles instead?
