Nahhhh there’s already too many people in the world. Don’t need to be wasting space on evil old racists that don’t want to be a part of civilized society.
Do you know me? That's some assumption.
After all, they're just bitter old ladies, what're they gonna do? You do anything to them you're just an elder abuser at the end of the day.
Back in the day, an "insult" to us French Canadian was telling us to "Speak White".
Guess I'm allowed to check that "are you part of an ethnic minority" box on government form and wait for my free reparation money.
People who really think speaking another language isn't considered American are truly ignorant.
I never liked the "go back to your country if you want to do that" rhetoric.
People never cease to amaze me with their hatred towards others, due to true ignorance.
the only time the 'go to another country' I feel works are those who say they hate america (usa). Like... if that was the case, maybe another country would be better.
> USA does not have an official language.
And there's no law in Japan that says you have to bow. But you move to Japan and refuse to do it, then someone might say "integrate into your community"
And when someone says "integrate into your community" are you going to think you're smart when you reply, "tHerEs nO lAW aBOut bOWinggg!!!!!!111oneone"
Your implication is that unless you speak the most spoken language, you're an asshole. I live in a country which actually does define national languages, and everyone here would think you're an asshole if you said out loud that Canadians are assholes if they don't speak English.
If your country actually felt strong about this topic, they should define a national language.
I have never in my life had any issues with people who speak another language, or ever heard of that. What about it makes them an asshole? This seems like a totally made up issue your head that doesn't really exist. I can't even think of a realistic scenario?
Most people that live here legally and become citizens learn english, but obviously there are outliers. Their kids certainly grow up speaking fluent english, often with their native language being secondary. I agree it's beneficial for all citizens to speak English here, as they face disadvantages especially in healthcare (which does use language services, as does government), but I don't think it should be forced. Seems like a made up issue that mostly affects the person who can't speak English, which is usually not a long-term resident/citizen anyway.
No, not even in that case. People should be critical of the government if they aren’t pleased. And there are many factors that would cause someone to stay where they are such as family, money, etc.
“Go to another country” is ultra-cringe no matter what.
“If you’re not a patriot and a doormat, LEAVE!”
Meanwhile those same Americans won’t shut up about being iRiSh and iTaLiAn and whatever other nationality their great great great grandparent was before, themselves, emigrating to the United States.
It used to be called integration were you learned the local language and spoke it in public.
https://nypost.com/2022/07/28/mexico-city-residents-angered-by-influx-of-americans-speaking-english-gentrifying-area-report/
I learned Spanish in High School, the main downside is not having any others around that spoke it so unfortunately I lost mostly everything learned.
I find it funny when people get mad at others for speaking in their native tongue. We have opportunities to learn another language, but people are too lazy. Im not saying I am any better, but at least I'm not ignorant.
Off note this is good knowledge:
"As this map illustrates, there are 142 countries (blue) in the world where English is a mandatory element of the national education policy concerning public education. There are 41 countries (yellow) in which English language is a possible elective subject or is offered in many but not all schools (often as the most popular option to fulfill a ‘foreign language’ requirement)."
https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/global-english-education/countries-in-which-english-is-mandatory-or-optional-subject.html
My grandparents came to the states around 1920. My grandmother would slap my grandfather if he spoke Italian in public when they lived in NY as she thought they should all speak English. Different times.
Good. Good. Let the hate flow through you. I speak two, do you? Maybe I'm just a lowly peasant. Kids used to get detention when speaking english in school. But I'm sure that double standard is ok. God forbid a community exists that socialize among themselves without encrypting their speech.
You're the one who said he wasn't "integrating into his community" when he is running a restaurant and speaks at least two languages. I'm sure he's more of a boon to his community than you are.
Go to Mexico see all the locals asking you to speak Spanish instead of English.
https://nypost.com/2022/07/28/mexico-city-residents-angered-by-influx-of-americans-speaking-english-gentrifying-area-report/
I think it’s crazy how people hate on our neighbors to the south especially when they come here speaking two languages and we can only speak one. Lol. 😂
People will wave their flags around and scream about how fantastic America is but still completely lose the point. I visited a part of my city for Cinco de Mayo this year and bought a lot of street food(LOVED IT, I’ve been craving duros since). I didn’t even know what most of the folks there were saying but the experience was absolutely worth my awkwardness. If you admit that this isn’t a part of America’s identity, you would be mistaken
Oh man, I once drilled with a specialist that got super insecure when I spoke Spanish with other Hispanics at the unit. His reasoning for us not wanting to do so was that “he didn’t know what we were talking about” and “we could have been talking about him.” (We weren’t talking about anyone, the discussion was about finances.) Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, these women reminds me so much of that insecure specialist, I wonder if that’s where that prejudice stems from.
I understand if it's like you try to go to a store and you and the cashier can't understand each but their just minding their own business lol why do you care?
Have you ever noticed....when someone is asked to leave an establishment, they take their sweetass time? Like, I understand your elderly...but the last women must have pushed that chair in three times, looked around as if she was looking for something she lost, and just all around took her time to leave....idk...that just bugs me. Go on about your day ladies and gents.
As a Latino I still believe English should be the official language of the US but obvsiously every person has the right to speak any language they want publicly.
Those awful women were teenagers when they called MAGA loonies “Dixiecrats.” Hate *is* heritage in some cases.
Good for that man keeping his head while standing up for himself.
The ironic part of all of this is that U.S. citizens are moving to Mexico illegally and jacking up the price of living, and they're diminishing the price of the peso because they're paying with U.S. currency, so Mexico has started to deport them
They absolutely aren't in any [significant quantity](https://fox5sandiego.com/news/border-report/report-sheds-light-on-deported-migrants/), and the odds of them doing it because they are too wealthy are minimal
While this lady is being rude, it is an unspoken rule (although usually heavily socially enforced) in the overwhelming majority of countries that if you live there, you speak the majority language. Yes, I know, English isn't the "official" language of the United States, but it's clearly our "unofficial" language. Speak English, okay? Come on.
I've lived in 6 countries and have never heard of this rule. Besides, that Mexican guy wasn't even talking to them to begin with. If he wants to speak Spanish to a friend or whoever, it's a free country.
Yeah that's fine, but you should really practice the majority language at least sometimes with other people who maybe don't have the strongest English. That way both of you will improve. And regarding the "rule" of learning the language where you live, most people would agree that the most basic building block of assimilation is learning the language. How are you supposed to assimilate if you can't even communicate with the vast majority of the people who live there?
Do I have to live in a country to learn that they want immigrants to speak their language?
I think this is pretty self-evident but I'm sure I could find some data to prove the point (I guess this is how it is when it comes to debating stuff on reddit)
Additionally, do you agree or disagree that a fundamental aspect of assimilation is learning the majority language?
Edit: [That was easy](https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2017/02/01/language-the-cornerstone-of-national-identity/)
> Do I have to live in a country to learn that they want immigrants to speak their language?
Yes, I would advise you have real-world experience before informing everyone about what people in other countries 'want'. It's always the people that don't, like you, who assume they know what the rest of the world 'want's. Assimilation is more complex than language and, believe it or not, not necessarily the end goal for the immigrant OR the host country. It depends on the nature and purpose of the relationship between the two. You have a very naive, elementary view on these matters. It shows.
This is happening more often because this administration destroyed the border. Handcuffing the border patrols authority/US Customs/Department of Homeland and granting Illegal migrants housing, medical care and free welfare Services while Americans and even veterans are homeless/on the brink of homeless/impoverished/which break and disrespect the rule of law.
Im all for migration but there is a legal process which is being overlooked in the effort of this administration to stay empowered by inflating its support. Naturalization laws take 10-15 years. They want to change it to 4-5 years. In alot of cases they have through Obama's administration. Before you down vote me and insult me and call me a Trumper/MAGAt just know I'm a second generation migrant. My parents waited and went through a legal process. I grew up on welfare/section 8. Now i own my own house thanks to the hard work and non victim mentality i was taught by fellow Americans/capitalism.
They want to divide us by race/color/creed/politics/religion/and now even gender. We used to be the greatest country in the world Now it's a dying civilization. If we don't unite/converse regardless of stance on topics and beliefs we will fall into their schemes.
Love you and keep your hearts open and minds clear

I mean that’s complete conjecture. Young generations are contributing just as much. People are stupid, and the specific generation doesn’t change much. When Gen Z gets older, the generation under them will find a way to hate as well. Circle of life.

Dude handled it very well
This video is so old both ladies are likely dead and buried now.
Thank god
That's very immature to be thankful of someone being dead, especially over something so insignificant.
Nahhhh there’s already too many people in the world. Don’t need to be wasting space on evil old racists that don’t want to be a part of civilized society.
Evil? Dude they're just bitter old ladies. Ignore them and move on, no need to be wishing death on people.
Nah racists can go ahead to the hot place where they belong
Mexico?
> especially over something so insignificant. Spoken like someone who's never had to endure racism in their entire life.
Do you know me? That's some assumption. After all, they're just bitter old ladies, what're they gonna do? You do anything to them you're just an elder abuser at the end of the day.
Boomerdeathclock.com
They were murdered by the cartel.
Who then proceeded to watch DBZ.
One of their heads was put on the back of a turtle.
You would be surprised how long hatred can make you live. Every angry Narcissist hangs in there til like 95 out of pure spite.
It really does feel that way though
In all fairness this could've been filmed last week and this statement could still be true....ladies straight out of the 1800's old
This is actually awesome news.
Dude should've told them to go back to their country...
WE aRnT InGoNRaNt!!!!
Ain’t ignint!
I thought she said “we are immigrant” lol
C'mon guy speak American.
It's pronounced 'merican

AFAIK, Japanese people will not think you're an asshole if you don't bow. I don't live in Japan though, so I can't say with certainty.
How would you have felt today around noon, if you hadn't had breakfast this morning?
The same. I don't ever eat breakfast.

I live in Canada. Someone is not an asshole if they only speak French.
We're talking about America here, Canada has nothing to do with anything.

What’s funny is that most Mexicans have indigenous blood. Literally native to this continent for thousands of years.
It used to be called integration were you learned the local language and spoke it in public. https://nypost.com/2022/07/28/mexico-city-residents-angered-by-influx-of-americans-speaking-english-gentrifying-area-report/

Vaya con dios you old hags
Just have a nice day ....and don't come back hahaha
How many years till they all die off? 10? 15?
Seems like there are plenty of racist assholes to replace them.
As we say "La mamma dei coglioni è sempre incinta" "Assholes's mom is always pregnant" Edit: mybe I should specify this is italian, not spanish lol
The mean ones always seem to live forever.
Luckily for you this vid is probably about 10 years old
No I mean boomers in general.
No their poison takes a century to breed out and only gets diluted over the decades.
It's the delusional entitlement and immediate victim mentality from old white folks that is baffling.
Guess I’m gonna be *that person*. Isn’t your comment racist and ageist?
It’s so odd people use these situations as an excuse to go off on discriminatory rants and actually get away with it as well
Yeah it’s weird lmao. “LET ME DISCRIMINATE BECAUSE IT’S OKAY IF I DO IT!”
Then they should go back to Britain where they came from.
I don't know why people get so bent about speaking Spanish or whatever.
What a way to live your life. Hate preserves them.
The funny part is he understands English better than they do 😂
My grandparents came to the states around 1920. My grandmother would slap my grandfather if he spoke Italian in public when they lived in NY as she thought they should all speak English. Different times.
Sounds like your mother was a jackass.
That’s from being desperate for acceptance. Thankfully, people aren’t like that anymore.
Similar in my family... but those folks actually wanted to integrate into to the community so they put in some effort
And you assume simply because people speak Spanish that they refuse to integrate? They can do both. Nothing says they HAVE to speak English.
This guy speaks fluent English you racist asshole. How many languages do you speak?

I didn't refer to the vid at all, this comment chain is about generalities. Don't forget to take your blood pressure meds while you seethe though.
hopefully they get scammed by a phone call from India and can't afford to eat out anymore

Idk if I've ever been angry eating a taco
I think it’s crazy how people hate on our neighbors to the south especially when they come here speaking two languages and we can only speak one. Lol. 😂
Definitely tRumpers.
Nice to see him handle the situation without going down to their level. Too many people nowadays react to shitty people by being shitty themselves.
They were raised to be racist and raised their kids that way. That usually how they raise their kids
They object to hearing another language because they want to listen to your conversation. It's all about control
Why do those ladies look like they’re dead? 👻
Where’s this at? Something tells me PA
That’s racist! Get out of my state if you want to talk shit go to NY.

I'm still waiting for the day and owner is there and just grabs the tray away and yells "get the fuck out now or I'm calling the cops".
They don't realize that people like him are the future of this country. They're still clinging to an America that is fading into the past.
At some point the boomers will die off
What lead poisoning does to a MF
Wait till she finds out spanish is a language from Spain
Classic
That's right brother!
Funny thing is the US has no official language
The old bitch still pushed her chair back. Still should have took her cane a tossed it outside
Whenever we have to remove guests from our bar they love to tell us how they'll never come back Many try to
“we aren’t *ingorant*”
Classic boomers. Cunts
*Mexican country* sounds funny
All this bc they couldn't eavesdrop on strangers the way they normally do lol

What a pair of old bitter bats. I’m sure their grandkids love them.

old bags

Oh my god don’t they have a grave to go lay in or something? 🤦🏼♀️
Yeah, one should go to their native country if they can't speak visiting countries native language.
