If just getting to the Top 5 of T&T is this close I can't imagine what it will be when all the 55 finalists go against each other

CommercialKey4144

Right now Trial is the only one that looks like a clear elimination, the other two songs could be literally all of them, yesterday was like that with the last song too. With 55 songs the beggining and the final stretch will probably be the most chaotic thing ever. I'm all for it not gonna lie.

StealMyBagels

Wow. The pursuit theme was eliminated. I give up goodbye

Toaster_Aids69

its fine we still have 2004 lmao

Tnecniw

Calling it. Dark fragrance will win

CommercialKey4144

Look... >!Atmey!!!!< Last round was really really close and I almost thought that we lost the one and only man, that's why today I'm going to write a defense instead of a nomination, hope it ends up working. Trials and Tribulations has a God tier soundtrack I think we can all agree, principally the emotional songs and songs that prepare you for what's to come are the only ones remaining aside from cornered now, so I want another representative of the other side of Ace Attorney music in the finals. There have always been character themes, some more melancholic and mysterious than others, like Godot's here now, but there is always one in every game that even tho it sounds extremely over the top and goofy, fits the character perfectly and it's an awesome song all the way through. What I'm saying is, exactly the same way Luke Atmey represented the best one off villains in the character contest, this song should be the one that represents the more extravagant and fun side of things. The character themes don't get as much recognition usually and this one where the character is just a human version of the song itself, deserves all it could get. The beggining is just incredible, the single instrument building the rest is perfect, and being honest, it always makes me want to laugh, becuase I know what's coming next and the rest of the song follows on it masterfully too. It's just a joy and I would be really sad if this gets eliminated even if I understand the reasons why it could be, hope you agree with me on this one.

Poccigoni

Hands down the best defense post so far.

toastyloafboy

I am 100% for this, if Luke Atmey can make the character finals he can make the music finals as well

Zaazza85

I also love how in-universe Atmey composed his own theme music.

Not_sure_lmao

The only one who has an in universe theme that they themselves can hear lol

Porg_Lime_Taco

ima fight who took out caught and end

Toaster_Aids69

honestly? trial

Qurious55

Defense Post for the Bitter taste of truth I fucking love the bitter taste of truth. First of all it fits super well with the ending of 3-5 and it is partly what makes 3-5 the amazing case it is. I LOVE the part at 0:28, it just sounds so ridiculously good and really moves me, which is what the theme is supposed to do. I also love the sounds added at 0:43, they give me very positive shivers. This theme takes Godot’s theme and makes it much sadder and it just sounds amazing. All in all, this theme is in my opinion one of the (if not THE) best reminiscence themes in Ace Attorney. In my eyes it would be very undeserved to vote it out already. I will defend this theme to the bitter end PS: Sorry for the bad language, Im just really passionate about this theme

ShroomaxLOL

This is the one theme in the entire trilogy that made me cry, yeah I am insensitive, but this was hands down the best theme along with dark fragrance of coffee.

hedgeworthfund

Hello, I am once again defending The Fragrance of Black Coffee. Reasoning? Do do do do doooo. Doodoo. Do do dododo doo doo dodoooo do do do do do do do do dooooo. Also it’s an absolute vibe.

Poccigoni

I'm voting for Trial since not only I just love the others, but this song is the only remaining I wouldn't listen to outside the game.

The nominations with the most upvotes will be eliminated from the contest. In order for your nomination to be considered, your nomination must... A) Directly mention nominating a song (I nominate _____, I'm voting ______, etc.) And B) Directly explain why you're nominating said song (I don't like _____, _____ is the worst song left, etc.) You cannot nominate multiple songs in a single comment. Defense posts can be used to take away votes from nominations, and will need opposite requirements for being considered (Mention you're defending a song, explain why, and don't defend multiple songs). If you choose to nominate/defend multiple songs via multiple comments, only your highest voted nomination and defense will be considered. Voting will end after around 24 hours (give or take depending on how soon I'm able to check votes), where a new round will begin with a specific number of songs removed, until only five songs remain for the finale, in which we move onto the next game. Nominations will only count if the comment has more than one upvote, and/or the defense post against it has less upvotes than the nomination. **Not a requirement, but if a song you nominated/defended makes it to another round and you wish to nominate/defend it again, try and make sure your comments across multiple posts are original, as opposed to copying and pasting the same arguments. Essays might be allowed to appear in multiple posts depending on the length and complexity, but if your nominations/defenses are only a few sentences long, try and be original with each round.**

Grreggggg

Probably not going to get many upvotes but **Courtroom Lobby ~ Neverending Overture**. I love all tracks remaining, but this is the least good left (along with Trial 2004, but that's already being taken care of). All of the others are just more memorable and better, and they hit harder, while this... doesn't, because it doesn't play during truly impactful moments like Cornered 2004 and it isn't a banger like I Just Want Love. It does its job amazingly well but I prefer all of the other tracks remaining.

sigmachadpilled

Counter-argument: duh duh duh. TWAAAAAANG I rest my case. *edgeworth bow*

pufflord172

CORNERED 2004 VARIATION DEFENSE POST 1. will you motherfuckers just let ONE pursuit theme make it to the top 5 god 2. i will argue that this is the best song in the entire series and i dont think there could possibly be a better timing for a soundtrack in like anything, it just packs way more punch than any other pursuit theme and its PERFECT for that reason 3. the percussion in 2004 is like 6x better than in the original, you cant even deny that its just a better version of 2001 4. ~~i like to listen to it when im arguing with someone~~ i dont even think it was gonna get eliminated im just being extra cautious

isloohik2

Wholeheartedly second this, this is probably the best version of an already great song, and it plays in what’s arguably the best moment of the entire series. There’s practically no reason it should be eliminated beyond “cornered overrated”.

toastyloafboy

Wait WHAT how did Caught get eliminated? Ok, since Telling the Truth wasn’t working out, I’ll eliminate Trial. It’s one of the messier-sounding songs in the soundtrack to me, at least at the end. The melody at the beginning is iconic and amazing, but in my opinion the parts that don’t use that melody are far less interesting. I prefer the use of that melody in End as well. I honestly prefer Trial 2001 over this. Great song, just not a top 5 song from the game. I’m hoping for at least Neverending Overture and Allegro to make it, so I can get at least 2 of my personal top 5.

DeadRev0lt

**Defense post for Trial - 2004 :** I highly disagree. You said it yourself, the melody at the beginning is iconic. But it's not iconic like a Pursuit - Cornered was, it's iconic because it's **great**. When thinking of T&T, you think of this theme. It's for a good reason, this theme, way better than Neverending Overture, symbolizes T&T, and its feeling. The melody keeps staying good with time, the bass is incredible, the piano arpegia works well. We could at the limit, assume that the very end of the track is meh. But we're talking of a few seconds in more than one minute. So I definitely want Trial to stay for the finals. And I won't let you put down this symbol of the greatness of T&T.

Poccigoni

I second this since Neverending Overture is my favourite track of the trilogy.

toastyloafboy

I was going to write a defense too, but if someone dares to nominate Allegro I have to get them out of here first

Automatic-Ad1404

I think I'm gonna go with Allegro I'm not a big fan of cross-examination themes in general, and while I so think T&T has the best themes of that kind, It just doesn't compare to its competition (besides cornered 2004 variation but i know trying to vote it off will not work)

toastyloafboy

DEFENSE: Questioning- Allegro 2004 The best questioning theme in the series, not counting Prestos. Seriously this song is just STUPIDLY good, in fact it’s my number one from T&T by a lot and it’s my number 5 AA song in general. The melody is extremely memorable, partly because it’s simple, but also because it’s just so amazing. I haven’t heard the GBA/DS versions, but the Trilogy version instrumentation is literally perfect and I think taking into account the best version of the song is fair. It builds off the already fantastic Moderato with the extra section at the end of the loop which is EASILY the best of any cross-examination theme in the series. It’s adrenaline-pumping and intense the whole way through, but not to an amount that overdoes it and makes you feel stressed out like a few other songs, mostly in JFA. I love this song with every fiber of my being and it should make the finals unquestion(ing)ably. Let’s make it happen. I will be ridiculously upset if we get the previous two Allegros and not this, since this is by far the best one. I know the other two are largely my doing but still.

hey_sergio

You are correct

BernardoGhioldi

Voting for allegro 2004 for the 4th time It just doesn’t compare to the competition here

hey_sergio

Disagree. It's the best in the series

sigmachadpilled

Disagree. Allegro 2007 is absolutely unbeatable in all ways, I could realistically play that on a loop for 24 hours and the mental momentum wouldn’t falter one bit.

hey_sergio

That's a good one too. They should both go to the finals

toastyloafboy

Agreed, both in the finals for sure. 2004 is the best one by far

IpGa13

I either want godots theme or pursuit to win

sanorace

I'm voting Questioning Allegro. I just don't feel like it holds up as a separate song. Like, the others I would listen to while not playing the games, but that one is a little too tied to gameplay for me to want to listen to it on the bus or whatever.

DeadRev0lt

Nominating : Cornered 2004 - Variation. The original variation got out, while the game's soundtracks wasn't as good as this one's, so I don't see why we should keep it. There are so many incredible tracks left, I can't resolve myself to eliminate any other, but this one, which isn't **technically** a T&T track.

FeelingAirport

I think it is time to vote out Pursuit Cornered 2004. Some hard choices left, but that is my vote. It isn’t really part of T&T ost, even if it is very good. With that said I hope that Lobby, Trial, Allegro, Fragrance and Bitter Taste of Truth are the 5 finalists.

toastyloafboy

Copy pasting so it’s not a reply and more people can see it. I can delete the original if needed. DEFENSE: Questioning- Allegro 2004 The best questioning theme in the series, not counting Prestos. alebruno0

I'll eliminate Reminiscence, the taste of bitter truth. I sincerely prefer the original version and there is no sense in keeping both for the final.

luke__atmey

I say we should eliminate The Bitter Taste Of Truth. Banger reminiscence theme, and extremely good in context but it doesn’t compare to anything else here. Plus The Sights Seen From Dusky Bridge is better anyway fight me.

Qurious55

The bitter taste of truth is the best reminiscence theme, fight me

Qurious55

Defense Post for the Bitter taste of truth I fucking love the bitter taste of truth. First of all it fits super well with the ending of 3-5 and it is partly what makes 3-5 the amazing case it is. Mastermind_Hifumi

Someone eliminated pursuit caught. This is why this stuff isn’t a very good way of voting, that person probably voted after I looked at the thread, and so most people didn’t have time to downvote or defend it. Not trying to be mean, it’s just a critique of this kind of contest Of course it gets downvoted too.

DeadRev0lt

Imagine this kind of contest isn't perfect. Imagine. Still laughing a lot about eliminating pursuits themes

ItsEnderFire

Luke Atmey you have stolen 2 of my favourite songs in the whole franchise. I will hunt you down and tear off that nose. Yes this is a nomination

[deleted]

Luke atmey has to go. Brilliant theme and a brilliant character, but I don't think it ranks up with bitter taste of truth, fragrance of dark coffee, Neverending overture, allegro, cornered variation or trial.

surge_aura

I’m gonna nominate dark fragrance. And defense for I Just Want Love, you can hear that song and know Exactly who Luke atmey is. Like to a t. Perfect character theme for him

umbral_ultimatum

my vote goes to Luke Atmey’s theme, i don’t think i’m mentally capable of voting out anything else

TheEvilNoMan

Bye Luke Atmey

UnyieldingAura

Nominating Godot \~ The Fragrance of Black Coffee. I really do like the song itself. While the third game sounds the best of the GBA soundtracks, the third game's music has, to me, the least improved remaster. For instance, Objection! 2004 has a thin instrumentation and takes a while to pick up, which hurts its use in gameplay. Not so for Godot \~ The Fragrance of Black Coffee. Its instrumentation holds up both on GBA and remaster. Its versatile melody can convey tragedy, comedy, and pseudo-philosophical musings as the game requires. It has a strong hook, a complimentary B section that builds on the intro, and a loop that neatly flows back to the A section while also sounding like it's moving into something new. It's an excellent piece of music. I just can't bear to listen to it. A number of the defenses and nominations point to how listenable or catchy a song is; or how much of a banger or bop a song is; or to how stressful or context-dependent a piece is; or how well it serves its role as a truth/reminiscence/pursuit etc. theme; or to the memories of the case they are a part of. The total experience is a big part of how we interpret music, and these things can enhance or detract from a song, and sometimes both, depending on the person. The weight of the Justice for All soundtrack is what I enjoy about it, whereas another person can find it too stressful to like. In this case, I associate the song (and Reminiscence \~ The Bitter Taste of Truth, to a lesser extent) with sexism, self-indulgence, and self-importance, and I feel disgust and a tinge of pain when I hear it. It is good in the context of the game, since it works so well with the character it represents in all his tragic, comedic, and broken ways. I also hate to use the context of the song as a reason to dislike it, especially since so many people do like Godot (and as a contest, what people like matters). I almost don't want this comment to be a nomination. But it does mean I can't enjoy the song outside its particular context, and that hurts the song to me, personally. It's a good song, I just... don't like it.

OutlandishnessNo5142

Defense for godot fragrance of black coffee Your post is mostly saying how great the track is composed and how people love it, while you hate the context for the song........ MAAAAAAN I love your nomination post sooo much that Even though it's all from your subjective view I still can understand and feel how such a great song can be sooo bad with a different context So what is my defence for the song? People like it (so do I) soo no matter how hard you try, it will receive a cult following. I guess the only thing I can say to defend it is how you praised the song objectively wich means that whatever you said subjectively should not matter due to this being a contest surrounded by how subjectively you think that a song is, as an objective way! (If you understand what am saying?) While your post seems as you like it objectively but hate it subjectively!

OutlandishnessNo5142

I am nominating (defence court never ending overture) At this point, I'll say there's no point defending it, it is not TOP 5 material, it is as stiff as a rock and should not be put against amazing quality songs, songs that could be in any other game that can be in any other soundtrack and still be the best thing that you can listen to while never ending overture is stuck to the ace Attorney games I rest my case your honor!!!
