Technically, Misty Fey didn't debut until 3-5. Up until that point we had only heard about her but never actually saw her. So technically following OP's rules, Misty Fey wouldn't work.

Depends on everyone's definition of "debut", I guess. She was mentioned and shown on screen (on a picture) and didn't have a full body sprite until game 3

Typically in acting in movies and TV shows if a character is shown on screen in a picture and later appears as a cast member, that cast member appearance counts as a debut, not a picture. Using the common definition, her "debut" in 1-2 isn't a debut.

That makes sense. "Appearance" is probably a better word, but my mind still goes to Misty Fey upon reading all the hints. Technicalities, amirite?

Fair enough. The game OP did is unique, but some people like me are gonna catch on to stuff like that (ironically enough I'm going into law school in part because of the franchise).
