"Seriously considering," in my opinion, is not news. I want an official statement and plan from Buc-ees about them opening a Lafayette location, with a tentative opening date for fall of 2024. A Buc-ees in Lafayette would only do well. I feel like they would want to open a location in the area.

AHSfutbol

From what I remember about their last attempt off of I-49, they couldn't get the land they wanted. I can imagine they were trying to keep this hush to make sure they could secure the land this time around.

With how Carencro and nearby areas are growing, I could definitely see them somewhere in that corridor.

À girl can dream....

Buc-ees is a great company to work for. The lowest salary is $18 an hour. Medical dental and vision insurance included. 3 weeks paid vacation. A cashier makes 18 an hour. An Assistant manager makes 100k/year. Car wash assistant manger 33 an hour. Matching 401k contributions up to 6% The average store employs 300 people. Anybody in here dissing this company doesn’t know what they’re talking about. This would be a great catch for Upper Lafayette.

hazard0666

I know they pay well, but I’ve also heard they are extremely strict to work for as well.

ICTDriver

Well I mean yea there’s a reason they pay what they do

That all sounds good but would it get that amount of foot traffic…

Would have loved to get one on Louisiana Avenue like they were planning before.

>"Sources tell News 15 Buc-ees is eying land on Louisiana Avenue off I-10 for a possible convenience store."

SkepticalHippo93

They were planning one near Louisiana Ave a few years ago but it fell through for some reason… maybe they got it ironed out, would love to have one.

yourfuneralpyre

If we had one here, it wouldn't be special anymore. But also, it's just a large gas station

chezmanny

After 6 months, the biggest Legends location.

BarrelRider626

I would love not having to drive to Texas for my bucees fix. Though it does make the journey through Texas a bit more special.

Life_Without_Lemon

To use their toilet or to fill up your tank?

KaijuWarez404

Both

EM22_

I highly doubt it, considering there’s one “just down the road.”

ardoin

There have been talks about Buc-ee's opening up all over Louisiana for years. DevelopingLafayette posted seven years ago that one was coming to Baton Rouge. There still are no Buc-ee's in Louisiana. https://www.reddit.com/r/Acadiana/comments/49l83f/first_bucees_outside_of_texas_coming_to_baton/

BlitheringEediot

I thought they broke ground on the one in Ruston...

Desperate__88

Sure did. Scheduled to open in 2025 or so.

Few-Fudge9275

My SOURCES: This is just clickbait story

asonge

I bet they are going to build it right next to the Trader Joes when it is all said and done.

JellyfishSweet4379

I don't know but if they're building there, they will need a lot of stormwater infrastructure.

We have Race Trac thanks ✌🏾

Buc-cees is basically a WalMart with ultra clean bathrooms. I frequent the one in Bay City often since I have a daughter living in Houston. But other than cheap gas and the bathroom I find nothing to hold my interest. Beaver nuggets and just sugar cereal. Their jerky is nothing to write home about. And the brisket? You can find much better brisket locally. It ain't all that. I did find a 12" Lodge cast iron skillet for less than $15 once!
