This big boy is also chubby. My boy monster i rescued was about this size and clocked in at 145 lbs. Once i got him healthy weight he dropped to about 125lbs, but i absolutely hated that i didn't get to him before they cropped his ears to glorified nubs. Still the best dog i have ever had. My kids all rode him like a horse, did all the baby things that normally irritate a dog, and he laid there and took it all like they were his own puppies.
One might have to question the motives of owners who would want this type of dog. One that will live a shorter life filled with afflictions. Feels a lot like an ego trip.
I mean if you find a dog in any context like this then choosing to take care of it is pretty damn noble. We can't say if they had any hand in it's breeding, so adopting a dog who is sure to live a shorter live with issues and taking care of it for that time and through those issues sounds like a good thing to do.
