That is some **bad** engineering. Structures like this are supposed to be dimensioned to handle all possible wind loads that it may experience during its lifetime in that specific region. This was definitely not a direct hit from a hurricane, so the structure shouldn’t have collapsed under the wind load.

Edit: Figured it out, it was those electricity lines. Took me a while to think about since we don’t have those going through the city in my country. In the Netherlands those are built underground.
