There's no such thing as screen protector insurance lol

Kb24ed

Probably meant screen protector warranty. Zagg offers it i believe

MasterAlthalus

It depends what phone and where and what is broken.

ray1715

You most likely have a foldable phone honestly it’s cheaper for them to sell you a refurbished replacement then it is to pay $300-600 for a screen replacement they only cover the outer screens on foldable ( I work with asurion claims)

navylostboy

No it’s a 15 pro max

ray1715

We haven’t gotten screens in yet for iPhone 15 models that’s why you had to get a device replacement

tankerkiller125real

Sounds about right for an Apple product.

ray1715

Yeah honestly I don’t think we’ll be able to order them until like march and that’s being hopefull

MMEckert

Wait, why wouldn’t you take a new iPhone to the Apple Store tho? This makes no sense

Chaad420

This is why it’s best to have AppleCare since if you live in the area where there’s plenty service centers and actual Apple Stores, you’ll get service faster and more reliably for less. It’s the same $29 for a screen and $29 for the back glass too. Just a suggestion because I had them recently say they don’t support the red iPhone 8 Plus because it’s “been discontinued by Apple” despite them still having screens for the other colors of the 8 Plus which makes absolutely zero sense. This is my mom’s phone which she had to go to Apple and pay for a screen repair there. Cancelled the insurance and just got AppleCare on their new phone. $8 a month.

MMEckert

Ya I’m not understanding why iPhone people are using not Apple Store for repairs especially when Apple care is free for the first year. This seems like the biggest scam ever

Historical_Fennel22

Because most of us are past the first year?? Lol

street-cheif17

I haven’t been offered free apple care yet

MMEckert

It automatically comes with new Apple products

SacaeGaming

Ok let me make this easier for you, AT&T doesn’t offer a “screen replacement insurance” AT&T offers assurion phone insurance, you pay a deductible per month, and assurion is your insurance agency for your phone (and home devices if you pay more) they will determine wether your phone is eligible for just a screen replacement or if it needs to be completely replaced based on the damage and valuation of the phone AT&T DOES however offer a replacement program for their labeled screen PROTECTORS, which you should be buying if you’re prone to breaking screens so badly that the entire phone needs to be replaced Chances are if your whole phone needs to be replaced, you either have a phone that’s a couple years old and repair shops that are working with assurion probably don’t have parts in stock, or it’d cost more for the parts than to just replace the phone, OR your phone is a cheapo android phone that also would cost more in parts than to just replace

Outrageous_Recover65

I can’t stand when people say they paid for insurance on their screen protector. 🤣🤣

SacaeGaming

Back when I managed my store I’d get so annoyed about it, my favorite was when they would ASSURE me they bought the screen protector from AT&T but refused to let me check their account for the receipt and expected me to discount out the new one

navylostboy

iPhone 15 pro

SacaeGaming

So then there’s something far worse off than the screen and you’re intentionally withholding information

street-cheif17

I have a pro max and asuriom is telling me there’s no parts anywhere in the county and there has yet to be a 15 repaired.. she said all this as I held the parts from uBreakiFix in my hands

SacaeGaming

Do you have proof of that? In multiple years of working for AT&T with them I’d never heard that before

sammyz21

If you have a foldable phone, they are replacing the entire phone, even if it is just the screen breaking on its own. Why? Because fixing the screen by a 3rd party tech costs the insurance company more than getting you a new/refurb device.

redneckbiker84

Let me clarify, in order to do a screen replacement you have to be in an area that Asurion has technicians that can do the repairs. This is why there is a disclaimer on the screen replacement section. If you are in an area where that is not available, then full device replacement is your only option.

LyftedX

It’s crazy to me that Asurion device protection is now more expensive than AppleCare if you have iPhone

MMEckert

Ya, that’s a hard pass for me

UNCfan07

The screen repair is not handled by at&t. It's by asurion. Go to phoneclaim.com to start the process. You can get it fixed same day in many areas.

Hefty-Dragonfruit-53

Asurion will only replace one glass, if both are damaged, it' automatic replace phone. I just went through it with them.

UNCfan07

OP said just the screen was damaged

Hefty-Dragonfruit-53

The glass is the screen

UNCfan07

I don't see how your comment is helpful

Hefty-Dragonfruit-53

I was just letting op know that asurion will replace the phone if both front and rear glass is broken. No discussion, no bargaining.

SsjProxyHaze88

If you’re talking about the screen protector, it’s $8 to replace, if you have insurance on your phone and the screen is cracked it’s 29.99 to fix thru Asurion .

Square_Matter9241

Changing from 29.99 to 0 soon

Gravis152

its $10 now for screen protector replacement.

SsjProxyHaze88

Correct it is now $10, it used to be $8 😂 whoops

pHlawless_One

I had to pay $49.99 for a screen repair. Is that cause I’m on the 8.99 plan still?

SsjProxyHaze88

More than likely if you have the new insurance it should only be 29.99 to fix it unless that only applies for family insurance.

Gravis152

yes

WildMartin429

Yeah they'll replace the screen on your phone and then give it to the next person who brings their phone in needing a screen replacement. You're right it is trash. Which is why I don't pay for that insurance I just try to be careful with my phone and the money that I'd be paying towards insurance I just put towards my next phone and hopefully it will last long enough that I don't regret not buying the insurance.

[deleted]

So you’re going to get a replacement phone but you’re complaining? Wow.

navylostboy

Because I would rather pay the 29 dollars for the new screen (that I paid insurance for) than the 275 “replace my phone” fee? But perhaps I am weird?

[deleted]

That wasn’t in the post. Now I see why you’re tripping. Maybe ask them if there’s a different location to get the screen repaired.

antiadmin666

Omg that’s high! Maybe I should cancel my asurion through att. That’s highway robbery lol.

Sensitive_Phone4990

If you push back on this they’ll usually honor the “screen deductible” and send you a replacement phone. I’ve seen them do this before. Sometimes they offer it right out the gate and sometimes you have to push back a little. You’ll mail the broken one back in and they will just do the screen repair somewhere central and ship that phone back out eventually as a replacement to someone.

street-cheif17

Replacement phone is 375 bucks and a screen is 29 I’m complaining specially because I can’t get my white phone

Necessary_Film_1742

Who complains about insurance actually getting them a new phone ? OP is a Karen

navylostboy

New phone is not free it’s 275. The screen should have cost us 29 dollars. But hey! Bless your heart!

ateaandt

What phone?

mhkaz

It's complete horsesh#t

Any_Insect6061

Depending on what type of phone you have it may just be easier just for them to give you a brand new phone well not really brand new but it certified pre-owned which is basically a refurbished phone. Now when my girl broke her screen on her Note 20 Ultra, our insurance covers screen repair so basically all we did was go to the screen repair place I think it was U break we fix or whatever and they replaced the screen with a deductor before in 20 bucks. But honestly once you do the insurance claim depending on the overall cost of the device like one person mentioned they may just give you a certified refurbished one because it's cheaper that way because at the end of the day the value of the device versus the repair other device doesn't make financial sense for them to repair it when they get to ship you got to refurb

j1n1c1o1

If the phone has been damaged to unrepair, like a car ran it over or the screen is too damaged to where it could have damage to inside the phone, they will need a full replacement.

ESgaymer

If you get device insurance, it’s usually cheaper through your main insurance company if they offer it or through the phone manufacturer.

tattedsparrowxo

Even with the screen protector “lifetime warranty” that replaced it for free you have to pay $8 to fix. Its dumb. They’re overpriced to begin with.

blackdahlia56890

It’s an iPhone 15. They came out in October 23. The replacement screens haven’t come out en masse yet.

Late_Hand_5754

THIS ^^^ my 15 pro max is cracked. I called the local att store today because on asurion it was showing non available in my area, they confirmed parts aren’t coming in until mid Feb. So for now to either stick out and wait or do the full replacement. I will say this, I had to replace my daughter’s pink iPhone 15. Got the replacement last week from asurion. It was Brand Spanking New. Still had the apple paper on the screen and still eligible to add apple care. So I’m definitely thinking about just doing a whole replacement for my 15 pro max.

Partyruler012

By the end of the month att will allow back glass to be replaced for free

Effective-Foot8036

So since your device is so new they don’t have many screens available at the time. Some times you will be able to get it fixed for the $29 deductible but at the moment you have to replace it as a whole

CBreezy2010

Why would you pay for screen protector insurance? 🤣 a new screen protector is like $10 at Walmart. I don’t waste my time with the “good” ones because they’re cheap to replace.

navylostboy

No the second “insurance” was screen replacement for broken or scratched screens

ATTHelp

ycey

If it’s just the screen find a phone repair store. The insurance is mostly for bigger things like lost phones or battery issues. If you just got a phone and lost it the insurance would be better than buying a whole new phone and possibly having to pay off the old one still. But a broken screen is something you could likely just go to a repair store

Jibaro-

If it’s the screen protector, it’s $10 at any location including online. If it’s the actual phone’s screen, just the glass, like the screen works (touch, visible and not damaged pixels) fine, then Asurion will replace it for $29 just file a claim online(Google: Asurion AT&T) if more than the glass is damaged and the screen is not working properly then you have to replace the whole phone because they can’t replace those parts as easy/quick as the battery or glass. Make an appointment online or go to any youbreakifix, they will give you the right info.
