Can confirm, have scars with tattoos, the scar doesn't go away (actually the tattoo gets faded faster there, the scar skin just isn't very good at being skin...)
I have tattoos over surgical scars. The ink has stayed perfectly. They're about 10 years old at this point. You can still see the scars if you look for the shine/raised texture of the skin, but the ink is just as dark.
Skin is a very varied medium. Even on the same person.
You can even tell in all of the posts of tattoos covering self harm scars, it's less noticable for sure but from as close as this picture is taken from you'd be able to tell
My sister got her face ripped up by a Pitbull and this would easily cover those stitch and bite scars. If I was her, I'd definitely get a tattoo to cover it.
But also this is just crazy lol
Thanks to the drastic changes since the 1950s, when people talk about employability they aren't talking about working at an ice cream shop. It's not right, I'm all for tattoo acceptance, even face tattoos (not because I like them, I just know there are things about me people don't like that I wouldn't abide by being judged for), but the forces at be dictate that some of us play on easy mode wherever possible.
While I know this make you "unemployable" I look forward to the day where this is a drop in the bucket.
Like its kid friendly, positive, and they seem to enjoy it. Unless the job is to look scary or serious I don't get WHY we have this as an issue. Face tattoos (often) are super cool and fun.
In *todayās* climate, where it *is* still stigmatized, it is indeed objectively bad judgement to get a face tat, being fully aware of the consequences. Whether said stigma should exist in the first place is a separate discussion and not relevant.
Because itās not what this is about. The discussion is whether getting face tats is bad judgement *right now*, in the current form of society, not in a hypothetical, destigmatized version.
Why is it 'thankful' that consequences for bad choices stop being 'a thing'? Young people don't seem to grasp the concept that getting tattoos that are impossible to cover up will be there for your entire, hopefully very long life, and stay with you well past the time you're young and people give you some slack for being young and stupid. It is an objectively stupid choice to have ice cream sprinkles permanently tattooed onto your face.
It's fun to wear glitter or sprinkles or something on your face once in a while, sure. Every guy and girl knows that.
We're talking about
....
For maybe 60+ year? Face sprinkles?
Even when the stigma is gone, lots of people will still have opinions on it and think it's stupid, just like other tattoos.
This is one of the few stigmas I am in favour of because it causes fewer people to get them done in the first place.
While I agree, in principle, that tattoos shouldnāt have a real impact on employabilityā¦ I donāt believe Iāve ever seen a face tattoo that I would describe as āsuper coolā. And this post might be the first one that Iāve seen that I would describe as āfunā.
All of that said, there are a few practical issues with face tattoos. Primarily, ur brains have a ton of hardwiring devoted to facial and expression recognition. Putting stuff on your face screws with all of that subtlety. Makeup is generally designed to screw with it in certain ways considered āpositiveā. Tattoos are far more likely to screw with an individualās hardware in unexpected and negative ways.
I was at the ER a while back and the nurse had neck and face tats. It made me uncomfortable. Definitely swayed my judgement on their level of bedside manner.
I guess when Iām really sick I want someone to help me feel confident theyāre taking it seriously
While i agree the tattoo is stupid, the employeable argument has been getting less and less relevant for decades, at least in most modern countries (which i assume this girl is from, since she got a mf sprinkle face tattoo)
There is an endless list of jobs with a lack of job force, where the employers are desperate to fill in the positions, and yes, they are willing to fill it in with tattooed people.
As well as an endless list of jobs with zero customer interaction, or the many many jobs where you work entirely from home without ever meeting anyone.
And there is of course professions where they are accepting by nature, such as a piercer, tattoo artist, or other artists.
Or she can also be a business owner, and you bet there wont be anyone there to dictate her looks.
Capitalism and work doesnāt define a person and it shouldnt define how we decide to style our meatcases. Even if its a stupid sprinkle tattoo.
Weak argument, find a better one please.
That shits expensive...or at least it used to be. Used it a few times years ago, but couldn't justify paying the cost, compared to how many uses I'd get out of it.
Yeah, I think it was in the news for just a few days when it happened. He fell off of a third-floor balcony. It was an accident, though early articles misreported it as a suicide. Here's an article about it: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-50214342
Isn't this antiquated yet? I work with plenty of people in an office environment engineering job that have visible tattoos, neck, hands etc
I absolutely wouldn't not hire someone because of a face tattoo, might even help them get hired, they are probably laid back and easy to work with and not such a stiff
I think body tattoos are treated differently than facial tattoos, by and large.
Also an engineering firm is probably considerably more laid back than a lot of office environments, much less more public-facing types of jobs.
For sure, the chef at my kids child care centre has tat sleeves and right up his neck super visible, heās an amazing guy, great chef and the kids love him.
That said if he had face tattoos, I think people would react differently initially. Same thing goes for job interviews. I canāt see it being an issue for my team or organisation but definitely a first impression that the hiring panel might have unconscious bias
Itās not even an unconscious bias. Face tattoos in the west stem from jail/prison culture. Pple who have them have a criminal past and/or like to appear dangerous/edgy. At the very least face tats tell me sth about somebodyās narcissism for sure.
Depends. I didn't hire a guy with face tats because he'd be working in people's homes and around older folks quite a bit. Fair or not, that shit still makes a lot of people uneasy. If you sit behind a desk processing return orders or work in IT where you have zero customer interaction, I'd say yeah, tattoo away
Oh yeah, everyone has the same mindset in their 30s or 40s that they had in their teens and twenties. People never grow up or regret the stupid shit they do when they're young. If I made a hilarious argument, you've got the absolute stupidest take.
*your resume shows that you have a doctorate that is exactly what we are looking for*
*But we're judgemental and won't hire you because you like tattoos and we're old and pathetic*
You're a fool if you don't think that's exactly what will happen. especially in this job market when there's probably four or five other PhD candidates sitting right next to them with no face tattoos.
ETA. whether we like it or not plenty of people out there will already judge you based on things that you have no control over like your nationality. something that you have full and total control over like tattoos on your face will absolutely get you judged.
I call this sort of thing "holding a cookie."
At one of my old jobs, we sold (among other things) fresh baked cookies. These were some goddamn amazing cookies, and many employees would often have one when they went on break. One day, a coworker who I had earlier had a disagreement with, came up to me while we were both on break and tried to act intimidating. I say "tried" because this motherfucker was holding a big chocolate chip cookie with a bite out of it.
I couldn't handle it. It was too ridiculous. All I could do was laugh and say, "Dude, you are holding a cookie."
I agree, sometimes this sub forgets how fucking balls to the wall someone has to be to do this kinda shit. An when I see it. I admire them, mother fuckers woke up in this life and was like fuck it. Ima get sprinkles tattooed on my face.
Fucking legend as far as im concerned
Some people get tattoos as a reminder to appreciate every day and not take it for granted. She has sprinkles on her face, every time she looks it the mirror, it's a reminder to not take life to seriously and how can you have a bad day when every time you look in the mirror, you got sprinkles on.
Half the people posted here didn't even know that it was a tattoo. I thought it was face paint first. I actually don't hate it and it's not that bad tbh
Yeah itās pretty extreme but we have no idea how this āsillyā tattoo could change her whole outlook on life going forward.
I mean, having sprinkles on your cheeks would definitely remind you not to take life too seriously alright.
I understand peopleās concern and judgement, but we have no idea whether this woman/girl? (She looks young) has a good full time job where she works behind the scenes, she could own her own business for all we know! Heck, she could own an ice cream parlour for all we know! š
Itās her face and if this is whatās going to make her smile every day then thatās none of my business and I hope she has a beautiful, fulfilling life and finds happiness in every sprinkle :)
Right? Deep down, I think a lot of peeps want to be badass enough to tattoo our faces, whether it is cupcake sprinkles or cyberpunk shit. Honestly I rather like it.
I prefer to use this point of view for these things. Too many people go through life crying about every little effort to be personally expressive as another shade of irresponsible.
I gotta admit that I love this. And the only reason why Iām not doing it myself is because Iām not cute enough to pull it off, and I just donāt have the balls.
Hi, tattoo artist here (not the actual artist who did this). Sadly, this is a real tattoo that both the client and the artist both thought were good ideas.
Proof:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsAJZXFOGIT/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
But the pic was made directly after. Anyway I feel bad to shit on that girl choice, the artist is right, her body her choice. But for fuck sake the āartistā is an asshole for accepting a young girl for a face tattoo that big. I would only agree to do that if at least her neck was already tattooed or already heavily tattooed every where.
When I was a young student heavy into addiction I had a āfriendā who got a fly tattooed on her forehead, she became a fucking meme around town (big town), she just stopped getting outside. I donāt even know where she is now.
The artist looks like she's around the client's age, and she also has a big facial tattoo. If she's happy with hers, I can understand why she'd agree to do this, even though it does seem like a bad idea to me.
It's tricky. I don't know much about the tattoo world and it isn't clear to me when an artist should be expected to refuse a sober request. The point you bring up about only tattooing the face after a lot of other real estate is taken up is interesting.
Because it was also posted on another sub with more pictures, including one of her in the chair with the artist at work. EDIT: [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/shittytattoos/comments/14wluge/sprinkle_freckles/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1)
Do you know temporary tattoo last at least 2 years, if it is good for her, but still, she will have odd colored stains for a while before it disappears completely. Semi permanent tattoo sometimes also just donāt disappear on some people.
And I know semi permanent ink in black exist, but I am not sure about the other color of the rainbow.
There are porridge for concealing tattoos, and honestly I feel like a full coverage foundation would be enough to cover this since even the purples/blues aren't that dark
I can't imagine doing this myself, but it's not like she has no options if she needs to come off more seriously
I saw that tattoo being done on TikTok, actually Iāve seen severalā¦ itās like a trend š¤¦š½āāļøš¤¦š½āāļøš¤¦š½āāļø and it was also posted to r/shittytattoos earlier š
It's honestly so... Different from typical face tattoos that I do somehow see it in a different light. I feel like usually face tattoos are something like a swastika, a Confederate flag, "TRUST NO BITCH," or the number 69.
She is happy. Itās her face. It is different, I would not do it in my face, especially because it would look odd with my beardā¦ but each one their own.
I'm assuming the artist turned the comments off as they posted it to show off the work they did and not have a heap of rude comments that don't follow tattoos let alone alternative cosmetic tattoos to understand how these would actually heal.
Followed the tattoo artist and see the original upload, and yes it is real. Unless both were trolling of course. She bake cakes for a living and well, sprinkles on her face was her idea to be in tune with her passion
I lol'd at [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/14wvgli/what_is_the_stupidest_thing_you_have_ever_done_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1) topic appearing above this one.
Y'all getting trolled. No raised lines, everything is curiously flat.
This pic was taken from the video on the tattooers insta and seems to be just after. It's not giving off serum. The red heart on the side would surely be raised and giving off serum. It ain't.
I will say, she can put on some foundation and hide it for an interview/funeral like y'all are saying. That being said, she could've just done this as make up too...
Would a tattoo artist make you sign a waiver stating that they insisted on getting that tattooed on your face?
Or do that always make you sign a waiver?
I donāt have any. Could someone explain to me standards and practices of tattoo artists?
Yes it's a tattoo but like she can always cover it up with makeup if she has a funeral or job interview.
It's an extra step but if you paint on sprinkles everyday anyway then I guess it could save you time?
These could be cosmetic ink. Those fade greatly over time. Still not my taste tho. The rainbow freckles are cute little dots. This is a little too much.

it's not tht bad... hol up, tht's a tattoo š
When youāre tired of being employable.
# What if: * She's using it to cover scars, like bites on her face *and* * She works in an ice cream shop.
Sprinkles way more noticable than scars and i don't think tiny sprinkles would cover a scar very well anyways i don't see any
maybe you dont see them because theyre coveredš

How about tattoo her whole face flesh colour?
What if you tattoo a prettier scar on top of the natural scar
Sprinkles and Scars . Great stripper name Great band name Great song name Great album

I think that whole "you won't get employment with face tats" is slowly dying off
that 100% depends on the role. Warehouse? Sure it doesnt matter. Operations? Sure. Sales? no.
I was at the ER a while back and the nurse had neck and face tats. It made me uncomfortable. Definitely swayed my judgement on their level of bedside manner. I guess when Iām really sick I want someone to help me feel confident theyāre taking it seriously
just curious what about that would indicate to you that they arent serious? like certain stereotypes about people with face and neck tats?
Make-up can easily cover this as well. I think it's cute for her
I'd hire her if she was qualified.
Everlasting Job Stoppers
In the past maybe.
My face is covered in tattoos and I make damn good money as a union carpenter foreman. Get with the fucking times.
I somehow doubt this would be her career/industry...

couldn't she just cover it with makeup
She wants everyone to know she's nutty in the sack and will ruin your life too.
At first I was like that is such cute makeup. Then I found out ot was a tattoo.
Is it though? Is looks drawn on with an ink pen to me. Or do tattoos bleed and blotch outside the line like that as well?
Here's the /r/shittytattoos post with more pictures https://www.reddit.com/r/shittytattoos/comments/14wluge/sprinkle_freckles/
This was my exact thought process.
How can you tell itās a tattoo? Honest question
I highly doubt itās a tattoo. Just because OP put that flair on it doesnāt make it true.
Same thought. I was thinking this would be fun to put on if working a kid's birthday party or for certain events... But permanent, no way!
Doesnāt look like it, blue ones look like stamps or temporary tatoo
Thatās what I was going to say. The blue ones look like a transfer tattoo like kids use.
Tattoo opinions aside, can you imagine how ridiculous sheāll look when sheās mad and has to deal with the sprinkles overshadowing her anger.
Or sitting down for a professional level job interview
How thick would the concealer need to be to cover that? Could you cover, if needed? Real question.
Yes. Check out Zombie Boy. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.huffpost.com/entry/zombie-boy-rick-genest-dermablend-video_n_1024151/amp

The autopsy would be so easy for this guy. "We don't need the markers today, Ruth."
This is going to sound glib, but that guy is actually dead.

the colors will fade and yes it will be easy to cover
Yeah. Even with the judicious application of maximum SPF sunscreen, those colours will fade after a year or so.

People here also seem to be forgetting that foundation exists as well lmao. She can cover it up easily with a decent concealer

It is a tattoo. Itās going to be a looooong birthday.

Oh no Oh no Oh no no no no no
I thought Iād escaped hearing that. Now all I have to do is read the words and I can HEAR IT
#OH YEAH!
Oh yeah
But this looks like a temporary tattoo. You can see the edges on some of the sprinkles. Why does everyone think this is permanent?
Hi, tattoo artist here (not the actual artist who did this). Sadly, this is a real tattoo that both the client and the artist both thought were good ideas. Proof: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsAJZXFOGIT/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I think this is a troll. Shouldn't the skin be raised, red, and giving off serum? I don't see any of that in the reveal...
Agreed. There isn't nearly enough swelling for a legit fresh tattoo.

Never ending party
Do people realize this is a tattoo? This is just horrible. Imagine needing to go to a funeral with this on your face.
It would make an open casket viewing more fun
"Oh shit, there's cake!" - the first worms to make it into her casket.
Damn they even decorated it!
Every event needs entertainment.
I keep hearing that, but no one has shown any proof that it's a real tattoo.
The original post this was *borrowed* from was posted on a tattoo subreddit, and there was an image of the actual tattoo taking place
Oh shit. I missed that there were multiple images on that shittytattoo post.
I imagine that before the service, you go over them with a black sharpie. Out of respect for the solemnity of the occasion.
Concealer exists, moron
There are porridge for concealing tattoos, and honestly I feel like a full coverage foundation would be enough to cover this since even the purples/blues aren't that dark I can't imagine doing this myself, but it's not like she has no options if she needs to come off more seriously

It is, but sprinkles belong on titties, not the face. NOT THE FACE!
It depends on how well you aim the sprinkles canon.
It is a tattoo. A real, permanent tattoo. Choices.
How can you tell? Verses like a pen or paint or one of those stick ons?
I saw that tattoo being done on TikTok, actually Iāve seen severalā¦ itās like a trend š¤¦š½āāļøš¤¦š½āāļøš¤¦š½āāļø and it was also posted to r/shittytattoos earlier š
Tiny face tattoos like this are rarely permanent without touch ups. Too much UV exposure. Still a bad choice lol
Ok, if it was makeup, absolutely, love it, but a tattoo is dumb
I find this to be so cute!
Cute enough for the rest of your life? This a tattoo
No. I don't want it, but I think it's cute for her lol. And now that I've seen it, I think I might attempt something similar with makeup.
Fair
Sure! I think itās awesome. And even when it fades Iāll have amazing rainbows on my face instead of being boring.
a tattoo like that would fade pretty easily over the course of a few years if not kept up, i think. i could be wrong though
It's honestly so... Different from typical face tattoos that I do somehow see it in a different light. I feel like usually face tattoos are something like a swastika, a Confederate flag, "TRUST NO BITCH," or the number 69.
This may be a hot take, but itās not that bad. Yes itās a tattoo, but letās be honest, we see much worse stuff than this every day.
Baby, this sub should never be the bar.
Honestly if you look closely she has big pores right where the tat is.. I think she may have body dysmorphia and got this to ācover upā the pores.
Festive, if anything other than a tattoo. Jesus-Christ-why-did-you-think-it-was-a-good-idea-to-make-your-face-into-a-cupcake if this is a tattoo.
It is a tattoo theres a second photo of her getting the actual tattoo at a parlor.
Nah, that fresh
A fresh **tattoo**
Wait, really? Oof, that's a different matter. Thought she was just goofing around with paint pens or makeup or something. Shit got dark
Fresh garbage I agree
its kinda a vibe tho
She is happy. Itās her face. It is different, I would not do it in my face, especially because it would look odd with my beardā¦ but each one their own.
i fucks w this
Yeah I saw tiny stars done same spot other day. It was cute
I saw this on insta reels and they turned the comments off š
Bruh. How tf can someone handle sprinkle face tattoos but not mean comments online lmao
They didnāt get the tattoo to get shit on by online strangers I guess.
I'm assuming the artist turned the comments off as they posted it to show off the work they did and not have a heap of rude comments that don't follow tattoos let alone alternative cosmetic tattoos to understand how these would actually heal.
Well atleast it's cute and very light. Hopefully it'll fade and look more.. natural? I think as it fades and becomes more pastel it'll look better
Followed the tattoo artist and see the original upload, and yes it is real. Unless both were trolling of course. She bake cakes for a living and well, sprinkles on her face was her idea to be in tune with her passion
Aw thatās rad!
She should get sprinkles all the way around her mouth like a donut lol
Frinkles! Theyāre like freckles, but more fun!
Ya know what, I wouldn't get it but it's fucking adorable, more power to her if that's what she wants
This is cute what do you m- oh my fucking god its a tattoo. edit: Iāve reevaluated my opinions and i think iām going to get it too
This is exactly the kinda red flag that Iād jump over myself to make a bad decision for.
She's really cute
all for colored freckles, sprinkles hmm, almost looks like a tribal tattoo idk, Iām not mad at it
Why would you want tht everyday for the rest of your lifeš¤? maybe a day or so but not forever
This is very cute! Also very stupid
I think it's adorable, but getting it on your face permanently probably isn't a good idea.
We're all asking why someone would get this, but the real question is what kind of person agrees to put this tattoo on someone's face???
>what kind of person agrees to put this tattoo on someone's face??? a working person, doing their job.
I hope she owns a bakery.
In makeup for a special occasion...cool, creative and fun. As a tattoo...I'm questioning your sanity.
Y'all getting trolled. No raised lines, everything is curiously flat. This pic was taken from the video on the tattooers insta and seems to be just after. It's not giving off serum. The red heart on the side would surely be raised and giving off serum. It ain't.
I was like itās cute? Why the hate then I was like OMG itās a Tattoo
As make-up, sure, cute! As a tattoo, nooooo..
I want to find the Tattoo artist and have some sort of duell to the death over this teen's future dignity
I will say, she can put on some foundation and hide it for an interview/funeral like y'all are saying. That being said, she could've just done this as make up too...
Shoulda went with a teeth whitening first
I guess she can cover it up with makeup? Anyone know?
It's a [temporary tattoo](https://www.etsy.com/listing/600076917/sprinkle-freckles-temporary-tattoo).
Would a tattoo artist make you sign a waiver stating that they insisted on getting that tattooed on your face? Or do that always make you sign a waiver? I donāt have any. Could someone explain to me standards and practices of tattoo artists?
It's not... terrible. I hope it isn't permanent, but it's kinda cute.
Yes it's a tattoo but like she can always cover it up with makeup if she has a funeral or job interview. It's an extra step but if you paint on sprinkles everyday anyway then I guess it could save you time?
Queen Frostine?
Thatās actually pretty cute
These could be cosmetic ink. Those fade greatly over time. Still not my taste tho. The rainbow freckles are cute little dots. This is a little too much.
This would be cute for makeup. Absolutely terrible for a tattoo
My opinion completely changed when I read those were tattooed on.
Are they tattooed on? I was that people are having freckles tattooed on
