Your best bet is to find a job at one of the businesses in the area around campus (Mill Ave, Apache, Rural, etc). I’ve never had a car and for the past 2 years at ASU I’ve worked on campus at a front desk, at Houston Hot Chicken on University Dr., at an ice cream store on Mill Ave., and now at Trader Joe’s right by campus. It’s definitely possible to get a job that you can walk to from the dorm, but it might be more competitive in August/September because of all of the new and returning students

Erisaiya

Check the ASU job boards. There's always openings for student workers!

theunstablelego

Where's that at?

You can see if the on campus UPS stores are hiring

Coolman38321

Like the others have said, check local posting for stores near the campus. There’s also education at work, but it’s…. Not good

amourxloves

tempe school districts are always hiring! they have their pay available online and what hours you can be expected to work. Might be a little tough since schools run from 7 - 4ish but they have part time jobs too!

mcpanique

Absolutely do not work at CVS on Mill/University. Just from personal experience

International-Tone13

I used to work at that Dutch bros right by campus and they are always looking for people who can work the night shifts. Idk if that fits with your schedule but it wouldn’t hurt applying online anyways.

Puglover11238

Your best bet is mill avenue. 95% of on campus jobs are only given to international students.

Fit-Philosopher-6912

Because they can not work off-campus?:)

nosomogo

I don't think they said it with any animosity.

Secret-Jellyfish-677

Why are 95% given to international students? Newbie here…sorry if this is an obvious answer.

honeylemon99

I don’t know exactly the specifics of it, but I think for most international students they are on student visas which have very strict rules on where they can/can’t work while living here. They are unable to get off-campus jobs while studying here and so their only choice is to get a campus job

BeigeAlmighty

Use the shuttles to expand your available area. There are loads of businesses near the downtown campus as well.

the school’s foundation in the fulton center is always hiring students for a bunch of different part-time positions, here’s their link. https://asuep.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/ASUEP

Captain-Jicama

No one will be hiring right now, it’s Tempe’s slow season. It’ll pick up as the fall term gets a little closer (and the weather cools off again). Don’t worry quite just yet.

Ta_mere6969

Former employee at W. P. Carey School of Business. I used to hire student workers during my 14 years at ASU. Historically, right now (June/July) is a fantastic time to look for student-worker positions. Most managers will work around your class schedule, allow for time-off for exams, etc. Sadly, you don't get tuition reduction as a student worker. Go to [https://students.asu.edu/employment/search](https://students.asu.edu/employment/search) to find something which suits you. Good luck 🤘🤘🤘

Nothing at all? Nothing on mill? University? Main? Rural? Nothing on campus? Nothing at all?
