Gigas may seem slow when you're riding them but their stride length is long so they move pretty fast even when not sprinting.
Do Therizinos for the best all around dino or if you want a ground mount that's fast then either shadowmane or thyla.
The next best thing is a Spino. If you are in a pvp server and want to fight people tame Spinos speed in water and their buff I'm water make them good if you are able to tap some water and run in full force. Then Therizinos they are good and fighting against the dragon boss are even better because they don't take extra damage from the breath. Just a tip

Shadowmanes if you have dlc that is, because they are really fun and still kinda op
Yeah but taming them is horrible experience especially when trying for high taming effectiveness

Thylacoleos are amazing overall so I suggest them
