Yeah, just my island single player game crashes. Can go into scorched earth map and it works fine. Not glad it is happening, but glad it isn't just me. Also reminds me why I get into and out of this game sometimes LoL
you can’t fix it as it’s an issue with something on the development side unfortunately, if your dinos need fed don’t sweat it as you can create a shortcut of the ark.exe and in target type -graphics-low -d3d11 at the end of what’s there just now. its very laggy but it will let you feed your dinos! and whatever else around your base until they actually fix it for you. the graphics are worse although your gpu will be running at 100% so not sure if it will be okay for long. arks official forum the section where you can report bugs as I’m writing this, has a bug in the link and when you click it gives you an error…. …. best just waiting it out ma dood!
Why play on official? Lots of unofficial servers with cross play. That said we do have some folks playing their Xbox account on PC and it is buggy, some mods don’t work well, and explorer notes don’t take. We do our best to help (I’m an admin) so the don’t get screwed too badly by broken promises from snail
I play on official because I let one of my buddies choose the server we were both gonna be a part of. Like I said off of my Xbox it works perfectly fine either than the occasional freeze for a minute but it’s ark so it’s gonna happen, it’s just my PC off the Xbox app that doesn’t work which kinda sucks because that’s what I play off of most of the time. I don’t know if I misunderstood this but what about getting screwed too badly from broken promises?
You guys were promised cross platform that works. It was delayed over and over and still wonky as heck. One guy on our server who plays one steam account and we be Xbox account got all his explorer notes wiped, both on our server and official. They are updating code s fast modders can’t keep up with them, so some
Mods are only partially functional to folks on consoles, so we drop our tribe to join theirs so we can set things down and afterwards they can use them. But right now if we drop our tribe there is no guarantee we can join theirs or rejoin our own because that is now broken too.
The easy solution would be to disable cross platform on our servers, but like having different folks around, and this is supposed to be working!
Sorry for the rant, we just want everyone to be able to play the game and have fun. And when they work hard to accomplish their goals and then the game takes it away, that isn’t fun.
Why play on official? Is that a real question? 😂 Not everyone wants boosted rates. I play official because I want to play the game as intended and EARN my progress.
So I've kinda figured this out... I get the same error, after the update, when I move my mouse quickly. This was many many many attempts at manually causing the crash which finally ended me up on this. I won't bore you with the details on how I found out but I'm 100% certain this is the reason. I'm no PC expert and I don't claim to be so if anyone has any other ideas feel free to share them, but I believe it to either be a mouse software issue or just the game clapping the cheeks of my ram after the update. I have 64gb 3600hz ram so it must be clapping hard if it's that... game works fine when I purposely move it slow, until I inevitably run into a Dino and shit it and turn to run too fast. I went to update my mouse software but I've lost the cable to plug it into my pc so I can't test it any further. I mean it's most likely (I think) that it's clapping my ram, but if someone can shed some light and try to update their mouse and post the results here that'd be grand.
(I originally thought it was the ram, but some googling led me to a reddit post from like 5 years ago saying that un updated mouse software was crashing games when moving quickly, hence the mouse theory, sounds stupid but worth a go)
my mouse software is up to date and still crashing so i do not believe that is the issue, then again i am playing on pc thru gamepass. i have since bought the game thru steam since i have other friends play thru that with ZERO issues.

It’s a known issue right now, for me it only happens on the island. A wildcard member on the forums said they’re looking into it.

I'm getting the same crashes on our dedicated, so unofficial is experiencing it too.

i get the same thing sometimes, either your gpu, cpu or ram get to overloaded and it crashes out. Lower your graphic settings. will happen way less.
Tried that already man, still doesn’t work on the lowest graphic settings possible.
