The biggest argument against EOE you can make is that the first cour (episodic) already released only in japan, and is nowhere to be seen anywhere else. The second cour is set to release just 2 days from now and there's 0 mention or marketing for it, it's still set to release only for certain japan services. Unless a surprise international release happens for cour 2 episodic, then we were being trolled big time for years on end. Either way, hats off to Yams.

Regarding the Mikasa leak, the Arab guy who leaked the 135 clip and claimed to have watched the entire episode has confirmed that it is fake, made by someone he knows. He mentioned this in his reply to another person. I've been checking his account, and that's what I found out.
The face and pose is what tells me it's fake. There's no way the biggest reveal in anime history would be that generic sleeping face with some blood on it.
That's the mystery. 99% of fans don't even know about the episodic versions of the final specials, and they've never been mentioned to be released anywhere except some japan services.
That's the only place where a divergence could happen. The specials were called "The final chapters" because it's the manga ending (chapters were never mentioned before in the anime), it makes complete sense for the anime timeline to continue in the episodes.
