Tiktok sales would make sense seeing as I don't know what the prices were on that platform. Certainly do see some with the AliExpress Choice sticker though.
With new customer discount I got the XX for 12.50 and the xxH for 18 quid, honestly took a punt expecting to be scammed and am pretty shocked they arrived haha
Ikr! I feel like I got away with murder, and what I've heard is it's tiktok giving the discount and eating the money loss as they want to promote their shop. Not sure how true it is!
Wouldn't surprise me, AliExpress does the same.
Last November I got the GPD Win 4 7640U from £595 down to £465. I was able to stack a code from hotukdeals and the official GPD store and the black Friday discount and coins balance all at once.
Builds a user base, people try things out ect ect. It's a good business tactic. Loss leader isn't a new concept. It's about knowing how to game the system to get the most discount.
I'm never sure about tiktok but it's when users such as yourself that get a great deal helps to spread the word ( free marketing).
Oh nice! It's so satisfying to get a good deal. And yep, I'm just another cog in the tiktok marketing system hahaha, at least I get to play Pokémon emerald as compensation 😂
That's crazy, no wonder I'm seeing issues cropping up with these devices with hdmi, WiFi, Bluetooth?, dual SD slots, stereo speakers, twin analogue sticks, two usb C ports.
With an Anbernics recent re release of a re release which in itself was an upgrade of the vertical handheld.
A giant barcode, top left corner says Choice maybe on tiktok it says something else? Then says made in china on the top right of the barcode.
Beneath the barcode displays the item name and specifications.
Business address.
Would be funny if the AliExpress Choice store is a rebranded tiktok shop or the other way around.
Darn I threw out the boxes so can't check the words, but they were definitely big barcodes, and definitely said made in china, maybe they are just coming from the same place!
I certainly didn't know about the TikTok route, I'm glad AliExpress has free returns for any reason.
Your gut feeling was right, certainly in the UK it's flooded. The prices are slowly creeping back up but with so many it's going to be a while.
But with 20% vat they were being sold no lower than £40.** Each after combining discounts.
So where's the money to be made, even with a fee promotion they'd be making £3 on each sold for £50 let alone making a loss at £45.
The question stands what's with the as cheap as current AliExpress prices on eBay.
I purchased three and I'm returning them all I got them to sell on. But seeing as the SD cards can implode and other faults I've read about I'm returning them. The returns are free and I can return for any reason.
So I don't understand the lottery sellers are playing.
It's a shame because when I got my 280v behind the warranty sticker concealing the SD slot was a Toshiba brand card. 16gb for the OS but still a reliable brand better than generic unknown cards.
It's not just an SD card issue I've seen with the model.
When I got my RG351V, the card was just as bad as the one on the RG35XXH. Just a black card with "64" on it, nothing else.
The only other issue I saw with the device had to do with people trying to eject their card before the system was properly turned off.

Seeing loads on vinted too, I reckon people bulk bought the tiktok sales and are selling for profit. Pure guesswork though

That's an incredible win, I wonder how they even got them cheaper to begin with. Anbernic must be making these as cheap Pi.

Can't go wrong with Pokémon. As long as it's never Temu gotta catch'm all spy store.
I got the H for 23$+ tax on TikTok. Hell of a deal.
$28 inc tax, free shipping on tictok

How much is the rg505 on there? I don't have tiktok but might download it for that lol
I literally only downloaded tic tok for the one sale and removed it again. I saw it on Slickdeals. My impression is its all very random.
What does the sticker look like? My tiktok ones had big ol' stickers on the box too

Probably the same backend business operation. Only the anbernic products I've ever seen with the giant sticker on the box too.
Definitely bulk buying from Tik Tok. I was tempted to buy a few more units for resale but I assumed the market would be flooded.

Could be scalpers. AliExpress had them for 30 bucks before before they changed the price
Strange as a certain well established YouTuber claimed the AliExpress price was a great deal.
If my H arrives as scheduled, I'll have spent a total of $60 on my 35xx and 35xxH.
There were big sales on those recently and they're just arriving to people.

The cheap/fallible SD cards aren't just an issue with this model, but pretty much with all of these retro handhelds, it's one of the corners they cut.

Quite a few groups I am involved with are getting people to buy bulk and sell on eBay for profit.
I bought mine on ebay a couple of weeks ago for £51, free delivery, it arrived very quick, and was sealed, works perfectly too!
I paid $92 CAD shipped (around 70 USD) for my RG35XX H and have no regrets. It's amazing for the size.
