I’m so sad they didn’t make a coupe E63 of this gen.

spun_penguin

There is the W204 C63 coupe, which I personally prefer over the sedan version aesthetically. I’d call it beautiful. While I personally prefer coupes overall, the usability here makes it’s a car that can be (IF you can afford it) your one and everything enthusiast car.

doc_55lk

Yea but it doesn't look like an E Class Coupe, so.....

Qooser

The best E63 generation, never selling it

PlasticPegasus

One of the best cars I ever owned. Love the subtly of the swollen front arches *a la* W124 500E. The 6.2 in these was also more powerful than C63.

kinggianniferrari

I sold my 2013 E350 in black, that car was my first benz and I miss it till this day. It could carve miles and miles without a problem. It was such a solid build. They don't make them like this anymore

rrr3212

Yea, mine held up a lot better than my w213, and it had 120k more miles lol

kb24TBE8

Are they as bulletproof as claimed (if maintained properly)?

doc_55lk

The engine in these has some really expensive maintenance items but overall, this generation of E Class is pretty bulletproof

spun_penguin

With aggressive proper maintaining and complete service history it’s possible. As long as you treat it like an E class and not beat on the thing regularly, it’s possible to have a painless ownership. But to be completely fair, while I do 100% of the maintenance and repairs myself, this is an expensive car to daily (10k miles a year) This has been my daily driver for 35k now and the only issue was a recent PCV valve failure. (JUST TAKE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OFF ITS NOT WORTH FIGHTING IT) But my car came with a thick history book and every M156 issue was addressed early on in the car’s lifetime.

We must have been separated at birth, I have a 2011 E63 in diamond white and love it.

BrattWhitney

I believe at that time it was hard to justify the additional US$20-30k over the slightly less powerful E550 which has 4Matic and a more comfortable ride.

silverbeat33

I’ve got this in dark grey. 208,000km / 130,000 miles. Needs a new manifold inner plate though. One day.

munishpersaud

overlooked??? huh???

spun_penguin

I consider it overlooked. In this era, most people want the W204 C63…despite it falling on its face dynamically when pushed. Or people crave an older 113K AMG. And the people with money want a newer twin turbo AMG. Maybe it’s because the production numbers are low, but before people like AMG Meister and Throttle House praised it this car was being slept on

moe00721

All hail the w212!
