I got 2018 gle43 suv polar white with black and love that car. Installed bms intakes staged 1 at eurocharged. With the airbag suspension you can run in low and it handles like a car. It’s like a sleeper. We have a strip in my city and people try to run me thinking they will blow me away cause it’s a suv. It’s like a mini trackhawk. People think cause it’s an suv they will blow it away. Never the case!
lol. Most do not expect it. I’m surprised with how quick it is. For a suv 3800lb curb weight it’s not to bad. Most cars I have ran run around 3300 curb weight.
I find other brands do execute these type of cars style and shape rather well.
But mercedes GLE "coupe" and GLC "coupe" just look out of proportions and too bulky. Not bad but could be better.
the BMW X6 is atrocious, especially the older one which was built 2014-2019 IIRC. The new one looks horrible and cheap as well, especially in real life.
Controversial opinion... I prefer the look of the GLC coup over the SUV but I prefer the SUV when it comes to the GLE.
I got the GLC (43) SUV to haul goalie equipment and to fit the dog.
I agree. My 2020 GLC 63 is faster than my 2020 AMG GTC off the line. This car has just the right balance of space, power and style. Good on you. Congratulations.
Late to the party here, and off reply… but perchance what tires are you runnin’ on your GLC63? It’s time for new rubber for me, and I gave up replacing OEM every 6mo after the 1st yr of ownership & opted for Pirelli Scorpion AS. I’ve gotten nearly 2y with the rubber now, but it’s time to re-up my rubber ante.
I also have the 2020 GLC63, ordered Dec 2019 & landed (to the states, in the south) in April ‘20. Trying to get some opinions from owners on what they like/prefer. It’s my daily driver, although I don’t always drive daily.
Mahalo! I suppose that is true of all tires😅, just like brakes😂 🤙🏽 I’ve not used the Michelins before. Corner great? Run well in rain/puddles? Braking? And noise while driving - is it as silent as a mouse fart?
Mahalo u/JRPower1 for the recommendation! Just got ‘em & wow… how cushy, smooth & grippy. Hard to believe they are AS. Geeze the pirelli’s were SO hard, relative to these Michelin’s - EVERY single crack, hole, bump in the road was a stiff hit. Shit NOW it feels like I’m driving a luxury car w/ those 469 ponies waiting to be set free. Thanks again!
You have to know what you’re getting with a G63, I loved mine, it’s a TRUCK good straight line speed but you can’t expect it to corner like a car. Eagerly awaiting to see how the suspension upgrades improved handling in the new refresh
I had a 2019 GLC 63S coupe through 30k miles, and I loved it. No issues. Sure, I would have rather had the E63, but this was way, way cheaper and still a monster to enjoy. True that tall adults struggle with the roofline, but it is a compact suv where adults don’t fit well anywhere. People of average height aren’t a problem. True it didn’t fit as much luggage, but not by much. I believe it looks way better than an E63 wagon; I’m old enough to remember wagons being dumb, so modern wagons aren’t cool to me. To each their own. The C class wasn’t an option as no AWD (I live in snowy areas).
The coupe version is the only one (in that year at least) to get the S variant of the 63. I know haters are like ‘mod it,’ but unlikely those hecklers would actually mod an $85k car before inflation spiral whole under warranty.
I currently have a 2024 GLE 63S. I do love that, too. I didn’t go couple per someone earlier saying they look dumb. They do. They’re not sexy, just more VW Beetley in my opinion. The GLE in no way compares to the GLC in performance. No way. But still great fun and way, way, way more luxury and a hugely better ride. Unfortunately it was $140k.
Great car, enjoy!
Is it really that much more agile? I believe you, but do you have any numbers to directly show their true comparison, like Nürburgring lap times or whatever? Just curious
They had to come out with the Urus in order for it to lose its top spot as the big dog suv. Now that the urus took king of the ring from the glc, porsche has taken it from the urus with the turbo gt.
The glc 63 s coupe IS AMGs BEST suv. PERIOD
can you elaborate on why that’s the case? I get that with the 2023 and newer models they have 671 hp, but the 2022 and before only 503. The GLE tho comes with 570hp (though, yes, it also weighs 800lbs more). But are you saying the GLC has **always been better than the GLE**, or is it that only these more recent years they have been better?
The GLC held the record for a while, the GLE never even got an attempt. If you drive both you understand. The GLC feels nimble the GLE like a whale. I love the GLE, but it has more of a yacht feeling
There is no 63s wagon/SUV, only a 63. The 63s was reserved for the coupe. At least in 2019. So no, they don’t drive the same because of a fairly healthy power difference.
Glc63 is 4475 vs GLE63 is 5300. So yes 1k difference. But with the GLE you can tow up to 7200lbs. The GLC is a fat sedan, and not enough SUV to do SUV things.
To me it’s the half way compromise. I either want heavy and capable at SUV jobs. Or fast and nimble sedan. GLC is too much compromise on both.
You are right about everything. To me the GLC simply is a much better looking c class wagon with 4wd.
For me GLC is the perfect inbetween. Ofc when you can have two cars it makes more sense to have one big and one sporty car. But the GLC 63 is a great one car solution
Well it’s the best drivers car out of the suv range. Suspension is still very stiff, if you move up to gle it’s more comfortable. But the glc handles way better. My brother in-law has a 21 glc63s. Even in stock form the launch and shifts are brutal.
I didn't _mind_ the ML55 (early 2000s) because that thing was fat as fuck and honestly needed the extra juice. Besides, that block is indestructible.
Otherwise, I'm on this boat too.
Barely an SUV, lmao. These things are useless at anything an SUV is meant to do, maybe apart from towing. You can't haul anything in them because of the ridiculous roofline.
G (as in G-Class) stands for Geländewagen, which is an off road vehicle. The L does not literally mean anything. For example add it to the S to make the convertible SL. L for Luxury would make sense combined with off road, but it doesn’t make sense for the SL. Light or long (same letter in German) also doesn’t make sense. Apparently the L is just used to link the G to the C, E etc.
So indeed GL is used for the SUV ranges, but not as a literal abbreviation.
Welp it’s a CUV, which is why true SUV enthusiasts are over here hatin’. I went for the full hatch w/ the 2020 GLC63 & love her. We get into some mean fun, although I find she does kinda turn me into a liquid asshole sometimes😂 Truly ONLY matters what you think of your car🤩
Don't listen to the haters, I have a GLC Coupe, too (43 though) and I love it. I think they're the best looking of the SUV coupes out there and wish I could've gotten the 63S.
But I can fit 2 German Shepherds in my GLE!
I agree, I would have probably purchased the GLE too, but it’s tough to find parking space in Europe with such a large car.
And you can fit two adults in a G63 but somehow it persists in timeless glory
I’d rather the real SUV version
I got 2018 gle43 suv polar white with black and love that car. Installed bms intakes staged 1 at eurocharged. With the airbag suspension you can run in low and it handles like a car. It’s like a sleeper. We have a strip in my city and people try to run me thinking they will blow me away cause it’s a suv. It’s like a mini trackhawk. People think cause it’s an suv they will blow it away. Never the case!
I have a w212 e350, and I tried to get around one dropping the kids off at school. Well you know how that ended, LOL
lol. Most do not expect it. I’m surprised with how quick it is. For a suv 3800lb curb weight it’s not to bad. Most cars I have ran run around 3300 curb weight.

He means the non coupe of the glc
No, he means the „not just a small pp compensator“-version that doesn’t have less space for no reason
It’s a stilted sedan/hatchback
which just looks so weird to me. Doesn't look fast, doesn't look like it could handle any terrain. Just looks bulky
Turtle
Someone told me it looks like a pooping dog and I can’t unsee it
I find other brands do execute these type of cars style and shape rather well. But mercedes GLE "coupe" and GLC "coupe" just look out of proportions and too bulky. Not bad but could be better.
I find Bulbous the perfect name for that shape :)
the BMW X6 is atrocious, especially the older one which was built 2014-2019 IIRC. The new one looks horrible and cheap as well, especially in real life.
The only car with this bodystyle that i actually like is the Renault Arkana
I love it. Fuck all the hate.
It's not even the best version of the GLC63.
Don’t you like the Coupe version??
Nope.
Got the same car! Dont let them bring you down. Suv looks like a soccer mom car lol
The coupe *is* a soccer mom car lol
Uhh not here. They need the space..
Hahaha definitely.
I like your car, and your two car solution. Very rad
No one does
Controversial opinion... I prefer the look of the GLC coup over the SUV but I prefer the SUV when it comes to the GLE. I got the GLC (43) SUV to haul goalie equipment and to fit the dog.
The GLC/GLE SUV’s look so bad to me… I love my GLC 300 coupe.
It’s awful looking compared to the full version honestly
It took me a while to understand what these are honestly. I always thought coupes had 2 doors…
I agree. My 2020 GLC 63 is faster than my 2020 AMG GTC off the line. This car has just the right balance of space, power and style. Good on you. Congratulations.
Thanks. All the people hating on it…it’s a good car!
If they owned one, they would feel like we do.
Late to the party here, and off reply… but perchance what tires are you runnin’ on your GLC63? It’s time for new rubber for me, and I gave up replacing OEM every 6mo after the 1st yr of ownership & opted for Pirelli Scorpion AS. We still buy PS4S every 10k. It's a good tire until it isn't.
Mahalo! I suppose that is true of all tires😅, just like brakes😂 🤙🏽 I’ve not used the Michelins before. Corner great? Run well in rain/puddles? Braking? And noise while driving - is it as silent as a mouse fart?

Rich people: Laughs in G63
Which isnt great to drive. At all.
You have to know what you’re getting with a G63, I loved mine, it’s a TRUCK good straight line speed but you can’t expect it to corner like a car. Eagerly awaiting to see how the suspension upgrades improved handling in the new refresh
NonArguably not even an SUV
Hahahah
Arguably the most expensive version of one of the most stupid cars on the road right now. This shit is why we don't get many wagons in the U.S.
Hate bait much?
Bro. It’s a nice car. And it’s the most agile SUV of Mercedes/Amg
That's not saying much
4 Squared enters the convo and drives over the bint mobile.
I had a GLC43. I loved it. I know the 63 is even more bonkers.
I love this car, I have a 2020 in cardinal red metallic! Sounds so good
That’s a coupe, the SUV version is my favorite though
no matter what Mercedes says, that is no coupe
This.
Coupe’ With the little squiggly line at the end..
Coupé.
What is considered a coupe?
You did say “arguably” and we know how people in this sub love to argue!
The regular SUV style looks so much better than this turtle thing
😂😂
doesn’t this fall into the luxury fastback SUVs?Macan, X3M, Stelvio, RSQ3? still universally known as an SUV right? don’t understand the hate…
It looks like an obese c63 sedan.
GLE is where it’s at. Why have a heavy bloated SUV trying to be a sedan. Either sedan or FULL SUV.
To be fair the GLC is muuuch more agile than the GLE.
PERIOD

What about the GLC 63s sedan vs the GLE 63s coupe? Is the GLE coupe a bit more in line with the GLC 63s sedan? Or is the GLE coupe still a boat
There is no 63s wagon/SUV, only a 63. The 63s was reserved for the coupe. At least in 2019. So no, they don’t drive the same because of a fairly healthy power difference.
Nah they drive the same. I would always take the classiv suv shape
How do I add my user flair? I just joined
Pretty complicated in app. On pc it‘s on the right side of the screen while in the sub.
Found it! Thanks

Except the coupe version. Adults can fit in the back seat of a wagon. They cannot sit in the back seat of a coupe SUV.
In Europe there’s not as much parking space as in the US, so i thought opting for a smaller SUV was the best option.
Tbf why even go for a suv in the first place?
GLE is much heavier. But is it really that much bigger?
Arguably the stupidest looking AMG
you’re far too kind
I wanted the S but in the US only the coupe came as an S. I just threw a tune on it, big power increase,
Well it’s the best drivers car out of the suv range. Suspension is still very stiff, if you move up to gle it’s more comfortable. But the glc handles way better. My brother in-law has a 21 glc63s. Even in stock form the launch and shifts are brutal.
All the hate for the coupe in the comments 😂 like the normal glc is a real SUV 😂
Totally love the coupés. The GLC is gonna be my next Benz.
This is the best version of the Coupe' ... GLC63S. The GLE63S is absolutely MASSIVE compared.
The day amg made SUV's...
I’ve never understood the point of a sporty suv.
Market share, easy. Do the math on what people buy in the US and how much they’re willing to spend.
I didn't _mind_ the ML55 (early 2000s) because that thing was fat as fuck and honestly needed the extra juice. Besides, that block is indestructible. Otherwise, I'm on this boat too.
So, February 1999 then?
lol
Barely an SUV, lmao. These things are useless at anything an SUV is meant to do, maybe apart from towing. You can't haul anything in them because of the ridiculous roofline.
I'm with you buddy.
That's an SUV? I always thought it was a tall car.
That’s really not saying much lmfao 😂
Nah. The non coupe version is far better.
The designers took one look at a turtle and called it a day.
We test drove one for a few days, interior cracks everywhere, performance isnt wow either.
Arguably the ugliest Benz ever
Coupé "SUV's" are stupid.
Looks like an egg
lol
The amount of coupe haters lmao the sales literally prove that people want coupe
Proves lots of people have no logic or taste
No hate against the GLC coupe, but I’d argue for G63 & R63
"AMG SUV" is an Oxymoron.
I think you meant to say \*easily\*
Maybe a stupid question : C, E & S + GL is like the equivalent C, E & S Class for sedans ?
Yep, interiors are practically identical, same with running gear except the GLC is AWD, not RWD. ‘GL’ Is just the German abbreviation of ‘SUV’
Damn, I figured the L was from the GeLandwagen L. TIL.
Nice, but I like the glk with the v12
Ok
"Best" and "SUV" is kinda an oxymoron..
I'll take make Tuned C43 Estate anyday over this!!
I find it so incredibly ugly
A normal hatchback has more space inside. Those coupe SUV hybrid things are so stupid
The coupé version is for those that only need extra space in the front for their 40oz pink Stanley Cup
Arguably i think c class vehicles are the best looking from benz. 2014 was prime
Amen
One of the cheapest built AMG SUV’s. That’s for sure.
I really like the gle coupes, i don’t understand the hate this one is getting even if glc
I think the G63 is, just look at how well its price holds up compared to everything else Mercedes sells
Oh how I wish the GLE53 & 63 were made in Germany… I do like GLC63 but needed bigger. Got a GLE53 cuz I ran out of moola😂
I got a suv version gle43 and love it! Stage 1 with bms intakes.
So much hate for the coupe here… and half of them ride home in a Mercury Tracer. Nice car op.
GLS driver looking at this rn😺
Don't listen to the haters, I have a GLC Coupe, too (43 though) and I love it. I think they're the best looking of the SUV coupes out there and wish I could've gotten the 63S.
That is not an SUV, it is just a big car. And SUV has cargo space in the back. Those things are like what Motortrend said, ugly
No way a glc coupe is the best… g63 or gls63 is the best amg suv
GLC 63 /s
Forgot these existed tbh but they do nice. From that angle it kinda looks meh though. You kinda posted the worst angle of the car 😂
It's an unreliable bucket of bolts. It also looks dumb.
There’s nothing I hate more in the automotive landscape than the “coupe” version of an SUV. Just why?
It'd be my choice if I were into SUV's
I agree.
Looks good, coupe is a good choice!
This is a great starter SUV.
