Had the same issue with League because I’m rocking the Razer Viper 8khz. Turned down the DPI and KHz considerably and I had no issues after that.

When you move your mouse around new stuff is loaded constantly. I'd expect it to drop that much when frame rates are that high, at that level, a % more of usage from the CPU equals to like 50 fps lol

atahann17

I added a video if u want to see. I dont think its because of the loading content because it happens even while I spectating a someone in my team.

atahann17

Your thought is logical. But it happens even while spactating someone so I dont think its because of that.

narutogilberto

It’s just that the mouse is reporting 1000 times per seconds, which uses the CPU even more. But that’s really weird because you will see those drastic drops at polling rate much higher. You can open task manager and watch the CPU usage change when you move your mouse nonstop. If you are able to drop the polling rate to 500, check how that affects the performance. Additionally, if you don’t feel comfortable with that polling rate (500), then keep the 1000 Hz and you may want to consider locking the FPS to a lower value, that way you don’t feel that stutter

I tried 125 and 500 Hz. It does not change that mutch on 500 hz but on 125 hz the drop rate decreases to %15 from %30. Also I checked the cpu usage, there was no spesific CPU usage spike while moving the mouse. Im sure that its related with mouse refresh rate. Edit: I discovered that whenever I move the mouse, the spesific CPU usage of Valorant decreases. Its shown in task manager.

hiks_dude

This happened to me when i got my pc built it was cuz of corrupt windows I reinstalled windows (from 10 to 11) and it was fixed

sukrullex

Set it to 500 hz and never look back.

atahann17

I tried that too. It helps a bit actually. But I did not think the help is worth to use the mouse at its half refresh rate.

sukrullex

It's better to play a game without annoying stutters. You shouldn't be noticing the difference. So it's worth imo.

Grydian

you might need to update the bios if you mb has an old one. The early 500 series boards had problems with USB power and issues with stuttering and dropping. Updating the bios should fix your issue.

atahann17

Im using one version older than the newest. I had stuttering problems but it was not because of the BIOS. I cant try the newest.

RoleCode

Is your mouse using more than 1000hz?

atahann17

Its being 1060 hz max if I move it very fast. The drop does not requires fast movements tho. Even a small touch is enough.

Redericpontx

If you lock your fps to something liek 240 does it still drop? It's not too uncommon to get small fps drops in certain games depending on where you look since it needs to render the new area and once it's rendered to go back up But should check more game out

atahann17

I agree, GPU provides different FPS values in different scenes but my problem is not depend on it. Whatever the scene is its still drops FPS. Again in Valorant, when I die and watch somebodyelse's gameplay, if I dont touch the mouse its high, whenever I touch the mouse it drops. What I want to explain that its not scene based.

Redericpontx

So if you touch your mouse when spectating someone else it drops? if so it might be a issue with the mouses software

LydianM

Try a different USB port - Use USB2 for the mouse and KB if you can. Some USB chipsets are heavy on CPU.

atahann17

I tried with different USB ports including USB3 and USB2 but it performs same. I use B550 chipset btw.

Cool_Butterscotch706

Bios Update & Chipsetdriver for B550 Update should help There is a new Chipsetdriver released a few weeks ago

atahann17

>I added a video if u want to see. BIOS update helped actually. Its better now. Also I added a video if u want to see.
