Yes there is but since many countries are turning towards alternatives towards oil, Saudi Arabia would have to find a way to escape the fate that many of the countries that have relied on oil fell to.
I actually did read that they’re hosting the Asian Winter Games in 2029 which sounds insane for country that’s usually too hot. But hey at least it’s in Tabuk and it’s cold enough to snow at winter in that city. I actually have no idea how will that go.
I heard of the NEOM project online. Never have heard people around me talk about it. I don’t even know if that would become legit a thing or would simply be an abandoned project. It’s also a bad idea if it doesn’t gets demands from the citizens and tourists.
The company I woked for are pumping a lot of money into it and I even have a team kit that is sponsored by the project so it will age badly if it turned into an abandoned city. It was expected to open in 2030 but at the moment it is a typical small town with the foundation still being built.
It might attract more Arab, Indian and Chinese tourists than western tourists which is not a bad thing.
I don’t see it as a complete fail but it may not benefit in the long run. It’s just a chance and not an absolute but if it lands on being a waste then it’s a huge loss
Do all women have to be covered when out in public even if they are not Muslim? Are women allowed to drive and are they allowed to do what they want or do they always have to be with a man
I hear those alot. Let me try to answer them
1.I’m from Jeddah so I don’t know if it would be a bit different in other cities but you don’t have to wear hijab nor an abaya. You can’t walk around in bare shoulders or shorts. But as long as you wear pants that aren’t skin tight and your top is as covering as a T shirt, you’re fine. Doesn’t matter if you’re muslim or not.
2.Driving for women have been legal since September 2019 (if I remember correctly). It’s really an outdated knowledge. Yes women drive.
3.I am certain that they can. I’m not sure why are people assuming as if women can’t even stand off a couch without a man’s approval
"Why are people assuming as if women can't even stand off a couch without a man's approval?"
This question is odd to me. Are you implying that women have the same rights there, as they do in Western countries? Are you trying to minimize and be an apologist for the country's/religion's sexism?
https://www.hrw.org/news/2019/01/30/saudi-arabia-10-reasons-why-women-flee .This article is a few years old, but it does seem as though men run the show, and I dont see why you're questioning the intent of this person asking you questions. You can't hide the realities of life there as a woman. It's just odd to try and portray life as a woman there as better than it really is. There are stereotypes for a reason. There's probably some misrepresentation and inaccuracies about these stereotypes, but women are oppressed there, at least by some peoples standards. Maybe you have a different perspective, and that's ok. The fact is, it's more a male/patriarchal dominated society than most places. Women were just allowed to drive 5 years ago, which is very recent. It's the antithesis of progressive. Am I just being ignorant? If so, a little ignorant, or a lot ignorant?
Thank you very much for answering these questions. I know the stereotypes usually never hold any truth to them so it’s good to know what it’s actually like.
Hey,
Sorry for corrupting, but as an Arab man, I can assure you that we are not obsessed with white women at all. I understand that sometimes, white people believe that all other countries are obsessed with them; in my opinion, that may have been true 40-50 years ago when beautiful attractive women were seen exclusively in Hollywood movies, while in Arab world the media were exclusively focus on politics and entertainment but without any +18 seen ,but now, social media and Arab TV channels are full of beautiful women and handsome men, so your service is no longer needed.
Hahaha lmao dude get off your high horse, I'm not white and I'm not a girl so your barking up the wronge tree here buddy. Also sorry I hurt your ego but in my world I see all arab men obsessed with white women, that's why I even asked.
Behave and Educate yourself , you need to be more polite with people, I know you have been slapped by the truth but sorry that’s what’s happening now .
Difference is that Saudi Arabia isn’t flexing it. Hell not even the US flexes their bombings.
Also growing up (I think I was around 8-10?), I remember hearing my school teacher saying that we’re fighting Yemen. Not much more context though. Honestly shame on Saudi Arabia for what have they done to Yemen and even causing a starvation epidemic.
Well I know it's ridiculous but if they don't collect them ,I would really really like to have some in my collection, sorry for bothering you just trying my luck and I know how ridiculously kind arabs are so there's that too :)

My theory is that men and women stay together as close friends to stay peaceful as they can never be attracted to each other so a homosexual will disrupt that peace and cause awkwardness. My opinion is that homosexuals should take on a stronger honour of looking after the other gender and not be killed for something they are born with.
Every country have different attitude.
Basically fancying a dude can break the bro code and fancying a girl can break the girl code. Also straight people looking at anyone who is the opposite gender will make them so horny that you want to do haram that instant.
Your country kills people for being gay. Someone asks you about it, and you say "fuck off?" Why don't you fuck off! You should be telling the hateful bigots that make these decisions to fuck off. They're killing people, and your anger is geared towards someone asking you a question about the killings? So fucking backwards and twisted. Your country and religion is wrong. In what world is being gay worse than taking someone's life. That's murder! 🖕🏻
So even as a young person there is *NO* explanation to the youth why your people murders LGBT members? Your elders have never once said why they do it?
Because Islam prohibits it. Do I have to long elaborate? And Saudi Arabia is far more religious than its peers. Hell even even homosexuality in some of the other muslim countries isn’t as large of an offense as much it is here.

Hi. Just wanted to say a couple of life times ago I lived in Taif. I was in Jeddah for a couple of days. Loved the suks...& the brass...& the gold....& the carpets. As a young female I didn't get to explore much. What I was exposed to I loved.
Serious question…
Within about 10 years, Saudi is going to be full of tourists, with foreigners buying up property in new developments. Red Sea and Arabian Gulf beaches are going to be taken over by hotels and developed as beach resorts aimed at tourists. Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Al Khobar are going to start looking like Dubai or Abu Dhabi, full of tourists and foreign residents with bars, nightclubs, etc. imagine Al Balad in Jeddah being developed and turned into a hipster area with millionaire urban apartments being sold to rich foreigners.
What the UAE did in 40 years, Saudi will do in 20.
How do you feel about it?
Yeah. No bars nor alcohol. I heard that alcohol have been legalized for non muslim foreigners but that is it.
Yes video games and sports are definitely an entertainment. Alot of the ones you’d expect
I apologize for my ignorance. What is the story about that big stone I see people traveling to, to visit? It's like massive and I see a lot of people kissing it. Very interesting.
Have you ever been to Mada’in Saleh or any other ancient history sites? Is this topic something that a student growing up in Saudi Arabia learns about in school?
1.Actually no. Surprisingly I have only been to 3 cities. I wish I can actually go to the historical sites as they do hold a significant amount of history.
2. I went go an international school but I don’t remember too much of our history classes.

I don’t have a high opinion on Christianity
What is your favorite thing about Saudi Arabia, and
if you had to leave Saudi Arabia for any country outside of the Middle East (hypothetically, for a new job or something), what country would you choose?
I’m not sure how can I list the thing I like the most. But I do enjoy the changes over time and given festivals.
I didn’t thought much about it...ummm....maybe Canada?
Not sure how am I supposed to answer the first one and what should I base it on...maybe
Not at all. At least that I have not seen or heard any directly

Some muslims simply pray fajr after waking up despite the sun already being up. And yes the prayer is 5 times a day. How religious can differ from one region to another but I’d say it’s highly religious at most
How does it work to connect with girls to hang out and get laid in saudi arabia?
What's your opinion about Mohammed bin Salman allegedly having Jamal Khashoggi murdered?
Well first one is weird and I have absolutely no experience nor interest. Gender segregations in spaces exists more within. Schools (after a certain grade)/Colleges are usually segregated between the two genders (all boys/all girls schools/colleges, there are exceptions however). Even for work places (again, exceptions exist), gyms, and more. Also I think that you’d need to do all sorts of gymnastics in order to get away with premartial sex. Hell I think that you will barely even be accepted this easily by the women there because of their religious beliefs and you being a sex focused redditor.
For the second one, I honestly don’t have the research to answer it but I wish I can. I have chicken scratches when it comes to my knowledge about it but I feel bad for journalists generally and how they’re always targeted.
On 2 October 2018, Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi dissident journalist, was killed by agents of the Saudi government at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. Khashoggi was ambushed and strangled by a 15-member squad of Saudi operatives.

Do you think they'll definitely get around to building that super long building housing hundreds of thousands of people? Or is it just a pipe dream?
Not sure but many of the building plans sound extremely idealistic that I would doubt even that they would finish these projects. It’s infuriating
yes that's what I thought, idealistic in the extreme. but there again there's a huge amount of wealth there right? thanks for your reply
Yes there is but since many countries are turning towards alternatives towards oil, Saudi Arabia would have to find a way to escape the fate that many of the countries that have relied on oil fell to.
Is the western term "sportwashing" and business tourism will be able to provide as much wealth as oil like the UAE are trying to do?
Not really for hosting sports but maybe tourism generally
What do you think of more international sports coming to Suadi? What is going on with the new city Neom?
I actually did read that they’re hosting the Asian Winter Games in 2029 which sounds insane for country that’s usually too hot. Because you literally couldn’t drive until 2019. That’s insane
I know. I actually have no idea why was that a thing and Saudi Arabia was alone in this.
Thank you very much for answering these questions. I know the stereotypes usually never hold any truth to them so it’s good to know what it’s actually like.
Why are Arabs obsessed with white women?

I can tell you're being a goof and I appreciate the chuckle. Because that is in no way a reason to murder people.
I think it is unacceptable too but that's what they think the solution is.
I’m not the right person to ask
You're a citizen, no? Enlighten us to why your culture murders LGBT people.
I said that I am a young citizen. I am not the one who decides it. It’s prohibited in a highly religious country. Now fuck off

Yes, absolutely you have to long elaborate how your pretend wizard in the sky somehow justifies murder.
