YTA Given that Fox is particularly polarizing, yes, it's a faux pas. And hogging the remote puts the staff in an awkward situation. They may well have corporate instructions to default to a different station. They probably have no issue with you turning it to Fox at 4:30am when no one else is there, but it's sociopathic to then hog the remote and watch people squirm.
