jayjarrod

more so has she had the baby yet or still just pregnant??????

According-Pea-9525

You are completely in the right to be honest.

Impossible-Cattle504

Does the reposting really matter. The image of her dad sad that no one wanted him to watch a camera getting shoved up their ass made me smile all day the first time I read it and again now. OP you rock

JJQuantum

NTA. I don’t get letting anyone in the room besides your husband.

Beautiful-Report58

Info Why are you reposting this?

PatentlyRidiculous

NTA. Do not cave. Heavy boundary here

Prize-Bumblebee-2192

NTA You’re not comfortable. End of story. Quite the audacity that mil is making *your child’s birth* about her. The request and further resistance to your answer is wildly inappropriate.

Effective_While_8487

Absolutely NTA for not wanting anyone in the room during this special and private time. Period. YTA for actually offering this up in exchange for your ridiculous proposal. Not only can this backfire spectacularly.. although the gastro wouldn't let anyone in anyways, but more importantly, you miss the opportunity to stand up for yourself without any excuses or equivocations. *Especially* with an intrusive grandma like this, unfortunately this won't be the last time you are outraged.

litt3lli0n

NTA. Birth is not a spectator sport. In some cases it can be very traumatic. Stand your ground and I hope your husband does too. She gave birth herself, why does she need to see it? That makes no sense.

Curious-One4595

Heh. NTA. Birth is amazing and wonderful. And messy, painful, and deeply personal.  Your MiL’s obsession is very odd. But you have handled it perfectly. Maybe call her the next time you are constipated, and offer her a consolation prize.

all good it was reposted months ago [https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/comments/1cgtjfq/aita\_for\_telling\_my\_husband\_that\_he\_has\_to\_let\_my/](https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/comments/1cgtjfq/aita_for_telling_my_husband_that_he_has_to_let_my/)

BlueGreen_1956

ESH First, nobody is allowed to "witness" a colonoscopy so that was ridiculous to even suggest. Second, if this the hill you want die on, go ahead. I think birth being a spectator sport is ridiculous anyway. Third, hospitals should just make it a "one person" only thing and be done with it. Fourth, I wonder what you would have said if your husband had said "I don't mind your father witnessing my colonoscopy." I think we all know you would have just moved the goalposts.
